Hotel ZaZa - Houston

Overall, the room was nice, but the service was so bad that we won’t be returning.

My stay at the Hotel ZaZa was great. This hotel is exquisite and my room was immaculately cleaned. The staff was very friendly and courteous. Even the room service was on time and the food delicious. Can't wait to come back!

We really enjoyed our stay at hotel ZaZa. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. I especially enjoyed the tea/coffee service they offered for free every morning. The free shuttle took us anywhere within a five mile radius of the hotel. So even though the hotel was a little pricey we saved money on taxi fares.

Tub was clogged and ac did not work.

Booked spur of the moment after having had my wedding reception 20 years ago at the prior Warwick Hotel (same location/same building) pre-Zaza ownership. They have done a great job with the place, made it funky and fun, very colorful and with a fun vibe that makes you feel like you are not in Texas but a swanky, fun, cool place. Great location. Friendly […] staff. Went to pool for an hour breather from work and had a great cocktail and chill out session by their re-done pool area. Room was quiet. Recommend it for those looking for an alternative from downtown hotels as it was only five minutes to downtown corridor. Mehr

We only stayed one night but would love to have stayed longer. We had a King Balcony room. It would be great if the weather was a bit cooler so you could sit outside and enjoy the view but it was still nice to leave the drapes open. Loved the bed and linens, shower, decor, etc. The restaurant is super good. We'll be back ZaZa!

We stayed at Hotel ZaZa due to a recommendation from a close friend. Overall I was not impressed by the hotel. Our room was not up to standards for the price that was paid. The curtain was ripped and the A/C was broken. When checking out , I (and a couple in front of me) waited several minutes for a desk clerk. Nearby the concierge man was carrying […] on a personal conversation instead of serving clients that were waiting. I finally approached the concierge desk to ask if check out was necessary, he did not end his conversation, rather a bell man came and answered my question. They should have a sign on the front desk indicating that check out was not necessary or someone to allow guests to know this information instead of keeping us waiting at a desk. For the price of the stay, I would have expected better service. Mehr

Wonderful stay, wonderful staff. Hotel shutttle service convenient.

Weekend trip in Houston for a combined Father's Day-son's birthday excursion to listen to music at Anderson Fair...splurged on Hotel ZaZa and used one of my hotels.com rewards nights. We could not have had a better stay -- we booked a Fantastico Suite, which technically accommodates two guests in a king bed, and planned for my son to sleep on the couch […] in the living room. Upon arrival, we were greeted with champagne by the hotel concierge, a great touch after a long hot drive. At the front desk I informed Kat that we actually had an extra person and learned that Hotel ZaZa does NOT charge extra person fees. Kat also arranged to have extra bedding and pillows delivered right after we checked in. Our 9th floor suite was beautifully appointed, with amazing views overlooking the gorgeous pool area and the surrounding neighborhood and skyline. The valet parking was fast and efficient, we never had to wait more than 5 minutes for our car despite an abundance of weekend parties and other activities taking place at the hotel. I don't know if they just forgot or what, but we were never charged for the overnight parking nor for the two sodas and one beer that we consumed from the in-room minibar, even though they swiped my credit card for incidentals. The lobby was constantly bustling and noisy, but the rooms and hallways were consistently quiet and serene. The amenities at this hotel are too numerous to mention, but everything is high quality and done extremely well. Very strong attention to detail. There were TONS of staff available to assist with every little thing, and all of them were polite, courteous and eager to help. The pillows and bed linens are to die for. Only complaints I have are the beds are HARD and the length of time waiting for an elevator in this fast-paced, busy environment. Overall, an excellent experience that I would love to relive on future visits to Houston. Mehr

The hotel ZaZa in Houston is a fabulous boutique hotel located near the fine arts museum. The hotel vibe is hip and edgy but not at the expense of luxurious comfort. Room was good sized and bedding and linens of high quality. Nice amenities and very clean. I would definitely stay here again.

Initial room smelled of cigarette smoke, and had to change to a smaller room as no other rooms were available. Hotel was right next to the Houston Museum of Fine Arts, which is why we chose it. However, the room rates, restaurant and room service are all overpriced for what you get. Even the valet parking was expensive.

I booked my room at ZaZa last minute and was over impressed with this hotel. It was modern, chic and everyone was so accommodating. They even gave us a complimentary drink in their swanky bar! The breakfast was divine and service was impeccable. Will definitely stay here again!

The staff was amazing and the hotel is lovely. I've NEVER had so much attention, especially as we drove up. The valet guys were fast and courteous. Everything was fine and it's a beautiful hotel. The location could not be better, especially if you intend to go to the museums, zoo or university. I used to love this hotel but over the past year it's quality is slipping. The decor is divine but the smells are killing me. Usually it's just an overpowering air freshener in the elevator but occasionally bug spray in the room itself. And this time it was SO strong I could barely stand to be in there. Thank goodness I got a balcony room, but even […] after 3 straight hours of having the door all the way open, on a windy day even, I could still smell it. I asked to change rooms and was told someone would come up to show me another room. No one ever did and it was so late I couldn't bare the though of packing up again so I fell asleep. My guest the next day complained of it too, but thankfully we could open the balcony door again until we left. Still, this is UNACCEPTABLE and seems to be a pattern lately. I won't stay there again which is such a shame as it used to be my favorite Houston hotel. Mehr

We had a great time. The hotel is fun and modern, and close to wonderful parts of Houston.

