Das Hotel Shelley liegt in direkter Umgebung des Art Deco Distrikts von Miami Beach und ist keine 5 Minuten (eine Querstraße) vom Ocean Drive und somit dem Nachleben von Miami Beach entfernt. Zwischen 18 Uhr und 19 Uhr haben alle Hotelgäste an der Bar die Getränke kostenlos, man kann sich also wunderbar auf der außenliegenden Terrasse auf das Nachtleben […] einstimmen. Cooles Hotel für junge Leute, perfekte Lage im Art Deco District

Eher für junge Leute geeignet. Wir hatten etwas Pech, da die Dusche zwar funktionierte, aber nicht in die ideale Richtung spritzte, der Föhn, die TV-Fernbedienung sowie die Nachttischlampe wegen Defekt ausgetauscht werden mussten, was aber prompt geschah. Made reservations through hotels.com and was not made aware that a huge electronic music festival was going to be launched in the lobby of the hotel! Music was playing until 5am so loud that the walls were shaking. They also messed up our reservation. I had requested 2 queen size beds as we had 3 people. They had one room available, which was the size […] of a postage stamp-with only one bed! There wasn't even enough room on the floor to add a cot (which they didn't have available). When I asked for additional bedding to make something on the floor, they gave us a small thin blanket. The pictures of this place make it seem like a cute chic SoHo style boutique hotel. This is not the case at all. Whoever did they're website is a magician, do not go off the photos, read the reviews instead. Awful awful experience. Will NEVER go back. Mehr

Hotel is simple does not offer much, but cocktails in the evening with a 2-4-1 guest voucher. Lobby really small but nicely set up. Staff is friendly, young people mostly. Phone in the room did not work (111) but clean and really really small and dark. It had a mini bar and a flat screen. Cool bath. No shortage of towels this time. The hotel had an outstanding location and the hotel overall was nice. Nicely decorated and well kept and very clean, The room overall was fine, however, the water pressure in the shower was so low, it was horrible. The lighting in the room made the room seem romantic, but not enough.The closet did not have a light in it and it was painted in a very […] dark color so you could not see a thing. Trying to iron a shirt was impossible because there wasnt a plug anywhere in the room except behind the mini fridge that was between the beds. The beds were comfortable to me and had plenty of pillows and nice thick blanket. Nice television, very nice robes and nice toiletries. The room was small, but ALL old hotels in South Beach are that way, they have just been remodeled. So I expected that from past experience in other hotels. We tried twice to order room service and they never answered the phone. We paid for valet parking $32 a day and had to wait each time 1 hour for the car to arrive. So call the front desk waaay ahead of time for your car, so you dont wait. Honestly, I would definitely stay there again because at least now I know what to expect, but the most important things were location, clealiness and comfort. I got all those at this hotel. Also, the front desk personnel was very, very friendly and accomodating. I have a feeling that if I had mentioned the things I had problems with, they would have taken care of it as best they could. The hotel itself is ok, clean but small and dark. The service was average. Location of the hotel is its best advantage.

The hotel was quaint, clean and very accommodating but the rooms were pretty small. I didn't use the room much so the price was right and the location wasnt bad. I would most definitely stay again.

This was a last minute booking..all-in-all, we were happy and comfortable with this hotel. would have liked to see more plug outlets..otherwise, no real complaints...great location, the rooms were cute..nice staff.

I usually stay at the Chesterfield and thinking Hotel Shelley is their sister hotel it would be about the same. It wasnt...for the the price it should have been nicer then the chesterfield and the staff at night were not very nice. Didnt wanna do anything for you.

Stayed here one night.... the convenience was what made it worth the money. Very small room and visit in the night from a cockroach .... my suggestion sleep with the lights on. I would stay again based on service and convieniece....

This place just SUCKED! The valet parking was 32 dollars and the room was soo small two people couldnt walk without bumping into each other

First, this is not a Hiton (or whatever chain) this is a nice hotel for South Beach. You are paying for the location (1block from beach and all the action). Somethings to help you out; the shuttle, picks up on the hour at door G upper level. The room is only big enough for 2 people (about 200 sq. ft.) You really don't need a car, food and shopping and […] beach are all walking distance. Car; an rent from Enterprise and they deliver and cheaper than the hotels rental co. (parking at hotel is $32 per night) The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was great ,room was so/so not very clean! The bathroom was very run down and very old (did not live up to pictures) . Being up charged for double beds $20 dollars a day and $15 dollar user charge. You could stay nicer digs when you add charges.

The floors are sticky and you glide across them. There is almost no light in the rooms, you can't open the windows and there is no fan in the bathroom. The last night they left us one towel each and our friends in another room had no towels the last night. Pros: 1- Location. Cons: 1-They charged extra $ after the hotel was paid and booked. 2- The rooms have no lighting. Cant see where you walking. 3- Big Cockroaches in the room. 4- Towels missing. 5- floors sticky and dirty. Over all: Waaaaaay to expensive for what you get.

The location of this hotel was great! I was a block away from the beach and in the middle of everything. My room was directly over the bar, so I didn't expect it to be quiet. The check-in process went very smoothly and Martin, at the bar, was very friendly. I can't wait to go back.

