Jameson Inn Oak Ridge - Oak Ridge

The room smelled like smoke even though it was non-smoking. There was no refrigerator. The room was kind of small. I asked for a 7:30 wake up call but they called at 7:10. I don't feel it was worth what I paid. I know people who stayed in Comfort Inn down the road & their pool was bigger & they had refrigerators for the same price.

Not bad hotel. It had a fitness center, which was ok. It was 1 fitness machine and a few bikes. Enough to do the basics. Pool was ok. A little small, and could have used a little sprucing up. Room was clean, beds were firm. BAthroom a little small. Overall 3.5 out of 5.

Very convenient to the airport, quiet enough, close to several restaurants, including one outstanding local one - Darfon's. Bed was comfortable, though the mattress pad didn't quite fit and got wrinkly. Room was clean, service good. Not luxury, but definitely good enough.

Pleasant place. Wireless internet was free. The exercise room is not very extensive, with only a few machines and no weights, but it was available to midnight.

pros: Nice small compact hotel. Room was good, liked the window. Good service Cons: The fitness was outside the main building, meaning had to walk out in the cold to get there, albeit for a few seconds. I was expecting it in the building itself. Overall I give it 4 stars, for the reasonable price and service.

This is the second time I've stayed at this hotel and the second time I was disappointed. The hallway leading to my hotel room smelled like a port-a-john the whole time. The hotel attempted to cover up the smell with some sort of spray which just enduced a headache. Since I travel for business, by the time I get to my room, I'm extremely tired and ready […] for a good night's sleep; however, I couldn't get a good sleep unless I took a sleeping pill. You could hear every little thing in the hallway and even the next door. I knew when my neighboring guests were even taking a shower or using the toilet. With the price being reletivly expensive and not having the promised amenities it's not worth the price paid. The outdoor, no heat/air, workout facility that was BROKEN didn't allow me to workout as I do when I'm not on the road. No healthy options for breakfast or fruit even available didn't help either. I had a choice between all cream based items. I could pack my own oatmeal - which was my only option available on a healthier side. The only options contained: sausage and biscuits, cereals, muffins, waffles and oatmeal. Fat, dairy based items and sugar! Not good for anyone with a healthy or limited diet (gluten free options, sugar free options, or dairy free options). My advice, stay somewhere else. Mehr

Everything was fine

This place is hands down a dream for someone on business in the area. Kelly help me with important documents that needed to be faxed and also recommended a great Brew pub. She wrote out directions herself in fact.

During breakfast, I asked for water (as there was no one in the dining room, I had to go to reception). The lady at the reception asked me to go to fountain somewhere in corridor of the hotel and drink the water. Breakfast was not good either.

Looking at this location, it appears to be adequate - very much a cookie-cutter hotel. I wasn't scared to stay there, but this place would very quickly fade in my memory of places I've stayed - and I've stayed in many third-world countries. Everything here was adequate. If not for the fact that UT was probably playing in some distant village, this […] hotel would be very comparable to $75 hotels anywhere. Unfortunately, I had to pay a bit more. My only real complaint was that the third floor hallway smelled quite offensive. Luckily I walk quickly, so I was into my room and out of the odor quickly. If you find yourself in Oak Ridge, there are bound to be worse places to stay, so you wouldn't worry to much - but don't go out of your way to make a reservation there... Mehr