The carpet on our room was wet in certain areas??? The service at the restaurant for breakfast was a lot to be desire for. Personnel needs training. One of the elevators was out of service most of the time. The Lobby and social areas did not smell good our clean. The valet parking was not efficient. They had less people at peak hours and so many […] available when there was not need which made us feel unconfortable. I love staying at ZaZa everytime I come out to Houston. It's convenient to the hospital, shuttles take you anywhere in 5 mile radius, location is beautiful w/ museums surrounding. The pool is beautiful w/ plenty of lounging. Staff is kind. I love the intimate feeling of it. It's a great place to get away for a romantic weekend or for business. Monarch […] is delicious. It was horrible, room to close to elevator, constant noise, was awoken several times even with a do not disturb sign, horrible service. waste of money

More convenient and much more pleasant than medical center hotels. It can be busy on the weekends, with multiple events going on, so one must allow a little extra time for elevators and retrieving the car. Overall it is a fun place to stay.

Room was comfortable, clean. Seemed a bit pricy, but when you consider all the add-on expenses, it is just way too much money for what you get.... They already charge a farily high price for the room, but then the add-on expenses just push it way over the top..... The music CD in the room should be complementary, they wanted $15. Breakfast room service, […] $6 for one egg??? Come on guys, too much! Nothing complementary in the room really, even the bottled water was an extra cost! Come on guys! But what really burned me was the valet parking fees. First, there is no public parking garage within walking distance of the hotel, and I was told the fee was $25 per night to park your vehicle in their garage..... OK, whatever. But then I god the bill, $37..... HUH? $10 extra for larger vehicle (SUV) and then the valet tax. Whatever!!!! ZaZa, you are good, but not that great! Too darn expensive for what you get...... Great service at the valet and front desk. I pulled up to the valet area next to a fancy import in my VW Jetta. The valet guy opened my door, welcomed me, asked for a name on the room, and then asked if his partner could help me with bags. At the front desk, all went smooth despite the lobby being crowded with dozens of guests. Apparently, there were […] three weddings the weekend that we stayed there. All the guests from multiple weddings made for hectic elevator traffic, but the personnel were professional from check-in to check-out. One thing to keep in mind is that a petite Queen bed is about the size of a full-size, so don't expect something bigger. As a romantic getaway, this hotel suited our needs, and the ambiance was great. There is a lot of art that features nudes in a very tasteful manner, so tasteful that I would have no problem staying here with kids. Mehr

We went to Houston to consult doctors, so didn't expect to have fun. Maybe Hotel Zaza was an odd choice for that reason, but we loved it. It was a very comfortable, clean, chic room, as is the rest of the hotel. But what really made it for us was the staff. You just don't always expect glamour and warmth to go hand-in-hand, but we did not meet a single […] person at the hotel that was not friendly, interested, helpful, and accommodating. very funky hotel, great morning coffee!!! super for dogs as there are parks nearby ( homeless people which is kind of sad) but lots of park for running, walking, zoo & museums. Most of the staff bend over backwards for you, had a couple of snarky front desk people which was so out of place for the great service. We stayed 6 nights. Could have a bit […] cleaner carpet and our first room wasn't as clean as the one we moved to the next night which was perfect. Hotel ZaZa was easy to find and in a great location for us. We needed to be in the Rice U area and this was right across the street. Hotel staff was very helpful and expedient. Room was clean and modern with nice decor. Plenty of space to relax and/or work. We will definitely return.

My daughter and I chose ZaZa because it is close to Rice and she was visiting the campus. The staff was so helpful and the shuttle to the campus was a wonderful perk. It is such a lovely hotel. We loved the decor.

Really a lovely place. Wonderful staff. Free Internet. Rooms a little smallish. Absolutely first class.

The hotel was awesome and unexpected in Houston. The hotel is nicer than the pictures show. The staff is very helpful. The hotel is not walk able to anything (except a few museums). I wanted to walk to a place to get breakfast or a CVS to pick up the things I forgot. To make up for that, the hotel has three courtesy shuttles that will take you where […] you need to go. That was very nice. My shower was leaking and didn't get fixed while I was there. The pool and business center were under renovation and I would have LOVED to use the pool. It looked amazing. Stayed at Hotel ZaZa for 4 nights. Very friendly, helpful staff and best thing about the hotel (apart from having a swimming pool) is that you are offered a free shuttle service anywhere within a 5 mile radius. This is such a plus and meant we did not have to hire a car or take taxis whenever we wanted to go out to eat or go shopping during the day. Service in the hotel restaurant / lounge was poor. Once your order was in, no one checked back with you. They dress the hostesses up, but didn't bother to teach them basic serving skills and we rated them very poor.

The name says it all!!! In the Museum District, it was conveniently located. The amenities, eccentric decor and attentiveness of the staff will definitely have me returning.

Really loved my stay. The room was great. Had a wonderful view from the balcony. The bed was EXTREMELY comfortable. The folks there were tremendous. Easy to get to places from there. The rail is close. Loved the decor. Definitely will stay there again.

except for a giant roach in the room its a great place to stay. the free shuttle to restaurants, museums or pretty much anywhere within 7 miles is very convenient; service is superior; restaurant in the hotel was good but pricey

For many years we stayed at the venerable Warwick Hotel in Houston on the edge of Herman Park, the medical center and the museum district. The location is one of the best in Houston - close to restaurants, shopping, museums, etc. We stayed in our beloved hotel the last week that it was open and honestly feared the worst when we learned that it was purchased […] and would be renamed the "Zaza". We returned last week and found the hotel to be outstanding: graciously appointed and upgraded, with only the strange stock photography of various models and celebrities seeming a bit out of place. The service staff was attentive and made our stay extremely pleasant; the food service was delicious, and the pool area was as lovely as ever. Our only complaint was that the pool closes at 9:00 PM, causing us to miss many swimming opportunities under the starry Texas sky. We will return again and again to the Zaza and encourage Hotel.com customers to do the same! PS. The Zaza is a pet friendly hotel - Our Dachshund enjoyed his stay as much as we did. Mehr
