Kurz und knapp berichtet. Das Hotelpersonal super freundlich, die Zimmer komfortabel , Preis-Leistung stimmt und die Lage genial. Es ist fast alles fussläufig zu erreichen. Beim nächsten Besuch werden wir bestimmt wieder das Hotel auswählen. Gruß D+C

Das Fintesscenter stammt leider noch aus dem letzten Jahrhundert - dringend zu verbessern.

Don't buy the wifi for the room! Total rip off and it isn't cheap. It's nice to sit in the lobby area and use the wifi for free....it's a very comfy lobby with food and snacks! Free mini bar is awesome...we asked for diet coke and water only, and they stocked the fridge! Nice workout facility and the restaurant was very good. Overall I was very hap […] py. Mehr

Location was excellent. Room was small but very clean. Bed was very comfortable. I would stay there again.

The hotel was at a central location and within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. The rooms were clean. However, we don't recommend the cont'l breakfast they offered. It was very expensive for runny eggs, juice, pastries and coffee. Also, it took several hours to check-in, because of the line and no communication with the receptionist. The location is the one redeeming feature of the hotel. It should be a 3 star hotel; the room furniture was not the best and front desk staff not the most friendly. Hotel.com list the check in time of 12 noon, rude manager advised that it was 3 p.m., like all Marriotts, which it would be in November. Too much pork and pastry for breakfast. While the hotel had some good features, it did not impress us as we had expected. The hallway to the room was austere in its lack of decoration. The modern decor would appeal to many, just not to us. The staff was very professional and helpful in suggesting places to eat, checking on our flight time for us and arranging for a taxi to the airport. The […] view from the 10th floor to the east was breathtaking: The Sagrada Familia; various Bell Towers; Torre Agbar; and the Mediterranean in the background. It was a fairly easy walk to Plaza Catalunya and La Rambla. Just a little fixing up (shower in our unit) and more comfortable furnishings would really help. Mehr

NIce hotel, nice staff and beautiful rooms!

I recommend that you use this hotel as a base but eat elsewhere. The hotel is in the center of Barcelona and is very convenient for touring. Barcelona is a beautiful city and Gaudi is the prime reason for visiting.

We stayed at the AC Diplomat in Barcelona on two different dates, both before & after a recent cruise sailing from the city. The rooms are impecable and the front desk very helpful and friendly - despite my limited Spanish. The location, just a couple of blocks off Las Ramblas is ideal if you want to be inn that part of town. Free wifi in the lobby […] and a decent bar as well. Highly recommended! Mehr

This was my last hotel on my 2 week trip and the one I was the most impressed by the great service, very nice looking rooms and car garage. Also awesome location. We got it at a really good price that wouldn't justify getting any better hotels At all. Best Value

Great hotel! We got a superior room, which was surprisingly large and easily accomodated two adults and two children. The view was great and the room was very clean. The staff were extremely helpful and the hotel was a two minute walk from the main shopping district of Barcelona, and a five minute walk from the Gothic District. The only complaint we […] had was the pool. It was closed for maintenance during our stay and it was more like a jacuzzi designed 30 years prior and not kept up very well. Mehr

A C Diplomat was a great hotel and way to start our vacation off great hotel, and staff...very helpful and got us off to our cruise.

Our family really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in a great area close to everything. The staff spoke english well and they were relatively accomodating compared to other service people we encountered in Barcelona. We would definitely recommend the hotel.

The maid lost my chemotherapy and after I reported it no one even bothered to follow up or apologize. The hotel is pretty and clean the location is convenient to everything the rooms however are EXTREMELY LOUD. you can hear EVERYTHING, talking, shoes on the wood floor, doors slamming, toilets flushing. partying. many guests come in and out at all hours […] and party in their room, unable to sleep through the night. Hotel is excellent in every way: clean, elegant, good firm beds, wonderful service, quiet room (important in Barcelona) good coffee (but costs extra). Price of room is high but worth it. Train from airport stops only one block away from hotel, so you save about 60 euros on taxis (back and forth to airport). Hotel is located in the heart of the Gaudi-district […] of Barcelona, everything is nearby or easily reachable. The one exception to this excellence was their awful wifi set-up. Very convenient location. Friendly and helpful staff in the hotel at all levels. Always greeted with a smile. On our next trip to Barcelona we will definately stay at this hotel.

5 mins from the metro, free minibar ( drinks only ) clean hotel, friendly staff, great tapas bars metro takes u straight to the airport. meals that we could afford as well

This hotel is well located but still requires a little walking. The free mini bar is a nice bonus. But, there is no safe in the room. The staff was not quite as accommodating as my previous visit. I really enjoyed this hotel the first time I stayed but not as much this time. I stayed 2 nights following my trans Atlantic cruise. I didn't recall hearing […] noise from other rooms previously, but I did on this stay. It was warm but I couldn't get the A/C to work. I wasn't supplied with towels the second day without asking. There were a lot of little things that made my stay less pleasant than before. I'm afraid I won't be returning to this hotel again. Mehr

Could have been a lot better. Small room. Bed makes a lot of noise. Gym a bit outdated. No iron in hotel? Must pay for ironing service. Free internet in lobby but very very slow. Long line at check-in. Service a bit indifferent. Redeeming quality-- the location is fantastic. Close to everything.

