Homestead San Diego - Mission Valley - San Diego

I checked in here for a quick 1 night stay before my drive back home. The newly remodeled room was extremely nice and comfortable. The only issue I had was that the shower's pipes in the wall rattled loud when I tried to take a shower and water came out for about 30 seconds, then stopped. I called the front desk and they said they could not give me […] a new room because none were available (yet the parking lot was empty). I finally got in touch with the manager a week after my stay and he sent me a voucher for the inconvenience. There customer service, once reached, was good. Other than my incident with having no water that stay, I would visit again...provided they've fixed this problem. Mehr

Very cool to have a kitchen and small eating area. Nice place

We chose this hotel because of how close it was to Chargers Stadium and the price couldn't be beat, but it turns out you get what you pay for. Upon being given a key to a room, we walked into a room that had not been serviced by a maid. We walked all the way back to the front desk and were promptly given a 2nd key to a different room, with a king size […] bed as an apology. We made sure this "upgrade" was a non-smoking room, as my girlfriend has very bad asthma and wouldn't be able to stay in a smoking room. As soon as we opened the door we were hit with a wave of the smoke smell. Instead of being given the run around again, we stopped at the grocery store and bought a bottle of Febreze. Upon Febrezing the entire room (using the entire bottle), we came across several cigarette burns in the comforter. The TV in the room was set up in such a weird location you couldnt see it well from the bed or the "living area." Thanks to the Febereze, this was the first time I have ever left a hotel room cleaner and smelling better than when I got there. I will pay more next time and stay further away from the stadium. The Homestead San Diego is conveniently located just off the 163 slightly North of Friars Road. It's in what appears to be an office complex/industrial area. This make it very quiet in the evening. The room was like a mini-studio apartment. You could actually live there since it features a refrigerator, stove w/ oven, sink and dishwasher. There's a […] little bar area that serves as a kitchen table. The TV is CRT type and is adequate. The staff was very friendly when I checked in very late. All in all it's a great bargain and you get much convienience and comfort for the money. Mehr

Easy to get to, check in was quick and efficient, perfect for family's

The exterior is very deceiving!! Cigarette stains on the sheets, chair, and carpet. The bathroom was the WORST bathroom I have ever seen!!!! Pubic hairs in tub, dirt and unmentionables around the tub. At around 8:30, I was trying to get my daughter to bed, when I could hear people outside discussing their plans for the night. My room at this hotel was very dirty. The sheets were not changed as there was a giant blood spot on the bottom sheet at the top of the bed. The carpet at the door was soiled and the spot also looked like blood. The sofa was so dirty we were afraid to sit on it.It was evident to us that managment had never looked at this room as the floors had not been […] mopped. After complaining the lst morning after the carpet was mysteriously cleanned and the sheets changed. I thought very serously about calling the San Diego Health Dept. I have stayed in Homestead Village other locations for twenty years and have never had a dirtier room. Mehr

Nice Hotel but the bed was to hard.

The room smelled of urine and there was dog hair everywhere! I was also missing utensils and pots. The beds are lumpy and sheets were ragged. Do not stay here.

My recent stay was less than good at this hotel. I chose the hotel as my last stay with my wife before a 6 month deployment and booked us a single king size bed. When I checked in, the room had two queens and when I asked the desk they said they had no more rooms left. The water in the shower was ice cold and the a/c was non-existent. A lot of mold around bathtub. Towels like sandpaper. A live bug in the bathroom. I had to kill it. Dead bugs on countertops. Surly receptionist.. All of it added up to a terrible experience. I didn't feel safe there, especially from the thick mold I saw. Nasty!

this hotel was dirty and filthy and i will not book there again. the service was no good. the front desk people don't know information you ask and instead of saying they don't know they give you false information, very bad customer service.

We check our bags after a week we arrive home and we found out that my kids ipad and nentindo dsi are missing. we double check and nothing, the only place that we left the back pack was in the hotel, and if we misplace it, why the chargers are also gone. We just go back to the hotel to sleep and the whole day we dont know if some body enter or what […] in our room. So as advise dont leave any valuables in your room. Mehr

One thing for sure is that the price was right. The room was very clean and it had a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and a toaster. Most other hotels, even higher priced ones don't give you all of that. The T.V. was old though, and the channel selection was very limited. This hotel was very dirty. The rug looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in a month. There was hair on the dressers and counters. The stove burner was dismantled and filthy. We would never stay here again.

The saying you get what you pay for was accurate, but even worse than what I paid.

The condition of the rooms was poor -- trash from a previous guest left under the sink (food and drink garbage), carpet looked dirty with lots of spots, moldy smell in bathroom (toilet leaked), and, only 2 skimpy towels for two women !! We asked to be moved, which they did, and the second room had different issues - leaking refridgerator.

Located to everything we were looking to do.. The beach, the mall, the college we picked our child up from. Pricier than we wanted, but big room, clean and had ammenities (didn't need them but they were available). Something to look forward to for the future (full kitchenette). Easy to find if you have a Google map! =)

The location was the primary consideration when I decided to book this hotel it was very close to the training site I was attending. It was a clean property with friendly staff. I wouldn't call it fancy but it was a good deal for the price and the staff was very friendly.

Showed up to: plugged toilet, spider in bed, ants all over the carpet and bathroom sink, crusty stain on chair, strange musty odor in room, slightly dirty shower, stained towels. It was a really bad experience.
