Junipine Resort - Sedona

Very nice. Big rooms, and quiet. It was nice to have hiking trails right on property. A good variety of DVD rentals available for free from front desk. Loved the fireplaces in the rooms.

Junipine Resort was so much more than I expected - peacefully secluded from the tourism of Sedona, yet easy to get to town. Had some difficulty finding it since I didn't realize it was 6 miles outside of Sedona. If I'm ever back in the Sedona area, this will be the place I'll be.

Excellent - we loved it. Want to come back in the summer.

I wanted to give a 4.5 star....only reason is beacuse the advertisement picture shows an updated room, and ours was definitely not, but we chose the less expensive location, and were very happy with what we got. The location is fantastic, the restaurant very good, the space in the unit is amazing, and the decks were fabulous. We have been telling everyone […] we know to stay here, perfect family location, and wonderful service. The kids loved bounding over the rocks and exploring the river. Slide rock park is only a mile away, and even though it was cold in april, was so worth seeing, If you choose the less expensive option, just know your unit will have older furnishings, but all locations are great, plenty of greenery, quiet, and large sized units. we spent our 25th wedding anniversary at the Junipine resort. It was the most beautiful place we've ever stayed. Room was so beautiful and the the fire place was most pleasant. You have a customer for life!

I went to Junipine for my sister's bachelorette weekend. We had five people in our party, and the two-bedroom condo was perfect for us. There were two large bedrooms (one king & two queens) plus a loft with two twin beds. The common area/living room was ideal for hanging out before heading into town.

We stayed at the Resort for 4 days in March. It snowed 12 inches the first day. Unexpected, but everyday is an adventure. Beautiful area. We put the fireplaces to work and enjoyed our wine in front of them. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant on site is very good. They are closed on Sunday and Monday by the way. We had an superb stay in this beautiful condo. Two fireplace's one in the bedroom & living room. Fully stocked kitchen to cook your own meals. Best if you pick up food first in town, Short drive to downtown area & beautiful scenery..We definitely will make a return trip and stay longer

Although the location of Junipine Resort is a bit outside of central Sedona, the area where it sits is so peaceful on Oak Creek. After being in the desert for a few days it was so nice to be surrounded by water & trees. The Condo itself totally exceeded our expectations. Just came back from staying at Junipine (3/16/12). The resort is beautifully located next to wonderful Oak Creek. We stayed in #37. It was fantastic! A wood fireplace with a fire all laid and ready to set a match to. The beds are amazing and the master shower is simply spectacular. We were going to go back to Sedona for dinner because we arrived late, […] but when we walked in we immediately decided to order room service from the restaurant next door (which was simply grand!). We enjoyed our 4 night stay- our kids hiked (including a decent trail starting at the back of the property), enjoyed boulder hopping at nearby Slide Rock, and visited the Out of Africa Wild Animal Park about 40minutes away (worth the drive). These are actually privately owned townhomes located in Oak Creek Canyon about a 10 minute drive outside of Sedona in the direction of Flagstaff. The scenery in this area is spectacular. Our unit had 2 decks overhanging the creek that provided a sheltered spot in the sun with the sound of water rushing below us. The unit we were in was very comfortably […] appointed with all the conveniences of home. There is a restaurant with limited hours that provides breakfast lunch and dinner if you do not want to cook or drive into Sedona for meals. There is housekeeping available at an extra charge. If you want all the services of a hotel or to be right in Sedona, this is not the place for you. If you want peace and quiet and spacious homey accommodations, this place is fantastic. I highly recommend the Junipine resort, especially if you have a large group that wants a spacious lioving area, cooking facility etc. I will be taking groups to this resort, lots of room, well equipped kitchen, breathtaking views, cozy fireplace and only a short drive into Sedona townsite (10 min tops). Loved it, can't wait to go back!

This was fantastic, a little secluded piece of heaven. If you want a family vac, and have kids that are of hiking age, this is the place. It was a house not a hotel. There is a creek and trail in back of property that was great. The town was about a 10 min drive and very cute shops. We also rented a Tomcat, which looks like a dune buggy, and went on […] trails up into the mountains. It was great. Also close to Junipine you can take a hot air balloon ride. Many things to do in the area. I highly recomend this resort. Fun Fun Fun and Sodona is so beautiful, you have to see this to believe it. We were in Sedona to celebrate our anniversary, but decided to escape the activities of the town for our accommodations. We drove about 8 miles up Oak Creek Canyon to Junipine Resort. I had read some favorable reviews, so basically knew what to expect. We were not disappointed! It was raining when we arrived at the resort; we were warmly welcomed by […] “Gayle” at the front desk. Check-in was quick and efficient. We were directed to our “home” in condo #33. When we opened the door, we were blown away by how nice everything was! First of all, someone had turned on the heat for us, thank goodness! The condo was quite deluxe with its nice furnishings, huge rock fireplace in the living room, second fireplace in the bedroom, granite countertops, fully-equipped kitchen, divided bath with two vanities, complimentary use of DVDs, and free internet. There was a flat screen TV in the living room and another in the bedroom (unfortunately, bed footboard obstructed view of TV screen). There is also an upstairs area, but doors were locked to guests. How cozy it was to listen to the rain fall on the skylights while warming up by the fire. We had requested a “creek-side" condo, but #33 is not one of those. However, in the rain, its close proximity to the parking lot was a plus. Unfortunately, this was a Monday night and the Junipine Café was closed. There is no other place to eat nearby. It’s a good idea to bring your own food and utilize the kitchen in the unit for meals. The morning of our departure, the “traditional keys” had to be turned in at the office, but check-out was quick and effortless. (Be sure to notice the adorably unique door hardware on the office door!) We were very pleased with everything and would like to return in the spring or summer months when we might enjoy the large decks and outside areas. Mehr

