das Hotel ist sehr gepflegt, die Zimmer/Wohnungen sind mit vollständiger Küche ausgestattet. Das Bad ist luxuriös. Der Balkon groß. Alles ist neuwertig sind. Nutzung der Barbecue Einheit im Garten ist empfehlenswert. Unbedingt Seeblick buchen.

Service was outstanding. I cannot say enough about our fantastci weekend at one of the world's greatest mountain resorts. Truly memorable. Fantastic restaurants and ambiance.

Banff Springs Hotel was a very nice place to stay we had the view of the mountain and it was very beautiful. The staff was very nice, pleasant and helpful.

Very historic and upscale; however, noisy in the evening. Difficult to get a sound sleep. We traveled with another couple and they were on a different floor and they said the same. We could hear people in the hallway at all hours of the night. Perhaps it is because it is an older hotel. Also, we both got stuck in the elevator at separate times Yikes! […] We both pressed all the buttons but no movement. Pressed the last floor that the elevator opened up on and ran out. I reported it to the front desk and they called to get a maintenance man to repair it. Mehr

We had a fantastic stay in the "castle". It was truly amazing.

Hotel was excellant. Extremely close to everything.

We enjoyed our stay, the staff was terrific on every level, but I thought that they lacked a little in the housekeeping department. We noticed that in the eating areas, the cutlery, dishes weren't that clean, tables were sticky, windows were really dirty, and there was a lot of dust on the light fixtures. Our room was the same, clean bedding of course […] but dust and dirt that looked like it had been there for months on surfaces and fixtures. If it were any other hotel I probably wouldn't bother with review but it is not a cheap stay and I think that that should be reflected in the overall maintenance, cleanliness. I also have been there over the decades throughout the different ownerships. I hope the Fairmont group isn't letting one of the most beautiful hotels in the world, not to mention one of Canada's national treasures slip into a lower standard of hospitality. Mehr

We had to wait for 2 hours after arrival (to 6:p.m.) before getting into our room, due to the ``higher than expected crowds`` for New Years.

Not at all impressed with our room. For the high price I paid the room was very tiny. I requested a king bed and only got a queen. I would definitely not bother staying at this hotel again

I dropped 2 pts on the comfort to 3, because room 602 needs a new bed. I forgot to mention it when I checked out. It is old and worn.

Beautiful views of the mountains, falls, golf course, etc. the histort of the building is very interesting. On the negative side, I would recommend self park because valet was very busy and the wait was 30 to 45 mins. I am not a big fan of having to pay for wireless internet ($15/day).

You expect a lot when you stay in a Fairmont hotel. The service is usually first class and the staff are a credit to the company. The Fairmont Banff lived up to this expectation in every respect except one: The hotel boasts 7 restaurants and our heart was set on the Bow Valley Grill. But apparantly, many of the restaurants are closed several nights […] of the week. We had to settle for a dinner in the Waldhaus at 2100 hrs, not exactly what we had planned. So make sure you check which restaurants are open when before you book if this is important to you. The hotel and the surroundings are, nevertheless, incredibly impressive. Mehr

Our checkin luggage was not delivered to the room. I had to go to the front desk after approx. 30 mins. to request its whereabout. It was sitting in a room behind the front desk. The mattress in our room was concave and very uncomfortable. The room was extremely bland. Thanks

Well, what can I say? My only disappointment is that I was only able to spend one night in this hotel. I have been to Banff before & always said I would stay here if I ever returned. Service from all staff was impeccable, rooms were spacious & beds were luxurious. We ate at a very small restaurant on site (don't know the name but it only sat approximately […] 12 people) & it was one of the best meals we had eaten since arriving in Canada. I suggest exploring the castle & grounds, especially Bow Falls. Cannot recommend this hotel enough - wish I was back there!! Mehr

18.11.2011 The last stay was ...not a dream; during a change of the rooms the bell man lost my cashmere took so in -28C I was in side all the time, not to say the reception till today did not call regarding my took . The next day of our stay during the pool visit my rope with a room key was stolen... or just vanished ,and I was forced to visit reception […] desk again just to hear that is o.k.... I am still waiting for my took ........ Mehr

The add for this hotel fails to mention that you must pay $25 to self park your car, or $35 for valet parking. The room was very small, bathroom very small, and no refigerator was in the room as advertised. There also was no jetted tub or balcony with this room.

We had a wonderful stay. We arrived one day earlier than planned and with the help of Rock the manager on duty we were able to change our reservations. The Sunday brunch was wonderful, as was the view of the mountains. The room was large, bed comfortable and the supply of tea was appreciated. Staff were most helpful and pleasant. historical landmark but hotel service is not kept at a level one would expect for a fairmont hotel. dark ambiance throughout. i prefer the newer fairmont hotels. service really needs to be kept up. someone in the hotel is not doing their job for sure.

It was great place in Banff and very suitable for family vacation.

