It has exceeded my expectations. My friends had commented that it is a very old and small hotel. But when I first arrived at the lobby, I'm impressed with its modern layout. It looks like it has been newly renovated. The rooms are spacious and not as small as those typical hk hotel rooms. Totally enjoyed my stay and will definitely stay there again […] !! Mehr

A comfortable, clean and friendly hotel in a quiet location just off Nathan Road in Kowloon. Free water, slippers and shopping bag. Many shops and restaurants nearby and a cheap taxi or bus ride to the Harbour area. Easily accessible from the airport via airport express and free shuttle bus. (Keep your plane ticket and rail ticket to access the bus). […] On the downside is the atrium coffee/snack bar which is cold and bleak although perhaps this is welcome on very hot days. We also found the lack of a proper lounge area frustrating. Mehr

This hotel is overpriced plain and simple. The room did not have a single item hanging from the walls. Okay bed. So so neighborhood.

Disappointing. In this day and age, having to pay $12.50AUD a day for wifi is ridiculous, not even any free wifi at reception, had to pay to use business centre to get internet and then pay for any printouts boarding passes etc. Had just been to 5 other countries and had free wifi in all hotel rooms. Everything seemed like a money grab. Went to use […] "Hotel Pool" and it was closed for a swimming club to use for 1/2 of every day. Furniture in the room was the wrong size so that you couldn't get past the end of the bed because the chest of drawers was too close to bed end. Bathroom was dated and had mould between tiles. Hotel itself was not "terrible" but overall it was not a great experience. Mehr

This hotel has very small rooms but location is very good.

I booked a room for 3 people recently and was told by email that the room will be very small if I put another extra bed. So I am wxpecting a very cramped room. To my delight and surprise, they gave me a room with a double bes and a single bed and the room is very spacious even with our 3 luggages. The staff also are friendly and helful especially the […] concierge who help to fix our luggage lock, and help with some other stuff as well. The location of hotel is also very convenient. The Yau ma Tei MTR is only across the road. Lots of eateries and shops around as well. Overall a very good experience and would definitely stay there again and recommend to others. The hotel was located at a great location with d main street shopping belts just minutes away. The MTR is also located less than 5 min walk away. Hotel staff was great in letting my group (3 rooms) check in at 1245hrs and a late checkout at 1400hrs. The hotel rooms were small which is not unlike most hotels in HK but one of d rooms we got do not have […] any windows and I would recommend those with claustrophobia to make a request if your condition is bad. It's ideally located just 1 min walk away from Yau Ma Tei MTR station, and 3 min walk away from the Cityflyer bus-stop where you can take the airport bus. It's also extremely convenient to the popular hubs, like Women's Street and electronics stretch just a street away; Nathan Road, a busy thoroughfare of shops, is perpendicular to it; and Men's Street […] (Temple Street) is just 5 min walk away. The service of hotel staff is decent and efficient. The check-in and concierge are both sufficiently manned and are always helpful if you have any query. The room is also of decent size considering HK hotel rooms are typically very small. About the negative points: (1) The absence of heater: the room can get quite cold at night if you are visiting HK during cooler months. (2) No free internet service: the hotel is in the midst of hooking up the entire premises for broadband internet by Aug 2012 - our room on 16/F was already broadband-abled - but unfortunately it will not come for free. That said, you can get a fairly cheap prepaid mobile broadband card in HK. I got a prepaid one2free card from 1010, which the 7-day plan cost only HK$78. Would recommend Cityview if you are visiting during the hotter months, but not so much for colder periods. Mehr

I've stayed at a few different hotels in Hong Kong over the years and The Cityview is comparable to most but only half the price! Just off Nathan Road, really close to the Ladies Market and Train Station. I would definitely stay here again.

The location of this hotel is excellent except for the internet service in the room the signal is almost zero. Had highlighted the problem to the hotel front desk staff..

Cityview is located very near to Yaumatei station. I have been back many time due to its great location right in many Kowloon shopping and eating areas. I found their room size relatively bigger than others due to its original design but have been renovated. We were put on a smoking floor and upon us insisting, they put us to a suite in a non-smoking […] floor. I thought they should have done that in the first place then avoiding upgrading us due to lack of rooms in on-smoking floor. Could have delighted us then keeping the suite empty in the first place. This is a great little Hotel for the price. Enjoyed having a drink at the bar and enjoyed having the access to the Spa and Sauna. The bedroom was a good size and was very quiet. I found all the staff to be friendly. Cityview would be my number 1 choice, next time I visit Hong Kong. This is very close to the MTR or a good 20min walk down to Harbour  […] City. Mehr

Overall it is quite a good experience. Their services are quite good and the location is very convenient, close to everything, restaurants, shops, subway, etc.

Excellent value. Staff very helpful. Good location - helps if one knows the area as it is a little farther from most tourist spots. Has all necessary amenities without the cost.

A very good affortable location close to food and shopping in the Mong Kok area. The experience of the night markets and food in the area was out-of-this world. Highly recommended for short stay. Proximity to the MRT is such a bonus. At the end, the airport transfer was such an easy no fuss affair. I truly enjoyed my stay at the CityView.Thank you

Fantastic location, comfortable and clean accommodation, friendly service and overall great value for money ... would happily use again.

This is the second time i am staying in this hotel during my stay at Hong Kong.The cleanliness level of the room is acceptable and the hotel staff are helpful.We choose this hotel because of its location near the heart of Kowloon island ,Hong Kong.It is also near to Yau Ma Tei MTR which is very convenient for us to travel to other part of Hong Kong.The […] only complaint I have is that the bath room is a bit small and the room rate is quite expensive. I would say the hotel is convenient to travellers for short stay. Perhaps not so friendly for family wanting adjoining rooms.

