The Park Inn is currently undergoing some much needed renovation work. If you're lucky enough to get a renovated room then this is probably a great hotel. Unfortunately I didn't which meant that the room was a bit tired. The staff are very friendly and the room service is prompt and the food tasty. It's also quite good value. On arrival the hotel looked stunning. Our room wasn't ready so we had to wait 15 minutes. We had requested a cot and a fridge as we were bringing my friends 2 year old son with us, however these had not been sent through to the hotel. The lady on reception was lovely though and managed to get this sorted for us. When we got to our room we found the […] air con was broke but there was a fan in the room, (not that it helped much) and there wasn't any spare pillows to put one in the cot. We were only using the hotel as a base to see my friends mum in Whiston hospital so on the way out we asked the lady in reception if she could please put a spare pillow in our room, which she said wasn't a problem. We arrived back at 10.30pm to find a pillow hadn't been dropped off, i went downstairs and asked again, we waited a further half an hour without any sign of one, (the baby wouldn't sleep without it) so my friend went down again and asked, 20 minutes later it finally arrived. However on the plus side we got a great deal on the breakfast, £5 each instead of £10 each and the baby got his free. The pool was fantastic and the staff there were very helpful. All in all we had a pleasant time in this hotel and would go back again. Just in case people are wondering a black cab from Prescot station to the hotel at this time was £8 and a taxi from the hotel to Whiston hospital was £7. It sound like alot but believe me its a long way to walk and we'd have never have found our way, well worth the money. Mehr

The room we stayed in was extremely hot....no window to open and non-functional aiconditioning. This is the second time Ive experienced this problem at Park Inn by Radisson St Helens. I cant risk staying at this hotel again, to uncomfortable to sleep properly!!

Was extremely disappointed on check in to find the spa and pool closed for refurbishment which wasnt mentioned on booking, one very disappointed nine year old. Room was extremely warm, location quite good and all in all fairly good value.

Hotel is bit old but had a lovely stay. Only two things to complain about was while we were having breakfast the cleaner was there hoovering which was so noisy and annoying, horrendus. One of the staff in the gym and pool was very rude to me but once she knew i was a paying guest of the hotel she changed her attitude which in my opinion was too late […] you should treat everyone the same. The rest of the staff - bar staff, and receiption staff were so lovely and polite. Also when we were having breakfast young children kept running in and out in their swimming costumes and the staff said nothing. A good star rated hotel should have some standards I thought it said to me 1 star (you can do anything attitude) not good. But overall the hotel is bit dated but its in a great location the breakfast was great, the staff really nice most of them and the carparking was free and the price for two days was affordable definately for us to stay again. I also loved the swimming pool and sauna. If this hotel was remodernised it would be superb ! Mehr

Mixed experience at this hotel - the rooms were OK, the staff were pleasant and the location was great for us but it was a warm weekend and the heat in the room was, at times, unbearable, the airconditioning was completely in adequate, the fan provided just circulated the warm air and the window did not open. The breakfast was about the worst i have […] ever had in any hotel. On Sunday breakfast was available until 11am. At 10.30am the cooked items were tough and cool - looked like they had been there for a considerable time - the kitchen could not provide a bowl of porridge and the prunes were well past their best and had to be sent back. The items provided (jam, cereal etc ) just looked like the cheapest available and the choice was very limited. Mehr

Lovely hotel, when we eventually found it! The post code in the sat nav took us to the multistorey at the back of the hotel but reception staff were very helpful with directions and it was very easy to find after that. The room and hotel itself was lovely and clean, beds were very comfortable. We stayed to go and Tom Jones at Haydock Park as we couldn't […] get a hotel closer and it was approx £12 taxi ride away - would definately recommend the taxi firm the hotel give you - extremely helpful as he came back for us to return to the hotel and actually waited as we were later than expected. The leisure facilities made the whole visit alittle more special and the breakfast was very nice. Lots of choice and staff very helpful. Handy to have Tesco's immediately behind the hotel as we forgot our swimming costumes. Overall a very good hotel, no tea or coffee in the room though which was the only downside but this would not stop from using this hotel again.. Mehr

As other reviewers have noted, this hotel has seen better days and is showing a lot of wear and tear. That being said, the staff were very helpful and our room was comfortable and clean with all the amenities you would expect. We hit breakfast late towards the end of the service and food was a bit sparse, but we asked for top ups and it was sorted. After reading some reviews I booked with fingers crossed I neednt have worried our room was bright airy clean and comfortable.Reception staff friendly and helpful. Location good for town centre and train station so you can have a day in Liverpool only 20 mins by train. I would stay here again.

