Compared to the extended stay in Memphis that we stayed in last night and many other places we have stayed, your two star rating is quite low! We had fast and friendly service as well as the hotel was quite amazing!!

Great room. Lowest price in the area. Room was clean and the kitchen made it an even better deal.

coffee maker didnt work and the furniture was OLD including the bed.

I stayed for a one night stay at this hotel. The room had a musty smell and was not kept clean. There was hair all over the place and the shower had a thick ring of dirt in it. The shower head had mildew growing on it.

Great stay

For those who don't have high expectations, this was a nice cheap place to stay for a 2 day trip to Birmingham.

Me and my buddy were just looking for a place to basically sleep because we were coming back home from an Alabama night game so we didn't get to the hotel until between 1am and 2am so all we wanted was the hotel to be clean and in a safe neighborhood and it was both.

The hotel room was very clean at the time of our arrival, however it had a leaky faucet in the bathroom and the iron didn't work, when we requested an operable iron, we were told: "Ask the Staff in the morning". Overall the room was nice, but the night Staff left quite a bit to be desired.. Most Employees were very nice, except one she had a very unpleasant […] attitude towards my companion. Other than she they were very accommodating. We parted perplexed; we've never occupied a hotel room that did not have turn-down service, and unfortunately to have fresh linen we were required to take our used towels to the front desk...?...?...... The hotel was clean and nice. It had great service and they accommodate you as soon as you ask. This is actually one of the best services I had in a hotel experience. It may not have the high upscale Kitchen but it works perfectly with your stove, frig, and supplies they give to you. It was just nice overall, because the Location was also prefect. Was the only hotel available around birmingham for the weekend. It's ok. Pillows were horrible and just kind of felt run down.

This was the first time I had ever heard of the Homestead chain of hotels, much less stay in one. Over the years I have stayed in almost every hotel chain you can think of (including several overseas). I was overwhelmed by the fact that I could have a kitchen (no matter how small) at such an affordable price. This convenience alone will make me look […] for a Homestead wherever I travel in the future. The real surprise came from the staff. I have never received such polite service than EVERY member of their staff offered. They were so helpful and friendly. In a day when customer service seems to be a thing of the past, this was such a refreshing change that I will always look for a Homestead, as well as, recommend them to everybody. Mehr

The hotel itself is very nice and the only problem we had was when the fire alarm went off but other than that it was very nice itr was quiet and peaceful..

Booked online. Price was right. However, the first room was awful. Extremely dirty, carpet stains and cobwebs in the corner. Was housekeeping blind? Was immediately changed to another room after calling the service desk. The clerk was very nice and understanding. I really wish hotels would spend the time and money to keep the properties in good condition. […] Good cleaning goes a long way. Then a little paint and carpet cleaning helps. I enjoyed my stay and plan to stay again when I am in Birmingham. The location was convenient to all restuarants and stores. The room was nice and clean. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

for the money the hotel was very decent, the only complaint I had was that our non smoking room smelled strongly of smoke.

This visit to Homestead Suites was disappointing. There were no downstairs rooms clean when we arrived, so we had to wait an hour and a half for our room. When we returned to claim our room, the person who had told us we would have a room had failed to talk to the person who apparently relieved him for the evening shift. I am handicapped, so I have […] to have a downstairs room. Fortunately, there was one room left. A vehicle with no handicap license was parked in the handicap parking place. On the second day of our stay, the key card would not work, so I had to walk to the office and get another key card. Because of the overall experience, we will not be staying here again. Mehr

Our room was filthy and had a bad odor. The bathroom floor and tub were dirty, there were bugs in the kitchen sink and my kids feet were black after 5 minutes of walking on the carpet barefoot. The location was convenient, but beyond that, I would never stay here again.

I booked my room online, and in the comments section I noted that I would require a crib for my baby during our stay. When I checked in at 10 p.m. after a long day of travel, they informed me that the property does not provide cribs. Luckily I knew someone in town who was able to drive over at that late hour with a Pack-n-Play. I wish the hotel had […] informed me about the lack of cribs *before* check-in! Mehr

My first impression of the outside of the hotel was pleasant, but once we stepped into the room it had an awful scent and the room was not as clean as it could have been. There were different bugs both dead and alive in the room. I was very dissatisfied with the room.

Hotel was set back from Hwy 280 which is a drag stripon constant speeding traffic. Nobody knows the speed limit excpet as fast as you cango, so use the stop & go lites for in & out from hotel. Have a Thai & Irish Pub in front of hotel for food & spirits. Staff was 110% helpful. Facility was full so they gave us a room with a king bed & a roll in cot. […] Worked but not quit what I had reserved. Clean & no kids running up & down hall ways like in a hotel. Pet freindly set back from highway 280. Mile down the road is a ton of eating places...fast food to sit down. Would stay here anytime Mehr

When I 1st arrived, I discovered that the TV remote and the iron were both missing, but the staff was very, very responsive and got me replacements immediately. The one major problem was the wifi. Good value for the money

My only significant gripe was that the WiFi signal was just awful, but this hotel has a great rate for this part of Birmingham. The room had everything I needed at a very good price.

Awful hotel to stay at. I am use to Sheraton's, W's, Westin's, Embassy's, Marriott's. I should have followed my first mind and stayed there. Room decor was outdated. It reminded me of a Motel 6! Thre was alot of people hanging out on the property that looked suspicious. I didn't like the environment at all. It is located off of HWY 280 in Birmingham;which […] is a very expensive area. What I don't understand is why would they put a hotel like this on that strip????? The exterior looks nice but don't let the looks fool you! Mehr

for the one night it was ok. probably could have done better for the price. But it served my needs.
