Wir hatten hier eine Übernachtung und Frühstück. Das Hotel ist ein schönes Steingebäude mit sauberen Zimmern und super Service. Auch das Frühstück am Morgen war lecker. Für einen Aufenthalt wirklich zu empfehlen

Perfekt gelegen in der Nähe des Grassmarkets. Schönes. historisches Gebäude. Parken schwierig und teuer.

Das Hotel ist im Bezug auf die Lage und die Zimmer empfehlenswert. Es wurde zwar gerade renoviert, was aber nicht zu Beeinträchtigungen geführt hat. Einziger Negativpunkt: Leider war das Zimmer zur Hauptstraße gelegen und daher etwas laut. Auch die Temperatur war nachts recht hoch und ließ sich nur tagsüber durch öffnen der Fenster regulieren. this hotel was a little far out but was clean and the rooms were a good size. staff were friendly and helpful. Afew points in the room were poor lighting in the bathroom with no small mirror for make up.The hairdryer in the draw didi not stretch to the mirror so cord needs to be longer. breakfast was poor for the price paid both in chose and qualit […] y. It took a bit of finding, as Google maps initially got the location a bit wrong, but once found I was very happy with my stay at the hotel. The bad was a bit on the firm side, but was fine for me. For breakfast you have a selection of items, and its well worth paying for them in advanced, as they range from about a tenner for the basic buffet, or a […] couple of quid more for cooked breakfasts, where you have a nice choice of a full Scottish, or a couple of types of fish. Great room, friendly staff, decent bar.

This was a home away from home while looking at University of Edinburgh with my daughter. Great location. It was clean, comfortable with free wi-fi. It worked for us. I would like to return to Edinburgh to experience more of a visit as a true tourist.

Very good value for money taking into account large room with good facilities, comprehesive breakfast, excellent service and location. I would particularly mention prompt attendance of duty manager with replacements when new light bulb needed, as well as working hair dryer. And everyone at the hotel had a smile...

Overall the hotel was very nice and the staff very friendly. The only fault I really had was the room was very chilly at times as the radiator did not keep up with the size of the room. Also, it is a good 15 minute walk from the Haymarket Station and I wish there would have been a few more restaurants and Pubs. However, these are only a 10 min walk […] away. Mehr

The Edinburgh City Hotel was nice. The rooms are spacious, modern, and well kept. The surrounding area seems a bit dodgey but once you take a stroll around you'll find that it's not so bad. The location was great, hotel staff were very helpful. I would definately recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Edinburgh.

Decent room, decent size, decent service. A bit out of the way (not exactly in the city center but not a far walk either).

The rooms very very clean but a bit too small (specially the beds). Great location, only 10 min pleasant walk to princess street. Various of good restaurants in a walking distance. Friendly staff, quiet and a good value for the money. I would stay again at the hotel and recommend to others.

This was a real surprise, huge room with sofa , very clean and smart and so well located for exploring the staff were scottish and very friendly - real nice to have some locals working in a hotel - rare today couldnt fault the place

Located just behind the castle close to all attractions and princes street

Stayed here while in town for our daughter's wedding. Hotel is located right around the corner from our daughter's flat so excellent location for us and, of course, walking distance from The Mile. Lovely big room. Excellent service. Would (and probably will) stay here again.

This hotel is pretty good as it is an area that is close to the Royal Mile and Grassmarket and some of the other museums. but not too close that the area is crowded or noisy at night. The food service is good and the rooms are roomy and comfortable.

Being able to park the car was huge, albei not many spots!! Great location for main attracttions.

Very nice rooms, with all essentials and more available. The major drawback is that the hotel has no parking space. You have to park your car in a car park near the hotel, but that was -even with the discount that the hotel provided- quite expensive.

Nice staff, awful bed, lots of street noise (particularily because the room was very warm and the windows had to be open). WIndows only open part way. Didn't try the restaurant. Overall, it wouldn't be my first choice but it was ok.

Nice rooms. Modern bath and TV. Employees helpful with restaurant choices and transportation questions.

Great Hotel, awesome service...just good all-around. This Hotel is a great budget friendly hotel. Just note beds sizes in the UK are very different from the US so just keep that in mind when booking a room.This hotel is newly renovated very modern yet homey. Loved the bathroom nice hot showers at all hours with great water pressure. On a personal note: […] My wife was pretty sick from a horrible Migrane even her meds weren't helping. The woman at the front desk saw how sick she was and by the time we got to our room and put our bags down there was a knock at the door with crackers, water , and a washcloth. This meant the world to me and my wife who was all better by the morning. This was our Honeymoon and now all my wife asks is when we are going bak to Scotland. A little tricky to get to by car, and with very little available parking, but a great location for touring the city center sights. Excellent room for the money.

Overall the hotel was comfortable and attractive. We were able to easily get to it on bus 35 from the airport. The Grassmarket area was only a few blocks away and we felt safe walking back to the hotel that night. The only downside was that I literally came within an inch of flooding the bathroom. I hadn't plugged the tub, but the water pressure from […] the bath spigots made it nearly impossible to turn them off. My husband had to use all of his strength (and he's a strong guy) to get the job done. There were chips of iron in the tub when the water drained. There wasn't anyone at the desk when we went down to check out. (granted, it was 5:30 in the morning) Mehr

The location of this B.W. is convenient for those used to walking (remember Edinburgh is hilly). The hotel restaurant was a disappointment -- its advertisements speak of better days. staff was pleasant and accommodating...room spacious and comfortable...walking distance to grassmarket and royal mile...parking garage a block away...worked well for us as we attended the tattoo and fringe festival events

Very good service. Room was cleaned quickly and thoroughly, and a later check was done by a supervisor. Laura at reception was very helpful when we wanted to hire a car.