The location was very good and breakfast is value for money the only thing is that there is not a good choice of food at the restaurant

We spent 3 nights at the hotel and found it to be rather stark and somewhat unfriendly. When approached the staff was helpful and spoke English when they needed to. We had ants in our room, but it was not a serious problem so we did not report it until we left. The hotel is ultra modern design - great if you like uncomfortable furniture. The hotel and […] room was clean. Staff could detail a little about the hotel when checking customers in. e.g. where the dining room and bar lounge area is along with the gym facilities. There was no visitor information for us as we were tourists. I guess Canada has a different approach to our visitors and make every effort to welcome them with information on dining spots, attractions, etc. We managed our own touring and locating what we needed even though we don't speak the language. I will seek out a more friendly and traditional hotel in Barcelona on our next visit. Mehr

Great , safe location without being in the heart of the city noise. Clean, very spacious, modern room. Friendliest, most helpful staff I came across in 4 hotels on my trip to Spain. Room was cold and staff brought up a space heater within 5 minutes.

This hotel is perfect in every way and is close to everything. We will stay here again definitely!!

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the AC Diplomatic - check-in and location are stellar, the price was fair for the location and amenities, and the front desk staff were extremely helpful. Most spoke English well enough to help us out with directions, and appreciated our lame attempts at Spanish. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

We stayed at the AC Diplomatic Hotel in Barcelona for three nights. The hotel is very centrally located, only a few minutes walk from the main train station in Passeig de Gracia. Great location and friendly staff, train directly from the airport to the station about 100m from hotel and perfect for walking into the centre. Hotel is suitable for couples and business people especially. Would liked to have had breakfast included in hotel package but worked out too expensive. A/C Diplomatic was fantastic. I've stayed in the Majestic twice before as well as the Meridien and Moritz.,The Majestic though more expensive I could here street noise and the bathrooms were much smaller though that hotel is more expensive. The Meridien is on La Rambla but there is so much more to see in Barcelona that the AC Diplomatic is a better […] location and out of 4 hotels I've stayed at, this is my favorite.The room was spotless, bathroom gorgeous dark green marble and glass. Great location. We wish our flight would have been on time as we lost a half day in Barcelona and at the hotel. Definitely will stay at this hotel when we return to Barcelona. We could walk to everything including with a 4 year old, la Rambla, Plaza Catalunya and more. Mini Bar a plus. Great view from Floor 8 while working out or sitting a the pool. Excellent service too. If we could do it again we would have stayed 2 nights before our cruise instead of 1 night only. Love this hotel! Mehr

I don't normally write reviews, but the AC Diplomatic was special. From beginning to end, the hotel made sure I was taken care of. The bed was great, the bathroom was sparkling and large. It's a great place to start a walking tour of Barcelona from, which I did every day I was there. It's also really close to some great bars and fantastic restaurants. […] And there's an amazing spot to get churros a couple of blocks away. Mehr

Perfect Location, within walking distance of main square and Las Ramblas. One block from Casa Batillo and a great selection of bars and restaurants for both breakfast and tapas. €1.95 for coffee and croissant. Hotel itself was very modern but it was as I expected after seeing the photos on the hotels.com website. The rooftop pool was tiny, but yet again […] this is what I expected and I just wanted to use it to cool off rather than swim. Overall, I would highly recommend Mehr

The hotel is beautiful and comfortable, but the staff was very unfriendly. I felt like I was imposing on them every time I had a question. Perhaps it was a language issue--English/Spanish, but I felt very uncomfortable. Also, the power went out in our room, but as far as we could see no where else in the hotel. This hotel was excellent for my first experience in Spain. The staff was helpful, and most understood English well enough to help with all my requests, including baggage and room service. The complimentary mini-bar was a nice touch (although it only contains one beer). It was very convenient to wake up in the morning and grab a free cold water or soda. […] The location is very convenient for sites including the infamous Las Ramblas which was about a 15mins walk away. The hotel is one block from a major street full of activities and great restaurants and bars; as well as some Gaudi architecture. The only negative thing about this hotel is the paper-thin walls. You can hear voices of other guests and especially the house cleaning staff in the morning. It is difficult to sleep through you can even feel the bed vibrate when a neighbor closes the door. Perfectly located close enough to La Rambla for easy access but far away enough to have peace and quiet, the AC Diplomatic in Eixample is also quite close to the Metro, the Aerobus stop at Placa de Catalunya and the Passeig de Gracia.
