parking a pain but not unmanageable. The prox to Central park and restaurants is fabulous. The room was very small but workabble for a cheap vacation to the city :)

made it impossible to sleep through the night. The elevator kept dinging and anytime someone walked down the hall you could hear it.

very tiny rooms. Wireless is patchy. Dont seem to care for keeping the rooms in order. overall clean. One day I had a water leak in bath, which they took crae of it immediately and my friend found a dead cockroach in tub. Great location near subway good places to eat/shop.

The rooms are small, but very clean. The neightborhood is quiet with easy access anywhere. Lots of good places to eat near by. I highly recommend.

Front desk was unfriendly and not helpful. The rooms are TINY and there is no sound proofing so you can hear everything (and our room was near the elevator so you could hear everyone's conversations while they waited and the ding of the door opening and closing quickly got annoying). Right near the 1 train, which was convenient and the Upper West side […] is really nice and safe, but also not in the heart of the NYC action. Also, do not have the hotel call you a cab to the airport - they offer a fixed rate that is 10-20$ more than if you just find your own cab. Mehr

Pro's: Great price for NYC, 2 stops from Lincoln Center, 5 min subway to Times Square, clean room, lots of towels, room heated up quickly when temperature was adjusted. Con's: The shower was freezing and then boiling - no comfortable temperature. Rooms are tiny. No clock/radio. Bottom line - You get what you pay for, but for one night it was just […] fine. Smallest room ever! Til I saw bathroom..... Its nit a bad place to use as a stop over for a night but couldnt possibly consider staying longer.

The location is perfect and the hotel is reasonably priced. We were thrilled to find this hotel for our first visit to the city. It was 1/2 block from the subway line that we always seemed to need. There was so many restaurants and shops in the area and the immediate area felt safe. The hotel is renovated, very clean and nice rooms, very small though (so if you are a "bigger" person it will be hard to move inside the regular double room) They have complementary Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. Checked in late at night and was directed to a deli at the end of the block in response to my request for ice. The bathroom was nicely appointed but the shower head blasted water (not adjustable) so hard against the opposite wall of the shower it created a puddle that spread around most of the bathroom floor in seconds. Way overpriced for no coffee, no closet, intermittent hot water, no place to hang anything even on a hook. Beds were lopsided and the hotel was very loud. Neighborhood was noisy and cleaning staff spoke very loudly in the hall for about 45 minutes at 6 am. Free wifi was also intermittent. hotel was clean, accomodations simple but well-kept. a bit pricey for what it is but overall, would recommend for an overnight stay.

Has always been a great value, now that it has been remodeled, has to be the best deal in NYC!!

I stayed for a week at the Belnord at the end of Feb 2012 and had a great time. Nice hotel, very clean and helpful staff. Useful to have computing and printing facilities for printing off boarding pass ($2 for ten mintues) and free wireless and use of a hairdryer was a real help. I was on the 5th floor but the lift was efficient. The hotel itself and […] the surrounding neighbourhood are very quiet and I slept very well. Limited TV channels but this didn't bother me. This was the cleanest hotel room I have ever stayed in. I was in the executive single, which is designed for one person (although two could fit). It had hardwood floors, high ceilings, digital thermostat control (much better than a window unit) and a super clean shiny bathroom. The hallways and elevator were also very clean and in good condition and […] there was a communal kitchen area with refrigerator. The wood/ceramic tile in the hallways makes the place very clean. It was very conveniently located to subway, restaurants, museum, and other upper west side attractions. There are two things to note: The room and bathroom are very small. This is not a room for hanging out in (which you shouldn't be doing if you've come to New York, because the whole world is outside to see). You cannot use the room for a business meeting because there is no desk or chair. But I really liked it, as all I did was sleep there and watch some TV. Secondly, the hard flooring, while allowing the halls to be spotlessly clean, does allow more sound to echo, so if you are sensitive to sound you may want some earplugs. Small, but comfortable room. Location is fantastic - 1 block to train, and only a 5 minute train ride from times square. I would definitely stay here again. I'm only in it to sleep in it!

We only needed a room for 1 night so I cannot give much of a review. I liked it but I think they should get in the habit of putting 2 sets of towels in each room, instead of 1 mismatched set. We were very happy with the cleanliness and cozy atmosphere. It was well located for us and very near the subway. We can't wait to stay there again.

Me and My boyfriend had a great time!! Very small rooms but very clean, good hot water. location was awesome close to almost everything we needed. Alot of eating places and open very late. The rooms had hard wood floors and headboards. very nice, and very safe neighbor hood not enough space to move in room but i LOVED IT. the price was specially cheap. […] so even if your in town for the night and want to get away. My stay at the Belnord Hotel was very pleasant. The rooms here are very small and only big enough for the bed and a small night stand, however I found this to be sufficient for my needs. Conveniently located. Friendly staff rooms are extremely small. Smaller than cruise ship rooms! You can hear everything in that hotel. Good for the price. Good if you are only planning to shower and get ready to go out. The hotel room was small, but clean. The location was ideal, and I felt completely safe coming and going at any time. It was an excellent combination of quality, function, and low pricing. The staff were all very helpful. The Belnord is a perfect choice for a quick business trip.

I had a quick stay in New York before returning home and chose this because of the price. I was extremely disappointed with it. The room was tiny (not an issue really) but the biggest issue was the noise. There was a generator or something under my room which started every hour, all through the night and kept waking me up. I recently booked a night at the Belnord to attend an event uptown. I usually just stay with friends, but I knew that the subway ride back to Brooklyn could take at least an hour and a half and I didn't want the travel hassle. The price of the hotel made it feasible. The room was quite small (no room for a chair or desk) but clean and comfortable. […] My main suggestion, especially if you're a light sleeper, is to bring earplugs. this hotel is very convenient. it is very close to central park west and subway trains. even though the room is very small is served its purpose well. very clean lobby and friendly desk staff! the price was right I would def stay here again!

This hotel was OK. The room was teeny tiny, knocked your elbows on the walls tiny. Sheets were mildly stained, not gross yucky stains, but old pen marks and the like - you didn't really want to crawl between them. In a nice neighborhood, plenty of restaurants and a little shopping within close walking distance. The parking garages in the area where […] extremely expensive. We have slept at this Hotel twice because we did not know that the room are the smallest I have ever seen anywhere. We taught we had seen small rooms elsewhere in the world but this Hotel wins the CAKE. We were in NYC to take a boat for a cruise so the night before our cruise the room ventilation was very noisy and it took us a while to understand that […] it was not a parked truck outside that had it's motor running but that it was the floor bellow us ventilation system that was making that noise. The bed was not very comfortable. The second room after the cruise was a bit bigger but not enough since we had to put our luggage in the bathtub to make sure we would have room to move in the room. The washroom was almost half the size of the room and our cabin during the cruise was way bigger. The price was fair but I did not like the service. I stay at the Belnord often when I am in NYC. It is very convenient for my business when I am in town, and it is also very clean and well maintained. I believe that the rooms have been recently renovated. The only challenge is that the rooms are very small. The room itself is only slightly larger than the size of the bed - just enough space to walk […] around the bed but no more. If that doesn't bother you, then I highly recommend it! Mehr

This was a very nice, small,clean,quiet hotel in a great neighbourhood with good shopping and close access to the park and museums. Perfect if you want a taste of the life New York residents live, Very convenient if you want to get downtown as it is one block to the subway and about 10 minutes to Times Square.