Room very small. Saggy mattress, very uncomfortable. Landmark property, great location. Good for a one time experience.

We loved our stay at this hotel. Everyone was so friendly and courteous. the whole experience of seeing the hotel and grounds was amazing. What a sight!

Great hotel and location but overpriced, good for a special occasion.

We all felt the food in the fine dining room was tasteless, overpriced and the server pretentious; on a high note the hotel itself was very nice and we found great food downtown in Banff

This is a very beautiful hotel, and the rooms are nicely maintained. However, when we arrived at 6 pm and asked whether we should make a booking for dinner, we were told that the hotel had eleven dining rooms and that booking wasn't necessary. In fact each of the dining rooms was completely booked out, and although there was a table available in one […] of them, it was near a cold air vent, so was out of the question. We asked for the table to be moved, but were told that this wasn't possible. Apparently, having not booked in advance for dinner, we hadn't any rights. Mehr

This is a castle in every way. Spectacular scenery & views. Outstanding food. Service is superb - and genuine. They treat you like royalty at all times. A once in a lifetime experience.

Weeklong stay lived up to expectations. Only problem: hot water sometimes slow to reach the room. Staff friendly and helpful without being obstrusive; splendid views; good value for the money. One other note, though: When are hotels, especially ones as classy as Fairmont, going to start having high-def programming on their high-def TVs?

The hotel was as spectacular as expected. Every request and need was met without hesitation or question. The only complaint I had was the Accomodation department. The location of my room was near a service area for the accomodation staff and we were rudely woken at 7:45am with loud talking and laughter by the accomodation staff as they were getting […] ready for the day. This lasted for approx 45 minutes. It was obvious that it was the accomodation staff as the noise was all in Tagala and was easy to recognize. After we woke up we filed a complaint with the Customer Service department, and by the next morning we slept through without any noise. Again, this is the type of service and experience you would come to expect from the Fairmont. Mehr

Loved everything about the hotel, lovely location and surroundings, wonderful and very helpful staff.

If you stay at this hotel, make sure you get a valley view room that is not facing the street (aka the mountains). Without air conditioning, windows must remain open at night so early morning street noise (tours bus back up signals beginning at 7:00 am and power washing generator at 8:00 am) is annoying during vacation. Unmatched beauty and setting […] but not worth the extra cash for the room. Arrived at 1:00 a.m. No one on duty at the front entrance. The room was "not ready" per the front desk and the hotel was "fully booked." Finally found a room in the conference center across the street from the main hotel. Room was very nice when we were finally able to check in. Bow Valley Grill was closed for a private event so we did not eat at the hotel. Banff is a wonderful city. Because the hotel is a bit away from the city center, I would stay in town for my next visit. Plenty of nice hotels close to shopping and great restaurants. Would recommend staying here only if you think it is important to stay at the most famous hotel in the area. Mehr

Stayed on the gold floor. Room was available from 1030am which we didn't expect, but were delighted with. Staff were excellent, room was lovely. Only two minor gripes, first, the air vent made an annoying buzzing noise that we fixed by putting a paper jam in. Second, we were not told how long it would take to retrieve our car from valet parking, which […] made for a cold wait and ultimately made us late. Overall a wonderful stay. Mehr

Great hotel , service was good.View from room, on valley side, was beautiful. Charging &25.00 for parking & $13.00 or $14.00 for internet was a little much.

We were tired when we arrived ... the chek-in process was long. Our rooms were not ready, so we just wanted to go to the lounge and sit and get a drink. No seats ,,,, tons of people everywhere, standing with no place to sit. A hotel of this stature, and this popular should definitely have more than one cocktail lounge available for its guests. Kind welcome at the front gate, but when I checked in, I had wait 15 min. for the receptionist. It was disappointing. Valet parking was great. Room was clean, but some old. No bathrobes were ready, no sleepers. Location is great (Gondola, Bow falls).

I absolutely loved my experience with the Banff Fairmont. Courteous, friendly staff and comfortable rooms. Be sure and go down to the onsite pub and walk around to the river below. Stunning setting and scenery. We ate at the pub a couple of times but avoided some of the pricier restaurants onsite. What clued us in was the $16 cocktails. Didn't expect […] that. Hotel is extremely pricey for meals and services. Was disappointed that the "pool" shown on the fairmont banff springs website is actually the spa pool which you don't have access to and can't even see unless you pay upwards of $70+ per day for use. The hotel is a popular destination even for those not staying so at any given time was very crowded in the lobby and outside. We spent our nights there but during the day went on long beautiful hikes and drives to take in the pristine beauty of the surrounding area. I gave the hotel 5 stars because service is outstanding, staff friendly, and rooms very comfortable. Would I stay there again absolutely. Mehr

We stayed a few nights in this historic hotel and thoroughly enjoyed the location, the hotel and the amenities of the hotel. One of the most beautiful hotels in an unbelievable mountain setting and yet very comfortable and homey. I would recommend it to anyone.