Right in the centre of St Helens this hotel is perfect as a base for a stay in the merseyside area. With lots to see and do in StHelens itself there is an excellent transport system that allows easy access to places like Liverpool and Southport. This Hotel staff are friendly and helpful, the decor bright and cheerful giving it a pleasant Atmosphere […] to stay in. The food was plentiful and very very good to eat. The staff were not friendly...rooms were old, bathrooms not clean and above all dance parties in the bar which was bad if you want to sleep after 12

Nice hotel - good nights sleep. Breakfast range ok but nothing special. Staff very helpful.

As with most other reviewers, the staff here were absolutely wonderful. I was allocated a twin room by mistake originally, and they were very helpful in getting me moved around, and I experienced a very friendly welcome. From there, all was down hill. Paint was peeling from the ceilings of the bathroom, there was mildew in the tile grout, walls in […] the room were marked like you'd not believe. I ordered room service for my main meal, and honestly wish I hadn't. To begin with, it turns out that my room had an old menu in it, so my original choices weren't available. The bar brought up a new one so I was able to order. The food was incredibly bland, very greasy, and the chips that were provided were obviously made from a dodgy potato as they tasted revolting, and had a texture like sawdust. Once trying to get to sleep, the matress was of such poor quality that I was pretty much sleeping on the base of the bed. It took me several hours to drift off, and even then I was waking up regularly due to discomfort. I would not reccommend this hotel in its current state. It is in major need of a re-vamp, and a decent chef doing the evening meals. Mehr

Friendly staff and a nice lesiure centre open until 9pm on a Saturday night too. Room as described and clean. Hotel a bit difficult to find even with google maps and I had no sat nav. Had a meal in hotel restaurant and enjoyed. Parking secure.

OK, the hotel really needs to be refurbished, the carpets on the corridors need a clean but other than that all was good and the staff were helpful and friendly. the hotel is reasonably priced and very accessible to Liverpool and Manchester, which was its main charm for me. This hotel is a really nice value. The room was large, very clean, and we didn't hear any noise during the night ! The only black point is maybe the location, if you want to see Liverpool, you've to take the car again, or the train (but you'll be there in less than 30min)

I always receive a warm welcome at this hotel. The staff are always helpful and friendly, nothing is too much for most of the staff on reception, housekeeping and restaurant. It is an ideal location for visits to Liverpool and Southport, which we visited on this trip. The food is usually good quality and the breakfast good value. The decor is getting […] a little frayed and some of the beds are now a little "lumpy" but all in all for going back to our home town for a visit it is ideal. Mehr

This hotel exceeded my expectations. The hotel looks new or maintained very well. The rooms were clean, the staff was helpful, and the location is great. A Tesco market is next door and the town centre is within a 5 minutes walk. Hotel guests get complimentary parking as well.

central location, pleasant atmosphere, spacious bar and restaurant area. Food prices way too high for standard hotel like Park Inn. Really friendly and helpful staff.A big plus was the indoor swimming pool. Breakfast was ok but not special. All in all a good place to stay for a night,s stay .

This really is a nice little hotel. The staff are very helpful and pleasant and the bedroom itself has all the facilities you would need for a stay. We stayed B&B rate and there was a lovely breakfast buffet next morning. However, the bathroom really lets it down. It's a nice size, but the mould growing on the tiles and the ceiling really lets it […] down. It is so bad that the tile grout flaked away into the bath. It makes the whole bathroom look and feel very dirty. For the sake of this only, it gets a mediocre review. Mehr

Rimeligt og fornuftigt hotel i en gennemsnitlig kvalitet. Service kunne være bedre, personalet var ikke så engageret som vi har mødt det andre steder, men ok til prisen.

Et meget sentralt beliggende hotell. God standard og hyggelig betjening. Flott bar i hotellet. Treningssenter for de som ønsker det. Et godt valg!
