Lake Hotel - Killarney

This hotel is very comfortable, full of character and in a magnificent location. Views are exquisite from the rooms, bar and restaurant. Staff were friendly, courteous & helpful.

Loved this hotel. I easily walked to tourist sites in Killarney National Park, close to town but has the secluded feeling of the country. Great service from the staff. Didn't want to leave and can't wait to return.

This was the best hotel that I stayed I during my family's 10 day vacation in Ireland. It has a beautiful setting on the lake and the rooms are wonderful. The hotel is gorgeous on the outside and inside. The hotel is clearly the best hotel in Killarney.

We stayed in the Lake Hotel as we were going to a concert in the nearby (10min walk) INEC. It was the perfect location for this as we didnt have huge crowds staying at our hotel, staff were friendly and it had a relaxed atmosphere.. The views and hiking / cycling trails around were brilliant.. We will be back!!

overall is excellence. the staff is very friendly and helpful. the price is reasonable. the room is big, clean and nice. recommended for people with own transport coz it is slightly far from central.

The hotel is in a beautiful setting and our room was very comfortable and spacious. The restaurant food was very very good and we loved our hostess and waiter. They were outstanding and friendly without being intrusive.

I would have loved to been able to rate my stay higher, but I had an incident with my shower that didn't get addressed very well. However, other than that, I loved this hotel. The view from my balcony was stunning. When I booked online I just took a basic room. At check in they said I could upgrade my room to a lake view for a nominal fee....it was […] WELL worth it! I also have to mention how wonderful Ben was in the bar. He was very personable, and helped me figure out what to do with the limited time I had in Killarney. If you want to be in the National Park, and don't mind being a short cab ride from the downtown area, then I'd highly recommend this hotel. Mehr

If you're visiting Killarney, stay here. It's walking distance to downtown but you'd never know it. The grounds are secluded with magnificent lake views and a feeling of being in the countryside. We enjoyed sitting in the parlor before the fire (even in July!). If you enjoy house tours, be sure to visit Muckross House.

my wife and i stayed in the lakes hotel for two nights found the hotel staff very nice and the hotel surrounding excellent,however for the cost and with it being a four star hotel i would expect a swimming pool.Taxi from hotel to town expensive,overall excellent weekend.

Just stayed at the Lake Hotel. First time to Ireland. I loved the grounds including the view of the castle and loch. The hotel was clean and the rooms were very large and comfortable. The pub and restaurant were wonderful. No complaints. Only compliments for this hotel from me.

Gorgeous hotel with stunning views & friendly staff... will definitely stay there again.

Room was great. The bar & restaurant areas have beautiful views of the lake and mountain backdrop. Staff very gracious, food great. Guinness is much better here than in the U.S. The walk out to the lake and castle is magnificent, and hotel has proximity to nearby Killarney National park , which is not to be missed.

Great service. Awesome staff. Beautiful old historic hotel in excellent condition. Couldn't ask for a better location or view. It is about 1 1/2 miles from town but my little girl (8) and I walked it no problem. It is an absolutely gorgeous place to stay. There are swans on the lake and deer in the woods outside. A castle ruin sits on the property overlooking […] the lake. The mountain, lake, and surrounding views are amazing. Breakfast buffet offers many food choices for everyone. Bar and restaurant food are a little strong for kids but they will accommodate if you ask. Mehr

The location was superb.Even in poor weather it is a sight not to be missed. The reception staff were especially friendly and efficient. Breakfast was very good and reasonably priced. It is to be hoped that the 'old world' charm of the hotel will not be changed. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. An excellent advertisement for Ireland.

This outstanding hotel sits on border of the Killarney National Park, as well as the shore of one of th e large lakes in the park. We stayed 4 nights and given the good price we got we would stay th ere again. If the price is high there are other large, high quality hotels and B&B's in the immediate vicinity. The limited remaining ruins of a 13th century […] castle sit on the grounds. The hotel is outstanding, very private, being surrounded with large grounds of grass and trees. The room rate does not include breakifast, which was 10 Euros for the cold and 12 for full cooked breakfast. The array of foods was quite satisfactory. The hotel is located very close to the village of Killarney, so it is only minutes from those and other attractions. Ross Castle is down the road about a mile one direction, and Muckross House about two miles the other direction. It's close to everything, as well as being on t he Ring of Kerry drive and walking paths. Mehr

Recently stayed here had a lovely time despite the weather. My wife enjoyed some treatments and I enjoyed the outside hot tub and the spectacular views of the lake and mountains. The Bar was a bit quiet but it just meant I went home well rested. A bit of a walk from the town centre but the location is beautiful,its probably a fare trade off. my stay at the lake hotel was perfect couldnt have hoped for better!! i usually dont fill in these but i had to because i enjoyed my stay so much. we even stayed an extra night because it was so beautiful and the staff were very pleasant and helpful especially the receptionists thank you :)

The hotel is set in beautiful surroundings and is perfect for a romantic weekend, or even week, away. My only criticism is of the restaurant which, when we went there, was overcrowded and pretty awful really. The food was very bad and the service disjointed. I would definitely recommend the hotel, but maybe give the restaurant a miss.

the lake hotel in killarney is a stunning hotel that ooze's character and class, its lakeside location and views are second to none, warm and friendly staff in every department, beautiful bar and breakfast room with stunning views of the lakes and mountains, a fantastic experience that i will repeat.

Our stay was very enjoyable. Beautiful setting. Staff very helpful and always smiling.We would go again to the Lakes Hotel and would be happy to recommend it to friends.

This was an excellent choice! The grounds are gorgeous and the center of town is a short drive away. If you'd prefer not to have to drive back, there are cabs available. The food was fine and the restaurant setting was lovely. Do spring for a lake view -- it's more than worth it.

If you're going to Killarney, you must stay at Lake Hotel. The hotel is great. Awesome common areas, too. I took a book downstairs and read in from the of the fireplace. I recommend taking an early morning walk on the lake pathway behind the hotel...I saw lots of deer and other wildlife. The National Park is within walking distance and it's worth the […] walk (or take a jaunt car). My husband and I had dinner in the restaurant at the hotel and it was absolutely delicious. Overlooking an old ruin and a beautiful lake with green hills as a backdrop we wanted to stay longer if our schedule had permitted. Lovely hotel, large comfortable rooms and a dining room that offers an excellent dining experience overlooking the lake.

Amazing Hotel, fantastic view from our room right over the lake Take a walk out to the castle as well, makes for great pictures. We only had breakfast there and it was fantastic. I had a spa treatment and this was arranged very quickly and efficently by reception at last minute Spa was gorgeous and the treatment was lovely.