Had a really quiet night in room 116 at the Hotel Shelley on Halloween night. Expected noise and partying but it was really quiet in the room. The hotel is in a wonderful part of the city, one block from the beach. The room was small and there was no closet but the bed was extremely comfortable and the robes were an appreciated gesture. The parking […] valets were extremely helpful and we pulled up and left our car with no worry. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance and we walked up to the parade which was only 8 blocks away. Would recommend it to anyone traveling to the area. Mehr

I choose this hotel because of the location of south beach. Coming to Miami just for an overnight stay before going to my final destination, I expected a shabby hotel but it is not at all. The building is typical art deco. I had a good overview from South Beach. I have been upgraded to a suite. The staff was very helpful. The free of charge shuttle […] bus was very convenient. The hotel location is very convenient, only a block away of Ocean Drive. You can´t park on Cullen Ave, but there is a parking 2 blocks from the hotel that is open 24 hours. The only problem I found was that when I arrived at the hotel (at 12:30 pm) they told me that my room would not be available until 3:00 p.m...I had supposed that I could do the check […] in at noon. I love small boutique hotels and I will definitely add Shelley to my fav list. The only thing I didn't like was the thin walls and no elevator. Maybe not for Families with children,but to explore the nightlife and if you want a great location it's PERFECT !!!WE LOVED IT !!!!The room was clean and the staff friendly.The only (minor) thing : it could use a light in the closed area

My gf could not sleep because originally our room was right above the speakers in the lobby. When she brought this up to the front desk rep - he changed our rooms no questions asked. BEST SERVICE EVER!

If you are looking to stay in South Beach but don't want to spend that much on the hotel then Hotel Shelly is a good choice. It doesn't have the high standards of a Merriot or Hilton but it's not as shabby as a motel or hostel. Our room was small but we had all the space we needed. Overall, everything looked pretty clean. But we still kept our flip […] flops on in the bathroom. The only concern was the lack of lights in the room and in the hallways. This made everything kind of dark and creepy during the night time. During the day we had plenty of light coming in through the huge window. We also didn't have any A/C during our stay which was disappointing. Also, the hallways were very smelly maybe that was due to the Hookah lounge in the hotel or maybe people were smoking other things. The hotel is within 5min walking distance to the Beach. There is plenty of shops and clubs nearby. Beware of the hotel upcharges: the hotel offers parking for $32 a night but it's cheaper to keep your car in a nearby parking garage. On top of that the hotel charges a $15 fee per night for their services such as providing towels and complimentary drinks at the bar whether you are perusing those services or not. When you add those fees to the price that you paid on hotels.com it becomes less of a good deal. Mehr

This was the perfect place for me and my 2 teenage sons. It is an affordable small hotel in the heart of South Beach, close to everything. Staff are friendly, room was tiny but clean and neat, with a mini-bar, a safe, and loads of pillows! AC worked beautifully and temperature was perfect when we arrived. The hotel had free happy hour from 7-8, with […] a front porch where we could sit and people watch. Food, including room service, were available from a partner hotel across the street. Staff were helpful and even extended themselves by offerring to hold luggage and give us beach towels when we arrived before our room was ready, and on our departure day, when we chose to stay on the beach after checking out of our room. Even though this wasn't one of the greatest hotels I've stayed at, I would probably stay there again becuase it is in a great location, the rate is low, and probably most importantly it has free shuttle to and from the airport. What I didn't like about the hotel though was that the t.v didn't work, the bathroom door didn't shut all the way, the temperature […] for the shower didn't adjust, and the supposed "clean" towels had hairs on them. This is a good hotel for young people on vacation. It's in a good location for partying. I, on the other hand, was on a business trip that got extended. I thought it would be nice to grab a room by the beach. Not a great choice. Yes, it's a block from the beach, but once I walked into the hotel and up the 3 flights of stairs in the dark and creepy hallway, […] I wasn't leaving. I first had to find parking on the streets of South Beach, which was an adventure. Once I found a spot, I had a homeless man insist on showing me how to use the parking meter until I gave him some money to go away. Once inside, on the 3rd floor, the music started in the lobby. It was so loud that the building was actually shaking. That went on until about midnight. My room was in the front of the building and the traffic of partying kids was INCREDIBLY loud until about 2 am. The hotel was very nice over all the staff was very curtious and helpful. The rooms where a bit small but for just sleeping was very good. Loved the bar it was very nice and convinient to hang out towards the end of the evening. Plus the shuttle bus to the airport was very convinient and it runs through out the day.

Hotel Shelley was ideal for my birthday trip. The quality of the experience exceeded my expectations since it was my first experience in a local hotel. The size of the room was wonderful. I never could hear the loud music that came from the lobby/bar area from my room on the second floor until I cake out of my room. The only minor complaint was the […] dimness in the room since my best friend and I both needed to curl our hair and the low lighting in the room made it a challenge. The free shuttle service to and from the hotel & free happy hour was another great bonus being two blocks from the beach. I will definitely stay there again. Mehr

close to everything, small but comfortable rooms. Cleaning (of the bathroom) could be better and replenishment of bath products depends on the day and cleaner I guess. Super thin walls so you can easily hear neighbours and the (loud) music played in the lobby in the evening. Very good point is the free safe in the room.

Date of stay 6/8/11-6/9/11. From the very beginning. Front desk staff was rude and made her best effort not to be accommodating. The rooms on the ground level smell moldy. The window in 111 has a large gap in it that would allow insects into the room. The room smells like bug spray. But of course another room would not be forthcoming. This hotel was at an absolute amazing location. You really cannot do better for the price. We did see 2 cockroaches in the bathroom which was disturbing, but that was it and it was only on the last day of our stay. Aside from that, the room was very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful.
