The room was nice and appeared clean. On the last day , however, I discovered a used condom wrapper by my bed that didn't belong to me! Check in process was awful! It took about 1 hour to Check in because clerk said she didn't have correct info and made me wait forever!

. When I booked my reservation on line with the Masters Inn I was fully aware that it was an economy lodge. I was in town to tour USC and I am on a fixed budget. I was very disappointed by the accommodations and especially my treatment by the staff. My air conditioning wasn’t working and the bath tub did not drain. After much “to do” my request was […] granted to switch rooms. The cold water in the second room did not work at all. The staff was not willing to resolve the situation and the manager was unavailable. After trying for hours to get a room with a working bathroom I checked out. I have stayed in numerous economy lodges before and have always had a good experience. I was extremely disappointed with my room and treatment at the Masters Inn. I did contact the corporate office to file a complaint. The customer service representative was very helpful. She addressed my concerns and assisted in resolving the situation. Mehr

It is an adequate place to stay, which is not a resounding endorsement. There is a problem with the neighborhood kids sneaking into the pool so the answer was to issue a pool pass to all guests. The Internet connection was down on all 3 days I stayed there - the first day, it was not available even before a storm hit later in the evening. The second stay (2 days), I never did get access. They only admitted that there was a problem as I was checking out.

I stayed at another Master's Inn in Spartanburg, SC, previously. These properties are great for an economical stay of a night or two. Beds are comfortable, rooms are spic and span, and the cooling units work magnificently. Desk personnel are professional and responsive. Wi-fi was not working, but we only stayed one night, so it may not be the most ideal […] location for a stop if you rely heavily on wi-fi. It's not the RITZ Carlton but it also cost less than one day of parking at those super nice hotels. TV in my room was more than adequate with 40+ channels. Nice hot water in the shower and the bed was adequate. Very nice surrounding area, for the price I will stay again.

the bathroom door didn't close all the way, there was no exhaust fan, they only gave us 2 towels everyday even though I repeatedly requested 5 as there were 4 of us staying in the room and I have very long hair requiring an extra towel. there were no hours posted on the pool and it only seemed to be open at random times.

Low budget motel. It was a bed to sleep in

This had everything a standard hotel would/should, while still at a great price and location very convenient to downtown Columbia! I had no problems, and was very satisfied!

The pool was the only good thing about the the place. Way too much local traffic, people walking by room all night loud talking. Cursing about the size of the rock they just bought. Not a family enviroment. I wouldn't take my children there ever. It s not safe.

It was an outstanding bargain.

Hotel was kept clean amd mantained well. However the refrigerater didn't work. Staff was frendly and very helpful. Great expirence

you pay cheap you get cheap the rooms ould have been a little cleaner stayed a couple of days no clean linen was given if only place to stay would stay again but would clean my on room again like i did

The room had no clock. When I requested a clock I was informed they did not have any. I could get a wake up call. In the morning when I went to take a shower the hot water knob went around and around and not water came out. I was in a hurry so I did not call to complain. I dressed and left. I informed the front desk clerk when I checked out.

When I reached the building I thought I was at the wrong place. Wasn't what I expected. The room was not up to date. The bed was extremely stiff, rust lining along the tub; not quite what I want to re-picture right now. Location was pretty boring. Not much to do in that area. I always had to drive to other cities or states to sight see. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again. It was very convenient to where we needed to be and it was clean. Those are the 2 positives. Otherwise, this motel needs repair. Only 1 outlet worked to use my hairdryer & charge our phones. The shower was either scalding or freezing. The "one bed" room is a very small double bed.

This was the worst motel I have ever been to in my life. We felt unsafe from the moment we pulled up. The room was dirty. When we opened the fridge their was an open can of budlight in there. There was pubic hair all over the floor in the bathroom. We heard everything in the rooms beside us. Everytime they opened their doors ours would open some as […] well. We had our three year old son with us and felt so uncomfortable and nervous with him staying we ended up leaving after just 30 minutes and lost the money we paid. We knew we could not stay there all night. When we pulled up there was a drunk man yelling at the 70 year old security guard they had sitting outside. We did not feel safe for one minute while we were there (keep in mind we were only there about 30 to 45 minutes). I would never reccomend this motel to anybody. In my opinion this place should be closed down and nobody should ever ever stay here. Mehr

The room was ok for the price we pay. The only thing missing was an iron board, I had to go buy one to iron my clothes. The pool was clean, the room was equiped with micowave and a fridge, so we had the oportunity to have our own food and beverages inside the room all time. For the price i paid there's what more could i expect? The a/c wasn't cooling properly and the carpet turned my white socks into a dark brown. The room had a fridge and a microwave that worked. The bed was comfortable but the blankets should be bigger. Cleaner carpets and colder a/c and i would've gave this hotel a perfect rating. The rooms did not look anything like the pictures on the website. The receptionist was quite pleasant. Since the bed linen in the first room were not clean, we were given another room for the night. The second room was clean, but everthing was outdated (especially the hard bed mattress). There were people hanging out in the parking lot throughout the […] night and we were kind of nervous while getting in our car. All I can say is...."You get what you pay for. Nothing special. Worth the money and would absolutely stay again if back in columbia. I am a traveler that would rather spend more money around town than on the place I only plan on sleeping at.

Someone was having a loud argument in a room nearby. We couldn't figure out what room, but it was annoying. Otherwise, this was a typical no frills room for a good price. Very convenient location to USC, which is why we were there.

The price was good which is why I booked this hotel but the shower was very low pressure, the walls had brown stains in the cracks and the lighting was bad. The towels were the size of a foot towel, but I suppose that you have to expect some of this with the price you pay.

Dislikes: The TV had a black square in the center of the tube showing only 1 inch of picture around the outside. Maintenance did correct the problem by reprogramming the TV, but the problem returned the next morning when I turned it on. The beds were very hard. So if you like a hard bed, then they are OK for you. My son and I do not like them that hard. […] The towels were very thin and worn.
