It was a typical hotel. Not fancy but not awful. I would have liked it to be a little cleaner. The T.V. was terrible and kept fading out. No WiFi in the room. We only stayed one night and did not eat there. Close to Federal Hill and great restaurants and the Providence Place Mall.

We visited Providence for the weekend to see a few baseball and hockey games. This hotel was perfect. I was concerned by the mix reviews, let me clear things up for everyone. People who gave this place a bad review are obviously looking for a deluxe resort style hotel, which this place is not. Hotel was conveniently located and the room had nice views of the city. Had to search 3 floors for an operating ice machine, but that didn't stop my friends and me from enjoying our stay.

We had stayed at this hotel 3 years ago and loved it. That is why I didnt hesitate reserving rooms when my daughter wanted to go to Providence to celebrate her 21st with her friends and cousins. When they arrivef the rooms were not ready, and they had to wait over an hour. I had requested that refrigerators and cots be put in each room and they were […] not. Then they gave them a hard time saying they were short on both. At this point I called to express my disappointment in how things were going and was assured it would be taken care of. My daughter called me back and they did deliver both and they also delivered a basket of food and drinks to the room compliments of Marriott. I have to say this was the only bright spot in the weekend for them and I have to commend the staff for trying to make up for how they were treated. Side note: the gentlemen at the front desk was rude to all of them but the woman I spoke with on the phone was very professional and accomodating. They also found a old sandwich in one of the rooms under a chair. They brought it to the front desk and they were not charged for the cots or for parking. Again, kudos to the staff for trying to make things right. Not sure if we would stay here again. Too bad because I always try and book with Marriott whenever I travel. Mehr

I usually stay across the street at the Hilton, but found a great rate of the Courtyard and I'm happy that I called an audible. The hotel is perfectly situated for a great night on the town. I was up to see a PC game with some old buddies. The hotel was completely renovated from the lobby to the guest rooms-- very modern with multimedia everywhere. […] I will definitely stay there again. I checked into this hotel during a week long business trip. Parked in the garage downstairs and found it difficult to figure out how to get to the hotel lobby, which was roped off due to construction. Checked in, went to my room, and found it small and dated. Went to turn on the TV, it didn't work; went to use the phone to call front desk. . .phone […] didn't work either! Used my cell phone to call front desk. Was told that the engineer would be up soon...I was alittle SHOCKED, since it was so late in the evening, (after 10 pm), and I was very ANXIOUS to get in the bed. I asked the front desk clerk if I could just get another room and was told, "NO. . .he will be there shortly!" Engineer arrived in 15 minutes and was able to fix the problem, but I was annoyed bythe treatment of the front desk and expressed that to the engineer, who left and returned with a coupon for breakfast. (Couldn't the rude front desk clerk offer this?) In the am, I called for towels, which didn't arrive until after I showered. (problem since I only had 2 towels!) Breakfast was adequate, (would have been mad if I paid for it!). It was in a hotel room with about 4 tables in one room with a waitress, (she was very pleasant), and food was in the adjacent room... weird. Also, you have to PAY for parking! Shouldn't that be included? I would not recommend this hotel. There are ALOT of choices downtown, pick something else. . .not worth the headache! Mehr

They are doing construction in the front lobby area! This is usually where the breakfast is served. They said they are hoping it will be finished by next month. I will definitely go back again when its done.

I feel it unfair to judge the hotel at this time as they were redoing the lobby and you stepped into a small registration desk surrounded by flapping plastic sheets and the sound of jackhammers. If you are out and about and don't want to watch TV don't stay here ... their cable is awful. Also the buffet in the morning was a complete mess and staff was rude. Other than that ... great!

I had to change rooms as the room I was initially given was directly across from the elevator and noisy. The staff was very accommodating and pleasant, but that room should only be used as a last resort.

I stayed at the Courtyard because I was attending a conference and a participant recommended it. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. I was fortunate to be in town during an arts festival, which was happening right outside. Definitely take advantage of the coffee station and the breakfast buffet!

Booked 3 rooms for a weekend get away with friends. Called 3 time before arrival to confirm reservations. Once there they messed up the reservations, didnt have the room type I was promised, took hours and a walk to the front dest to get towels. Also a complete lack of concern from the hotel manager. The staff was lovely. Adriana (Cleaning staff) even offered to go downstairs and get me a soda when the vending machine refused my money. The pillows were very soft and they did not have any firm ones. Also, the bathroom was had some mold on it where the wallpaper was peeling. The buffet breakfast was quite extensive and yummy. We enjoyed the neighborhood. There was a lot to do and places to walk directly from hotel. One negative was lack of refrigerator. That was very inconvenient.

My only complaint is that there are too few spots for parking during check-in, and they are not really clearly marked. I wasn't the only person who hd some trouble w/that.

We have stayed at this hotel many times over the years as we go to Rhode Island frequently. We will NOT be staying there again. SHOCKING front desk staff. Rooms need upgrading. Overall, very expensive for the awful service and unpleasant staff.

Hi - this is a great hotel in a great location but we paid the extra $$ to have breakfast included and it was a huge hassle - they said it was never included and not until I found our confirmation email did they correct it - we were there for a baseball tournament so didn't have alot of time to argue with the waitress and then the front desk - glad […] it worked out but it should have been easier. We stayed in this hotel with our two small children. We were put in a room directly facing one of the main streets. It was the noisiest night of my life. The motorcycles, firecrackers, sirens and groups of young people yelling kept me up all night and woke my children twice. Also, the front desk seemed deperately understaffed. I waited almost 15 minutes […] to ask for an extra key. I also waited a long time to check out. The carpet was sticky in our room, there was no mini- fridge and the decor seemed tired. We paid extra for parking and extra for breakfast. The front lobby air conditioning must not have been working adequately as the inside seating area was HOT. I felt like we were in an understaffed, barely functioning facility. We were disappointed with our experience at this Mariott and would not recommend it to any traveler. Mehr

Great location to the Convention Ctr and some excellent food/drink options. Nice fitness room with 3 treadmills and enough to get in a good workout whilst on the road. Staff was very helpful and the evening lemonade & cookies are a nice touch. Get a room facing the front of the hotel. We were on the backside facing Memorial Dr and motorcycles echo off […] the buildings and sound like they are in your room - probably not an issue in the winter. Not to often I have to sleep with pillows covering both ears. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. I would stay here again. Mehr

When I booked the hotel, I assumed I was sacrificing quality for location, but was pleasantly surprised to find a cute, well laid out, clean room. The decor was very tasteful and was not something I would have expected out of the Courtyard line of hotels. Location is amazing. The only negative feedback I have is that we were driving around the parking […] lot trying to figure out how it worked and an employee stood there the entire time (we recognized the uniform later) without offering to help even though we had multiple eye contact.
