Very nice hotel near Channelside and the convention center, right on the water facing Harbour Island. The hotel service is great and very accomodating; the views from many of the rooms and the outdoor patio are just lovely. Cafe Waterside has excellent food and some vegetarian offerings that are interesting and very tasty. Champions, the sports bar, […] is loud and the food there is mediocre (even for bar food); little or no vegetarian fare here. Getting cars in and out at peak times can be frustrating, as the circle drive is crowded and can be slow moving. Mehr

Very nice weekend on the water in Tampa--- Check in and check out was very prompt. Beautiful pool and overall great stay. The valet service was very busy on Sunday and there was a long wait and quite a bit of confusion , but everyone was doing their best. Great place to stay

Everything could have been perfect if we did not have a problem our shower. We were given a Handicapped accessible room which was fine. The shower head was broken and this was not discovered until late at night. water sprayed all over the bathroom getting all our toiletries and some clothes all wet.The bathroom floor was like a wading pool. We did not […] want to change rooms at midnight. Bottom line...someone had to know of this problem before they rented the room. This could have been avoided and does not reflect what you would expect from a premium hotel. Mehr

Great hotel in the heart of downtown Tampa activity. But valet parking at the entrance is extremely congested and slow. It took me almost 30 minutes to retrieve my car one time, 20 minutes on my day of departure.

We stayed at this hotel for a conference I was attending, and I would definitely return the next time I visit Tampa. The rooms are well maintained. The breakfast buffet is delicious. The lobby is gorgeous. The bellhop and valet service members were very efficient and pleasant. All in all, this is a great facility and staff and we enjoyed our stay.

The breakfast buffet at the Waterside resturant was excellent. Lots of choices, including some that are not typical for a hotel resturant. Had dinner the sports pub in the hotel and it too was very good. What was nice about the sports pub was featured local brews on tap. The IPA they had during my stay was excellent.

For part of our stay the cold water faucets were giving out hot water and we also found it strange that the toilet was using hot water as well. Beside that, the fitness area was well equipped and the pool area was big with enough room to sit and swim. The location is really nice on the riverwalk and it is right across the street from the Tampa Bay […] Times Forum and just a short walk to Channelside where the cruise ships deport. I was attending a NHL Hockey Game at the St. Pete's Times Forum in Tampa , and wasn't familiar with the Tampa area. When i made my reservation , I asked Hotels.com to find me a Hotel within walking distance of the arena. It was unbelievable...The Hotel is directly across a Parking area / corner from the arena. I was able to arrive at the Hotel around […] 4:30 ; have a snack at the Lobby Bar ; attend the game ; and be back to the Hotel in time to have a nice late "Pub-style" Meal at the bar / restaurant , before retiring for the evening. truly a successful evening... I love the location in front of the water, the shower water was cold though.

This stay was for the Outback Bowl and festivities. The staff were very professional, except for the staff member, who found it necessary to notify us in a curt and harsh tone, that we could not take our luggage up to our room. We already loaded it on a cart, and were on our way through the 1st floor. It was our 1st time to this hotel, and we thought […] he could have been kinder, and more helpful. We were then assisted by a very kind and hospitable bellman. The decor was wonderful, we loved all the Spartan logos too. Our bed comforter was much too heavy, and did affect our sleep, due to temperature control. The food offerings and the other refreshment areas were perfect. Perhaps the bar and waitress staff could have been beefed up for this event. We waited so long in the lobby seating area for a waitress on 12/31, that my husband went to the bar and ordered, and then brought it back himself. We have stayed at Marriotts all over the US and abroad and this one rates in the top three for service, ambiance, and overall rating. We stay there at least once a year if only for a week-end. The view is wonderful and the area so close to everything. Highly recommend it.

Charging for wi-fi and parking is too high. No continental breakfast included and only single-cup coffee maker makes me think we need to book at mid-priced hotels - Hampton Inns, etc. rather than pricey Marriott.