Loved this hotel. It was more like a house. I didn't want to leave. We used both the fireplaces and enjoyed watching it rain outside while stayed cozy in our beautiful surroundings. The kitchen was stocked with dishes, cooking utensils, etc. We loved being able to cook without leaving the house. There were two more bedrooms upstairs that were locked […] since we were only a party of two. I look forward to going back with our teenagers for a weekend stay. Mehr

We arrived in Sedona early around 11 am so I called the hotel and asked if we could check in early. The desk clerk was very courteous and say that wouldn't be a problem. It only got better from there. We were so surprised on the quality of the room when we opened the door. The kitchen had upgraded appliances and granite counter tops. The bed was so […] comfortable I didn't want to get up and the bathroom was also upgraded with granite countertops and fixtures. We went up to experience all that Sedona could offer and hiked daily. The AB Young trail was right outside our door and a great start to our trip. I would definitely recommend this hotel and am already making plans to return... Mehr

Spacious condo with creek views was perfect for couple traveling with young adult son but would also work for family with a few kids. Not as convenient to town of Sedona but maybe that's a good thing since it's so peaceful. It was a good location for driving over 89A to the Grand Canyon which worked well for us as a day trip.

Loved this place! Better than our expectations. The weather was cold & snowy but our room was just perfect for hangin out. The extra touch of the fireplace and the restock of wood everyday just an added touch. Looking forward to coming back again.

Property located along Oak Creek. Creekside lodging is just that - facing the creekside. Beautiful location, room had strong smoke odor due to the fireplace. Comfortable and large quarters. Fireplace was a nice romantic touch. Recommend buying groceries in Sedona before traveling into the canyon-fairly lenghty route back to town. This facility is run like a hotel but is basically a condominium of individually owned apartments. We had a large one-bedroom apartment, fully equipped. The site is several miles north of Sedona, along Oak Creek which flows behind the property. Quiet and scenic. Excellent place to stay.

What a beautiful resort! Not one complaint, room was absolutely beautiful, surrounding area was beautiful, staff was friendly and professional.

When we first walked in to our room we were amazed at how much it reminded us of home. The room was very warm and inviting. We did all of our grocery shopping in town and cooked all of our meals in the room which saved us a ton. There is not a single bad view in the entire complex; the mountains and forest engulf the entire hotel. The hotel staff made […] us feel welcomed. The only negative about the room is that the bed is hard as a rock. Both night we woke up with lower back pain; the second night my wife had to sleep on the couch. Stopped in Sedona during our roadtrip honeymoon last week and stayed at Junipine. What a romantic setting! We can't wait to stay there again! The cabins were very spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was much bigger then expected. We had two fireplaces (firewood delivered every day) and two private balconies, which was also unexpected. The grounds […] were well kept with lots of peaceful nooks for enjoying the beautiful scenery! The staff were friendly and helpful. We rented a 2 bedroom creek view condo for 3 of us for a 2 night stay. We arrived at Junipine and were given keys to #22. What a pleasant surprise when we opened the door to a beautifully appointed 2 bedroom, 2 full bath condo with a loft! Fireplaces in the living room and master bedroom were a nice touch. Sliding glass doors led to a huge deck from […] both the living room and master bedroom with beautiful views of the creek and red rocks. Shortly after we checked in our microwave started beeping with an error message and the staff was there immediately to address the problem. The kitchen came fully equipped and even had Junipine coffee! The beds were very comfortable and the pillows divine! The final touch of class was the Tarocco shampoo, conditioner, lotion and soap which we all love! We ate breakfast at the cafe both mornings. The food was very good, reasonably priced and the service attentive. I have stayed in other hotels in Sedona and none compare to Junipine. For the price of a 3 star hotel room we got a top of the line condo. It is a short drive to Sedona but well worth staying here. Mehr

We stayed at Junipine for the first time and absolutely loved it. The veiws are spectacular and its still close enough to town if you want to go out for dinner. Definitely going back some day.

