I enjoyed it

The hotel is clean, but in major need of an update. The 19 in old fashioned television was a shock - as well as the bedspread & curtains. Cld do with some freshening, but well worth the Hotels.com price. Easy parking - easy in & out. No vending or ice machines, so you'd better plan ahead or be prepared to walk a block to the corner store. The A/C worked […] well and had plenty of water pressure in the shower, so I can't complain too much. Overall a pretty good experience, just a little dated and not as customer friendly as you'd think. But yes, I'd stay there again. Mehr

The price was decent for one night, but guest service was unprofessional, unfriendly and unwelcoming. The front desk clerk was unenthused and uninviting when providing directions over phone. He was very brief, giving little to no details, and hung up before asking for more specific directions. At arrival, the rep literally slapped ID card on the counter […] causing it to spin and nearly slide onto the floor as if it was a game of spades. Hotel location was convenient to tollway and nearby eateries, shopping, gas station ect, but, still further out than expected. Requested hotel in Downtown area. Room was fairly clean and spacious, however, though it was designed for accessiblity... it was obscured in the far rear corner of the hotel, distant from the main entrance and only a few feet away from a wood fence separating another property. Parking spaces were unavailable near room. Appears the "better" rooms were upfront or on the opposite side of the hotel. Mehr

Really for the rate and timeframe I needed for a room, it was more than I expected. All of the staff were kind and the area was close to plenty of restaurants.

My visit was awful. I will "never" return there. There was no one at the front desk. (had to wait in the cold and call from the outside pho.) It took over 25 min to get a guy to open the office door. (and he did not know how to check me in. The TV did not work and the front desk said wait till tomorrow (check out was 8am for me). None of the lights […] worked in the bathroom. I brought my own popcorn wanted to watch a movie but, the MICROS NOT WORKING. I MADE THE FRONT DESK AWARE OF THIS AND THE GUY SAID....OK. i'M STILL TROUBLED BY THIS EXPERIENCE! Mehr

The staff is extremely nice and their courtesy and professionalism make you feel right at home. The suite is very clean and they do housekeeping everyday. That is a good part so each day when you come back it's always clean and fresh.

I stay in hotels every other week on business. I decided to try this hotel because it was closer to where I needed to be. FYI internet available means you pay extra for the service. I paid the extra money for wireless internet. It was down half the time I was there. I requested a refund and was told No because I did get to "use' the service and it wasn't […] their fault that it was down. In the same conversation the employee told me other residents were able to get internet. i called the toll free number for tech assistance, and was told that all the guests rooms were down. I asked why the front desk told me different, and the agent said that the front desk is on a different internet conncetion. Between the intermittant internet, long term residents, super small shower spray, flat pillows, thin mattresss, old used dishes, and very poor service, I will never use any hotel in the chain again. Great value, great location, staff friendly and caring.

It was totally worth the savings and location was perfect.

It took over 15 minutes for someone to arrive at check-in desk. There was no staff around. I got free internet as compensation for the wait. The bed sheets on arrival and after housekeeping was dirty. The location is not close to anything. There is a gas station, some restaurants and a Flight Museum nearby. I stay in a lot of hotels. When I travel for business, I'm looking for clean, inexpensive rooms in neighborhoods in safe parts of town, convenient to work. I don't want to spend more than necessary, and I'm not interested in turn-down services, mints on pillows, and pay movies. Aside from two minor nits, Homestead Dallas fit that bill admirably. The […] hotel was right off the tollway, with easy access for parking. The room clean, well-organized, and quiet. It included a small living room/kitchenette, a spacious bath, and a private bedroom. My only gripe with the room was the extra charge for Internet service. In this day and age, Internet service is not a luxury or an add-on. For business travelers, it's a necessity. I'd rather that they just charge an extra buck or so for the room, than tack on a charge for the service. (In fairness, their policy benefits travelers staying longer, for it's a one-time charge, but as I normally stay only one night it's more of a penalty for me.) My other criticism was the so-called "Continental Breakfast." Unless they mean "Continental" as in "airline food," one cold bagel doth not a Continental breakfast make. I'd willingly stay here again. the Internet and breakfast gripes are not enough to keep me from their attractive prices, nice rooms, and convenient locations. Mehr

My room had a fridge with ice cube trays, but the hotel had no ice machine. I was going to an event the next day and was hoping to fill a cooler with ice but that plan fell through. Also, the larger inconvenience, the internet didn't work. You're supposed to open your internet browser and be asked for a password but the login page never loaded. There […] was nothing resembling a breakfast, neither. I was told that there used to be a breakfast but the morning shift didn't want to clean up after people so they stopped serving it. McDonalds fed us, but it would've been nice to save a few dollars and time by breakfast being provided. The most annoying part was that the bathroom lacked shampoo. It is available upon request at the front desk but by the time we realized the shampoo was missing it was too late to get some (and I didn't know it was available until I complained at check-out). Cutting costs is one thing, but the whole stay was frustrating. My wife complained about the bed being too firm, but everything I didn't mention was acceptable. Mehr
