Hampton Inn And Suites New Orleans Convention Center - New Orleans

The only reason it didn't get a 5 is because I tried to get my room at 1 pm which is technically 2 hours before check in, but check out is at 11, and I find it hard to believe that there wasn't a single room ready 2 hours after checkout!

Room floor was very filthy and dirty odor as soon I entered the room. No drinking water in the roo. Very disappointed, would not stay again nor recommend to anyone.

We enjoyed our stay very much. I would suggest the hotel getting a van to drop tourists off on Canal Street and return to hotel. That would save on alot of walking and aid the tourists who would return. The hotel was very clean, breakfast was great. The only drawback was our bathroom door could not close all the way and it was inconvenient.

Everything was as it should be with the room. Front desk staff was very helpful. Happily stored frozen Louisiana specialty foods for us in their large freezer so we could take with us on our trip

We're a family of four (kids are 6 and 10), and we stayed at this hotel on the weekend after Mardi Gras. It was really a great hotel for us - nice and friendly staff, close to the riverwalk with just a 20 min walk into the French Quarters, and within short distance of nice restaurants. I would love to stay here again. Two downsides; our room had just […] two double beds, I thought I had read queen size, but apparently not. Some like to sleep close to eachother, but we don't. :) There was definitely room to put queen size beds there. The other thing was that they closed down the entire pool area for a wedding reception Saturday afternoon/evening. I just don't think you should be able to do that. The rooms were very nice and the breakfast was well above normal for free and included. It had pastries, waffles, oatmeal already made with lots of toppings, eggs, sausages, biscuits and gravy, coffees and juices. You need to drive to the French Qtr and other attractions. Very easy to get to from i 10. Little walk to French quarter. Can walk there but you'll cab back. 10 bucks .. But highly recommend a pedicab . Guys in yellow shirts on bicycles!

We chose this location because it is close to where we wanted to walk to view the parades. We also chose it because it offered garage parking which was a load off of our mind or so we thought. The valet parking IS expensive and is qn inconvenience. We wanted to place some things into our vehicle after settling in but decided against it because of the […] Procedure involved with valet parking. We asked upon arrival if we could park our own vehicle and was told this was not an option. Plus we had to remove our vehicle about 8am the morning of Marfil Gras and search for a secure spot to park it because check out time is 11am and the parades start at 8am. We were going home that evening and it seems we would have needed to reserve a room for Wednesday just to keep our vehicle in the garage at the hotel. We were charged $44.00 for parking. This covered Monday check-in 3pm and check-out Tuesday which is 11am. The lobby was comfortable and very inviting especially coming out of the cold night after our first night of parades. There was hot chocolate and coffee waiting plus a few apples. The breakfast was spectacular! The selections from hot to cold was fantastic. The bathroom needs a heater in it. It's very cold and uninviting. The room is advertised to suit 5 but not at all comfortably. There is no sofa in that room and we had to sleep 3 in one bed and 2 in the other one. I would stay here for another reason but not for Mardi Gras and definitely not with 5 people. Mehr

My wife and I took a quick trip to New Orleans so we only stayed overnight. The hotel was conveniently situated to the French Quarter and we liked the Valet Parking Garage on site. (While there we used local taxis to come and go.rather than try to drive in the local traffic.) Our room and the entire hotel was spotless and the staff was courteous professional, […] and polite. The Full Breakfast provided was outstanding. Unfortunately for us we did not have enough time to see or use any of the other facilities that the location had to offer. We plan on returning when we have more time to explore the city and will positively stay there again. Mehr

Great hotel and great price, especially since it was Mardi Gras season! Just a little too far from the French Quarter, but a taxi ride was only $10.

This hotel had some character, being a former cotton warehouse that retained the wood floors and some other characteristics in the lobby. The neighborhood is great for conventions - some food and bars in walking distances... notably Cochon. We stayed here the last night only of our stay in NOLA; it was cheaper that hotels in the Quarter for a weekend […] night. I've stayed in this neighborhood before (but closer to the CBD) and walked to the sights. However, this hotel would have been a hike if we'd stayed here the whole trip. It worked great for us though as getting a 6 a.m. cab for the airport was not a hassle and we were able to quickly eat something from the free breakfast (even at 6 on a Saturday) and we make our Cochon reservations for our final night, knowing it was close by. Nice spread at breakfast, btw; and we were able to get an early check-in. Room was comfy and quiet. Mehr

Loved it there so much we changed our plans to stay longer and to return to this hotel after our visit to our family in Texas!