Early July, husband, 2 year old and myself stayed in room 37. Were surprised to find loft with two twin beds. Unexpected and nice. We love the kitchen full of all of the dishes, pots and pans, etc. We bought food to make there. The sheets don't seem to be 100% cotton, which would be nice because it was SO HOT during the day. No AC/cooler. A floor fan […] is provided. We used it, but it was still VERY HOT. Lucky we could leave the room and go for hikes by the creek. View is lovely. All of the surrounding area is wonderful. Staff is great. Service was outstanding. Wished for a cloth covered couch instead of leather with the HEAT issue. Nights are cool and beautiful. Will def. go back again. Maybe not in July though. We've been there 2 times, both times in July and the daytime is just too hot, not to have cool air. Skylights are nice too, just not when it's 100 degrees in there and we couldn't find a pole to close them. Overall, LOVE this place and will return again and again. Mehr

A wonderful place but far from everything except nature. It is 8 miles from the northern edge of Sedona, and this necessitated alot of driving time/miles we did not anticipate. We also did not know the restaurant is closed Sunday and Monday, and arriving Sunday evening late left us without food. Barely made it back to town in time for a bite before […] restaurants closed. Those are our only complaints, as it is a lovely and relaxing place. No a/c but place cools down nicely and quickly. Mehr

This is one of the best places I have encountered in all my travels. Whether it is a couples getaway or a family trip, I would highly recommend the Junipine Resort to any and all.

Aging Condo resort on Oak Creek. The ammenities in our room are in need of renovation. Having the back yard openning on the creek was very nice. Pricy if you are not in need of the kitchen and loft sleeping area.

Upon arrival we were given an upgraded room. Junipine Resort is situated in a beautiful canyon just a few minutes north of Sedona. The residence is very beautiful and peaceful. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. I look toward to staying here again on my return to Sedona.

Resort is located in a beautiful location on winding roads. The accommodations are very comfortable with all the amenities of home. The drive to the city proper of Sedona takes about 20 minutes and could be a bit hazardous at night if the weather is bad. The restaurant on site is not open year round and is privately owned. Our Junipine Resort "cabin" not only met but exceeded my expectations. It was a very chilly evening when we arrived (9 degrees). Our "cabin" was warm and toasty - ready for our arrival. This is really a western contemporary style fully furnished two level apartment. The decor is very very nice. The big stone fireplace is set with real wood and ready […] to go. The beds are comfortable and the towels fluffy. Everything you need is high quality and ready for use. You can BYO food or eat at the restaurant. (We ate there once and it was good but not marvelous.) The resort is right on the highway but set in the forest 6 or 7 miles on the Flagstaff side of Sedona. We found this to be a positive and part of why it is one of those "special" kind of places. Mehr

The Junipine Resort was pretty much as advertised. The unit we stayed in was on the creek and not as upgraded as some units but the furnishings were perfectly adequate, just not plush, and very clean. The setting was absolutely beautiful but remote. If you are looking for peace and tranquility in a remote setting, this resort is for you. It is located […] 8 miles outside of Sedona up a winding, narrow road, which is very dark at night or in a thunderstorm. After we got used to the trek between Junipine and Sedona it didn't bother us but the first day or two it was a pain to drive 15 minutes to a restaurant, shopping, hiking, etc. There was no cell phone reception in the unit we stayed in (apparently because we have Verizon) and no wireless either, although when the staff checked it out they thought it was my wireless modem's problem. There is a computer in the lobby we used so if necessary you do have access to the internet but it was not convenient, However, as I said, if you are looking to "get away from it all" then the lack of cell phone, internet or restaurants should only add to the peace and tranquility of the isolation. We enjoyed our stay but learned that it was a bit too remote for us in the future. Mehr

Simply Amazing location and accommodations. Well priced and clean. The staff were friendly and the stay far surpassed my expectations.

Over all I give the Junipine 4 stars. There were little things that were not right. Burnt out light bulbs, non-working DVR, broke clock.

Our unit was superb. A house really, fully equipped, well kept. We were really pleased withall the amenities in the unit. Nice walk by Oak Creek on site. Friendly, helpful staff. On site restaurant good for breakfast, not so good for dinner - overpriced for ordinaary food. But overall very pleased, we would go back.

The location of this resort is good if you know that you will be 15 minutes from "uptown Sedona". We really enjoyed the food at the cafe and the wood burning fireplaces were perfect. The grounds were in excellent condition and the rooms were fairly up to date.

The hotel is actually a collection of mountain/creek side condos and townhouses. We got upgraded to a creek-side unit since we stayed on weekdays during a relatively less busy week. The unit we stayed was a two bedroom plus loft townhouse, very spacious, updated and comfortable. The kitchen had the essentials for cooking. The deck was big, over-looking […] the creek and very private. We had breakfast on the deck every morning when we stayed there. The hotel staff was great. I forgot my backpack, with a few thousand dollars of professional camera gear inside, in the hotel room after we checked out. They called us immediately. I missed the call since I had my phone on silent mode. They then mailed the bag to me after I had already left town. We would definitely stay there again next time we go to Sedona. Mehr
