Klar, das Gebäude ist beeindruckend fasziniert. Das wars aber auch schon. Die Damen an der Rezeption sind weder freundlich noch zuvorkommend, die Abfertigung der zahlreichen Gäste (auch Busreisen) ist nicht anders als im Pauschalurlaub auf Mallorca. Die Gästeschar ist bunt, gehobenes Publikum eher die Ausnahme. In der Bar wurden pausenlos Eishockeyspiele […] auf zahllosen Bildschirmen gezeigt, stillos. Im Zimmer findet sich ein Tablett mit diversen kostenpflichtigen Artikeln (u.a. Plüschtier), alleine schon das Hochheben vom Tablett wird elektronisch erfasst und kann zur Berechnung führen!!! Insgesamt haben wir uns wie in einem überteuerten und überbuchten Flughafenhotel gefühlt. Mehr

Great building, and great location. The lobby and bar and service were great. But $15/day for WiFi that is slow? No way. I'll stay at a far more basic hotel with good connectivity instead.

The fire alarms on floors 2-4 went off a few times during the night. According to another guest this happened the previous 4 night of their stay. The staff said they thought it was a leak in the roof? They would not put guests into a separate room (out in the lobby with plenty of onlookers) when requested to do so. There was no fire but still had to […] evacuate to the street as a check was done (those on the first floor were able to continue sleeping). There was no apologies only a "sorry for the inconvenience". No offer of a discount for the room or other compensation. Not good customer service, when you can't sleep in your room because of the alarms continually going off it is more than a mere inconvenience. Mehr

Great location, great service, great rooms - amazing linens and beds. Loved staying here and would stay again in a heart beat.

I know down pillows are common but I wish more hotels used foam. down too squishy. other than pillows fabulous hotel

I had booked at the Fairmont Vancouver in error over hte Fairmont Waterfront and for a minimal fee, the Fairmont Waterfront let us (3 rooms) exchange as Hotels.com cannot change. We were grateful for that!

Great location! Right by Robson Street, which is perfect if you love to shop. Stanley Park is just 2 miles away. We had a great weekend. The hotel and amenities were wonderful. Would definitely stay again.

everything was ok except for maintenance, they had to put an electric heater because the central heat at the room was not working and in 2 days nobody came to fix it, and for the price the service in that part was not good. people kind and restaurants very good. for the rest is a Fairmont........ok.

We stayed overnight at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver and had the best stay! The hotel was close to everything and the concierge and check-in staff were phenomenal! Looking forward to our next stay!

We always love Hotel Vancouver, mainly for its classiness. Our room was very neat and was of excellent value for the rate as we booked with a great discount via hotel.ca. The only thing was that there was a slight thumping noise from above almost whole night long. Not sure where that came from.

Love the hotel and the service we first class. It's just a shame everything comes with an additional cost. Example it is $30 to rent an umbrella , I would honestly expect little touches l,e this to come free of charge given the nature and cost of staying at a fairmont. This type of charge just tarnishes the quality of the experience . Francis

Historical architecture and a big city feel

Great location, beautiful hotel, really comfortable bed. Dignified, civilized hospitality, can't wait to go back.

It was a good time. Nice pillows.

Close to everything downtown and the Skytrain to the airport.

While I understand this a historical landmark the hotel was very busy and noisy as it is located in the middle of down town. It was in easy walking distance to areas of interest. The dining was good and not as pricey as the bar. Our room was rather small/tucked in a corner and cramped yet rather expensive.

The Hotel is beautiful and the service really was impeccable. We were travelling with children and the pool made everything perfect. My only hesitation in coming back or encouraging others to stay at this hotel would be the expense.

Best I've stayed in Downtown Vancouver. Mix of classic old hotel with comfort and location Pan Pacific has great view rooms but this is more comfortable.

Location is good, close to nice stores and restaurants. Old world stile if you like that feeling. To me, rooms can be updated and bathrooms need a complete renovation. Holel staff is excellent and nice, they will make sure you have everything you need to make you stay confortable.

It is a grand old hotel, and I was initially impressed. However, we had just gotten off a cruise ship from Alaska and asked the concierge for a recommendation for a moderately priced restaurant. upon his request, we went to Cin Cin, where the least expensive bottle of wine was $100! And there were lots of other good restaurants in the area. I had a […] fabulous Get Fit room service breakfast the next morning before our trip to Vancouver island. However, on Sunday morning I discovered the in-room coffee pot was broken, and then the bathroom floor filled with water after our showers. However, the hotel staff was very pleasant, helpful and accommodating. Our room was spacious, unlike our friends', and comfortable. Mehr

The only concern is that there are quite a few charges we did not know..there was a charge for local calls which I did not realize. I did not read the fine print on that but I have not experienced that before...Loved everything else!

We stayed at the Fairmount Vancouver before and after a cruise. It's beautiful, on an upscale street that's only a 5-minute taxi ride to the cruise terminal. We booked a deluxe double for a family of 4 and it was spacious and perfect. The staff is helpful and everything was clean and elegant in a classic old-world way. The hotel is located perfectly to walk to restaurants and shops. The Conceriege gave great reccomendations for attractions and dinner and got us great tables wherever we wanted. Highly reccomend this hotel.

Hotel hugely overbooked with tour operator traffic - the business man must fight his way to the buffet overflowing with everything-included-tour-tourists gorging themselves. Not at all what one would expect or hope for at a Fairmont.

We stayed on the Gold floor and it was very nice. The lounge is a nice oasis to relax in, and the staff is excellent and attentive, but not overbearing. The room was spacious and nicely decorated. Tha Fairmont hotel Vancouver was an exciting and comfortable stay. The meals we enjoyed were exceptional, as was the service by all the hotel staff. The hotel has an old world look, with all the pleasures of modern day convenience. It is just a few minute walk from Vancouvers best shopping locations, as well as the Olympic torche. The staff at the Fairmont were very attentive and courteous. Normally on weekends, the complimentary breakfast area opens at 7 am. Upon check-in, we were informed it would be open at 5:30 am to accommodate the early start time of the Vancouver marathon, which was great for my wife (who was running in the marathon).

The staff and service was incredible. Best hotel experience I have ever had . It was beyond my expectations . The staff on the Gold floor were incredible ............all of them. Just a incredible experience . Thank you

We were very excited to stay at this hotel. From the pictures it looks beautiful and it has been touted by numerous websites and guidebooks as the place to stay in Vancouver. I suppose all of this information led to higher than usual expectations, which this hotel didn't meet. The outside is pretty, no question, but the inside is tired and certainly […] not as "grand" as it was made out to be. The hallways were worn and very dated, and our room was small and dated. Luckily, we went in the off season and got our room for a very low price, so I can't say I regret staying here. However, if we had come in the summer and paid the usual rate, I would have been very disappointed. When we return again in the warmer months, we will not be staying at this hotel. Mehr

The room was large and the desk was setup with "useability" in mind. It could use a few more electric outlets.As a business traveler- I notice that. I treated myself to their wonderful brunch. This is an old beauty of a hotel and a true Vancouver landmark. It could use a little modernizing, for example the wallpapers are a bit old lady-ish, but in general lovely. The only draw back, and it was a significant one, was the noise. There was an intermittent loud booming noise, all night and day.
