Was great - the staff was friendly and very helpful

I booked this room based upon the reviews of others, and I was very disappointed. The value most certainly was not there, it was overpriced in my opinion. I understand they may be trying to upgrade the hotel, but doing it piecemeal is not working. We were greeted with a giant pile of carpet and padding they had ripped out of the hotel and stored on […] the only green patch of landscaping around the place. This did not appear to be a very temporary situation as it looked rained on. The check-in process took a long time, some computer issues. Staff was folding what were hopefully clean towels in the dining/breakfast area, right on the tables. The room smelled stale, it's clear the rooms are abused by guests and the second I saw the bottle opener (!) attached to the sink cabinet I knew why. Everything related to decor in the hotel clashes - the walls, curtains, carpet, you name it. It's obvious portions of the teal green elevator were renovated separately from the burgundy carpet inside. It's possible to have a budget hotel that doesn't have random paint drips on the walls and handprints on the windows. There were two completely mismatched chairs in the room that look like they have never been cleaned. The carpet in the room was gross - no bare feet on that. The breakfast was just cereal and bagels - most of the items listed on the breakfast menu were not available that day. I do not recommend this hotel. The diamond rating displayed on the plaque in the lobby was very puzzling. Mehr

The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, and we really enjoyed the pool. Having a fridge & microwave in the room were nice perks, and breakfast was great! My kiddos also enjoyed the cookies & popcorn served in the evening.

Econolodge provided excellent breakfast. Room amendities: Refrigerator and Microwave came in handy. Hotel staff were very friendly. Highy recommend chain to family and friends. Will visit again in the future.

My stay was good.

We stayed here for one night as we were driving across the country. Good hotel for the money; served the purpose. Clean, comfortable and quiet and the front desk staff was very polite and helpful.

ON THE FIRST NIGHT OF OUR STAY AT ECONO LODGE THEIR WAS A MAN SITTING ON THE WALL RIGHT OUTSIDE OF THE ENTERANCE AND HE WAS CONSUMING ALCOHOL (BEER). HE HAD ANOTHER SIX PACK NEXT TO HIM. I INFORMED THE DESK CLERK ABOUT HOW IT MADE ME AND MY FAMILY FEEL VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. THE DESK CLERK TOLD ME THAT THE GENTLEMAN WAS AN EMPLOYEE THAT WAS OFF DUTY AND […] THAT HE WOULD TAKE CARE OF IT. THERE IS A PLACE AND TIME FOR THIS ACTIVITY AND THIS WAS NOT THE PLACE NOR TIME. OUR NEXT TRIP TO IOWA WE MAY OR MAY NOT CONSIDER MAKING FUTURE RESERVATIONS WITH ECONO LODGE. MY COMPANY DOES NOT ALLOW EMPLOYEES TO POSSESS OR CONSUME ALCOHOL ON COMPANY PROPERTY. Very comfortable bed and quiet. Towels and room was clean, bathroom well stocked. Only minor items were the TV service did not match the scheduled programming card in the room and no regular coffee bags in the room, only decaf. Overall great stay.