Great location, great price. Room is a little small but good enough. it was cold when I stayed there, I don't think they have heater though.

This hotel is very well located. Getting there is very easy. Take the express train from the airport and then the free transfer to the hotel (can't remember the shuttle number, but the staff at the station were very helpful and provided guidance.) From the time that you leave the airport until you walk in the front door of the hotel should be less than […] 45 minutes (closer to 30.) We picked the upgrade package through hotels.com to get internet access and the breakfast buffet - it has plenty of choices for a westerner or you can be adventurous and try the dim sum (delish!) The hotel is a 30 second walk from the Yau Ma Tei MTR station (subway system.) Get a tourist day pass for a reasonable price at the station and you can ride almost anywhere for 24 hrs. The red line goes directly downtown to the Central station in 4 stops. Take the red line one stop north to Mong Kok and visit the 'Ladies Market' (it's not just for ladies!) or one stop south to Jordan to visit the night market (wait until the evening!). You can also go one stop south of Jordan to the Tsim Sha Tsui station and walk down to the waterfront (with a spectacular view of downtown.) This is also the location of a 15 minute nightly laser light show at 8:00. If you are looking for a custom made suit (good prices and quality) look along Nathan Road just to the north of the Tsim Sha Tsui station. For those who don't like street markets, walk 3 or 4 blocks west of the Tsim Sha Tsui station and you will find an enormous shopping mall with every high-end store known to man. Don't be afraid to take the subway. All of the announcements are made in Cantonese, Mandarin and English. They are very clean, punctual, cheap, convenient and safe. Actually, I was very surprised at how clean and orderly it is in Hong Kong. Safety was never a worry. For those who are little more adventurous, take the Red line north to Lai King, transfer to the Orange line and go to Tung Chung (end of the line) on Lantau Island. From there, yo Mehr

Very convenient location, just next to the Yau Ma Tei MTR station. Reasonably priced too! Will recommend to friends who are travelling to Hong Kong.

I think the floor was softer than the bed. Typical small HK hotel room, nice bathroom. Slow elevators, no good views, and they charge and arm and a leg for internet access. So much for any perks of staying on the "Executive Floor"!

Hotel location is superb. Easy to getting around HK with MTR just next to hotel... about 1-2mins walk to the nearest MTR Yau Ma Tei, walking distance to Mongkok, temple st etc. Room is clean and comfortable space.

Clean hotel, good location in reference to the MTR station, may have paid more than going price, other hotels in this price range had much more amenitites. Pool and work-out facilities not up to value of the cost of the room.

We had two separate reservations on this hotel during our stay. During the first reservation, we were upgraded to a superior room and were not told by the staff that was taken place. When we came back to complete the second reservation, we were placed in a much smaller room - too small in fact. Good location, close to markets, MTR and Nathan Rd. Clean, reasonable service. The room was quite small with hardly any room to walk around the bed without hitting the wall mounted TV. Bathroom was good. Shared swimming pool with YMCA. Would recommend

As a business traveler the City View with it's central location just steps away from the Yau Ma Tei MTR station was incredibly convenient. Shopping at Mong Kok is just a short walk up Nathan. The hotel staff was friendly and very helpful. The room was clean and efficient. If you are looking for large room or 5 star opulence, the City View is not the […] hotel for you. The rooms are small with no mini bar or extra amenities. If you are looking for a clean efficient place to sleep close to shopping and transportation at reasonable price, then the City View is a good choice. Mehr

Hotel Reception very nice, no problems overall with english. While I like to know hotels have security, I found the amount of it somewhat intrusive, as though we're being watched, it's a bit off-putting. Breakfast area is nice / adequate, good selection on the buffet and good value for what they charge. Cordial service. Re cleanliness is ok, the carpets […] could use a good wash, I would describe them as mediocre. The Yau Ma Tei subway is steps away, 10 minute walk to the Ladies Market, no great restaurants at all in the area, so be ready to travel to Tsim Sha Tsui, which is 2 subway stops away (not bad). My only issue is the size of the room, which by any standards including HK was seriously tiny. Their rates are pretty good for that basic room, however, I would want a larger area, which then makes it too expensive and you can find other hotels for better prices at the larger room size. I would recommend it on service, if you want to stay in that area, but the tiny room turned me off. Mehr

The City View. Located a block away from the often crowed Nathan Road. Hotel is located within the former HK YMCA building, the pictures provided online doesn't really do it justice. The lobby is very nice and the room are good. Relic (furniture) from the 80's can still be found inside the room as a night table. The bathroom fixtures can benefit greatly […] from an upgrade. Room size is acceptable for a HK hotel. Concierge service is great and very attentive. Warm smiles can been seen and felt from all of the (encountered) employees. As for connivance, the subway station is just across the street, right next to 7/11. "Welcome" the supermarket is also located across the street and open till late PM. The neighborhood is packed with shops and eateries. The nearby shops are less foreign tourist oriented with less major (high dollar) brand name. For local sight seeing, just simply follow Nathan road down towards the water for a leisurely walk. The closer you get to the water, the more expansive store you'll find. Overall, it was a good hotel, great service, awesome location. Rate is comparable to standard 3 to 4 stars hotel rate here in USA. I reserved my with only 2 wks advance. Wanted Nathan Hotel but City View is well worth the visit. Mehr