Nice room, good restaurants within half mile that we could walk to for dinner, great breakfast on site, and best of all, we rolled our suitcases about 3 blocks to the pier for our cruise!

This hotel is a wonderful combination of cleaness, comfort and elegance. Only parking is too expensive compared to night stay fares... Delicious breakfast

This hotel is conveniently located close to many must-see sights and the cruise terminal, convention center, river walk, and French Quarter.

We chose the Hampton Inn for its location close to the dock for the cruise ships. It was so close that we could walk to the ship with our luggage. The free breakfast buffet was outstanding. We went to New Orleans for an overnight visit as a Christmas treat for our family. We had a great time. It was so easy to get to/from the hotel. We really loved our stay and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend this hotel to others.

The Hampton Inn & Suites in New Orleans, Louisiana in Convention Center is one of the best hotels I have stayed in. The hotel was great and comfortable. The downfall was that they charge $30 for valet service if you have a car. No choice.

checked in around 12 pm. Very friendly staff. Got our room right away. Room is very clean and beds were comfortable. Lobby had coffee, and fruit. That gave us some time for lunch. Staff gave us maps and info etc.. to get to the french quarter. came back to the hotel had a nice snack cookies hot chocolate in the lobby. Really a nice welcome. Felt at […] home . This hotel location is ideal for cruisers or NOLA visitors. Comvention center is next door. check out was a breeze. Staff let us use vallet service to store our luggage after coming back from the cruise which was very helpful and again very courteous staff. I have so many good things to say about this hotel. great location for a convention center event, but a distance from the rest of NOLA... several good restaurants close by, walkable distance to bourbon (if you're not wearing heals), and adequate room - pretty standard frig, microwave, bed... bathroom provided a lot of counter space.

room very clean; welcome very pleasant; efficient check-in; breakfast plentiful. Attractive location close to but not in the middle of all the action. Only blip the grumpy bar tender....but otherwise a great base for exploring NOLA and very good value

Hotel was fine, clean and friendly. Parking is $30 a day for Valet with no other options, but still cheaper and more convienient than any garages in the area. Rooms were short on outlets> there was free wi-fi, but nowhere to plug my laptop in. Otherwise great stay, close to Quarter and riverwalk.

Rarely do I give a high rating on anything. However, this hotel was phenominal. The desk staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The valet staff was also very pleasant and extremely fast. We used the hotel for a one night train layover. It was a $10 cab ride to the hotel, close to what the hotel estimated. Property very nice and very well maintained. Breakfast was great. Riverfront Trolley provides easy and cheap access to French Quarter. All in all, it was a great choice for us.

Very comfortable, in a restored warehouse, very nicely done, right across from the Convention Center. Great breakfast variety, though the omelets seemed to be machine made in a foam rubber factory and yet fairly tasty! This is a great hotel for conventioning. If you are taking a cruise or wanting to be in downtown New Orleans, this is THE place to stay! We were greeted by a polite valet who took our keys, gave us directions to the front desk and asked us about our trip. The front desk was informative, polite and courteous. Our stay at Hampton Inn was just great. All the help were outstanding in every way. It made our visit to New Orleans very memorable.

We stayed one night here while we were waiting for our cruise to depart the following day. The front desk staff was wonderful in keeping us informed of departure times and transportation options, as well as recommending places to eat and sight see in the short time we had. It was a beautiful building and well taken care of!

I was there last week for a convention across the street. Expense-wise, by far the best deal within walking distance. Comfortable and clean. By far one of the best breakfast's I've had at any hotel, top notch and FREE! Location is a little uncomfortable, as the area appears seedy, but I had no problems. House keeping staff placed the night lock in place with the door opened . so the door wouldn't close completely and stayed opened as the staff when in and out . The only thing is the door doesn't slam but the wall shakes when the door hits the night lock . Maybe a door stop or a towel under the door .

We stayed here before and after our cruise and loved it. It is a beautiful hotel, well appointed with great perks. A shuttle to the cruise and wonderful hot breakfast included really rounded out our stay. My kids loved the high beds and even higher ceilings in our room and the pool was fantastic!