We stayed at the hotel over New Years Eve . The fireworks display was right out our door on the intercoastals. If you are going on a cruise and need a place to stay this hotel is perfect. You can walk along the intercoatals down to the cruise ship launch site. We saw a new ship every day. The pool and pool bar are located on the roof of the 3rd floor. […] We spent quite a bit of time there. The pool is newly updated. It was just finished the day we arrived so the water was FREEZING and the hot tub wasn't working but the chairs were nice with plenty of towels and as the week went on the pool warmed up and hot tub was fixed. I must mention the valet. Most days they were over the top great but on New Years Day they were backed up over 30+ minutes and people were angry!! It was a mob scene. To sum up our experience I'd say it was inconsistent. So pay attention to whats going on and just adjust your expectations accordingly. Mehr

The problem was with the valet/bellman who we asked to secure a cab. They said it would be $20-25 to get to the stadium. They then directed us to get in a van with 11 others. On the way there our driver told us it would be $20 per person and with 4 of us it came to $80 for the 4 of us...a far cry from the $20-25 we agreed/asked for. We only wanted 1way.....so […] we were very embarrased and it caused a problem with the other riders who agreed before they got into the van. So it cost us a GREAT deal more to get to the stadium than was promised...so we have a bad tast in our mouth over this otherwise very nice hotel..... Mehr

This hotel was very nice and in a great location to access everything we needed. Staff and rooms were all great!

Excellent and very enjoyable stay. Great location with views of Bay. Would definitely recommend.

You can use the pool at the Embassy Suites a block away. Our first room was noisy, being next to the elevator shafts on the 24th floor, but they quickly gave us another, very quiet room. Wonderful breakfast buffet, though expensive.

Perfect for people looking to watch a Hockey game or even Football game. The hotel is very convieniantly located, great views, friendly staff, near some good restaurants, across the walkway to a good outdoor pub/restuarant/club for night life. Will definitely stay here next time im in Tampa.

The staff is always so friendly and helpful. We enjoy the sports bar attached to the hotel and how close we are to Channelside and the Forum

I had a very nice stay for several days at this Marriott Hotel. Ther service, staff and overall location was terrific and the hotel was impeccable in comfort and amenities.

The hotel location and the friendliness of the staff are excellent. However, it is an old building without a centralized dehumidifying system. The result is a bad mold/mildew smell throughout the hotel. You can smell it as soon as you walk through the door. My father and I both stayed there, and we both have mold allergies. We thought we could just […] push through it, but by the second day we both felt incredibly ill. If we hadn't been scheduled to leave that day, we would have switched hotels. It was really unfortunate because the hotel was otherwise a nice place to stay. Mehr

Our overall stay was great... The room, view and bed were great. I was trying to hook up the Ipod to the tv and the instructions said there was a cable supplied. I didn't see one so I was looking behind the TV stand and all I found were several used condom wrappers (in plain sight) PRETTY GROSS!!! If I could find them I'm not quite sure how the cleaning […] crew missed it. On top of that, I got my car back from the valet parking staff and the attendant told me there was something dragging under the car. Upon further inspection, The driver's side wheel well cover was ripped apart and there was a big scuff on the rim. It seems like someone hit a curb and it wasn't me. Now the claims department for this company is deciding whether or not they will accept responsibility. The hotel does not offer any other option other than valet so unless you arrive via taxi you are forced into using their service. I spoke to the hotel manager and he was very nice and genuinely concerned so I feel a bit guilty even leaving a review but had I known what I am sharing, I probably would have opted for a different hotel. Very nice hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Good food and fun sports bar. Our only complaint is that our bed was not very comfortable. Overall I would stay here again and would recommend it to others.

The Marriott was just as pictured and described. The staff was very pleasant and the valet guys were very quick and friendly. The room forte most part was clean but the bathroom toilet was soiled. I was exhausted so I cleaned it with the lysol can I carry on my trips. It wasn't that bad but for the price I paid to stay the night... It's a must include […] in the review. Overall it was quiet, nice view of the city and walking distance to the venue! Mehr

Although the hotel was nice the hotel restaurants were very expensive. The pool was too cold to enjoy or swin in and the sauna/spa wasn't even working. I was there with children and they were really looking forward to the pool and sauna. It was one of the reasons we chose this hotel over others with no pool/sauna.

Excellent hotel. Easy access to shopping, acquarium, convention center, and Ybor City. All of the previously mentioned areas can be visited using the trolley system which is less than the cost of a six pack. Only drawback is the pool area is not accessible due to renovation, however arrangements have been made to use the Embassy suites pool.

Very beautiful hotel with every amenity you could think of. Great views and close walking distance to downtown Tampa attractions. Only downside was the additional charge of $20/ night for valet parking which is your only option for parking at the hotel.

The Marriott failed to advise us that there would be construction worker starting at 0900. My husband had just gotten home from a tour in afghanistan and this is a huge time difference. The notice of construction was on a piece of paper in the room AFTER I had checked in and paid. This is a 27 floor building and they should have located guests on the […] opposite side of construction. the desk also failed to make it right with us. TERRIBLE service. TERRIBLE treatment of the guest. Stay accross the street at the Embassy next time. The Marriott apparently has terrible management. Mehr
