"Great place to stay for departure on Amtrak."
We love the La Posada's Turquoise Room Restaurant. The hotel is a wonderful piece of history. The prices from hotels.com made this trip very affordable. Everything about our stay was perfect including the weather!!!!

This is our 5th or 6th time to stay and every time, we are extremely satisfied with every thing about the hotel. The staff are wonderful, the food exquisite and the art spectacular! For this kind of hotel, the price is fantastic! I wouldn't hesitate referring anyone to this hotel. Dr. M
"La Posada in Winslow"
My wife and I drive from Santa Fe to Pasadena every spring and have had lunch at the Turquoise Room on the way to CA, but being too early to stop, we never stayed overnight. On our return trip this year we decided to book at La Posada even though it is at the limit of our daily range. We have been caught before in bad weather (snow) around Flagstaff […] at this time of year - but we are glad we made the reservation. We are now going to do it every year and hope the weather holds. The hotel is very reasonable. Warning - we spent more in the Turquoise Room than for the room - but both were well worth it! "Great hotel but,,,"
A must to experience hotel, but BE SURE to remove all valuables from your car. Thieves case out the parked cars in the hotel lot. Other than losing about $850 worth of electronics out of the car, the hotel is great and the restaurant top notch. Thanks to the staff for being so helpful. Also the local policeman. "La Posada"
If you are looking for combining a piece of history along with an outstanding hotel experience, this is the place. The ghost of Fred Harvey is definintely having a positive affect on the outstanding quality at La Posada. And if you think the hotel is good, wait until you try The Turquoise Room Restaurant, it is unmatched. The front desk was very attentive to personal need and wants. The hotel is really a treasure in an otherwise dead city.

This hotel far surpassed my expectations. The decor, food, staff, and grounds were just beyond compare. We were, like many people, passing through on route 66 on our way to the grand canyon, and this was a welcome retreat. I wish we could have stayed longer. It would be a great place to spend a couple of days just recharging yourself and has options […] for older kids like a great room with board games and a fireplace. Great old railway hotel undergoing amazing renovation. The history of the hotel is very interesting...read the story or watch the video at the hotel. BE SURE to book one of the renovated rooms. The native American shopping in the hotel is really good. The restaurant is 4 star.
"Like Staying in a Museum"
Very cool place to stay. Definitely the most interesting spot in Winslow. Comfortable room and lots to see in the way of architecture, art & history. Good restaurant and friendly staff. A great value.
Absolutely loved this hotel! Enjoyed the history, the art was outstanding, information about the restoration was interesting. The dining room, service and meal was great. I would go out of my way to stay here again, and I'm totally recommending it to my friends. Had a wonderful experience.

"La Posada-has a lovely garden."
The hotel was very southwestern with a hint of the past railroad station. We enjoyed the gardens and quiet in the morning. The room was small but quaint. There was no air conditioning in the hotel, other than the room. This was uncomfortable part of the time because of the humidity. Overall an enjoyable stay.
"La Posada worst experience of a lifetime in travel"
It was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. There were no bugs, that was the only thing good about it. We had to walk a long way to get into the hotel, it was dirty,the air conditioner did not cool the room, it had a matress that was so lumpy that I checked to see if it was hay. The bathroom was pitiful,there was no room to even get dressed, my husband […] could not even use his water pic because there was no where to put the machine.This place was a total let down and the dining room was reservation only for dinner. This hotel is a jewel. Beautifully restored Fred Harvey / Railroad hotel. It is a 'must see' kind of place. The first time we stayed, it was in the (Charles) "Lindberg" room, the most recent, it was in the (Gene) "Autrey" room - rooms that those persons had stayed in at one time.. One could spend all day inside the hotel checking out all the historical […] items and stories of the hotels history and history of the people and the region - all on display. There was a great exhibit of contemporary art on display: paintings, sculptures, etc. The Turquois Room restaurant featured a menu one would expect to find only in places like Dallas or Chicago. Mehr

This hotel is definately on your "bucket list" of things to see. It is a wonderful 1930 hotel restored to its former glory. The hotel was once theplace for the rich and famous people and today it is a place to just unwind and relax.

"La Posada"
While doing a trip on old Route 66 had heard of this hotel for years and decided to get a reservation. This was one of the highlights. Beautifully restored and a real piece of American history. Can't say enough about what a lovely place and friendly staff. This is a must see.
La Posada is a renovated Harvey House designed by Mary Colter. If you like history, architecture, design or Southwestern gardening you'll love La Posada. The restaurant is fantastic. The chef uses locally grown produce. We loved everything we ordered!
The hotel is awesome. We really enjoyed staying there and plan on making a yearly trip there. Alot of history in the hotel, accomodations were very nice. The resturant has great food, although a little pricey.

This hotel is steeped in the history of the Santa Fe railroad. It is being redone to bring it back to it's original magnificance. Beautiful gardens, an art gallery and amazing ambiance. Very friendly staff always available to answer questions. lots of historic features with pictures. We are already planning our next trip to LaPosada. It's like taking […] a step back in time. "Wonderful Historic Hotel"
Like stepping back in time. Very happy to see historic buildings like this being restored. Restoration is still being done in one wing but that did not bother us or other guests in the already restored wing. Restaurant and bar are very good. Front office help was a bit indifferent but otherwise everything was great. Winslow has very little going for […] it but this hotel and the "Standin on the Corner Park". Mehr

La Posada is a sparkling gem in a place you least expect it! I live less than 1 hr from Winslow and didn't even know La Posada existed! I HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone who has the opportunity to stay there. It is exceptionally clean and comfortable. The rooms are each one of a kind, with furnishings and decor that reflects the hotel's colorful […] history. The care and detail that have been put into the reconstruction and rehabilitation of this site is astounding. Be sure that you allow yourself lots of time to hang out at the hotel and experience it's serenity. See all the gardens and amazing architecture showing the brilliance of Mary Colter; who was an architect, a visionary and a genius! Watch the DVD by Allan Affeldt about the history and process of restoring the buildings to truly understand the miracle of La Posada. All I can say is make sure a visit here is on your bucket list! The room was wonderful. A little warm so we went down to tell the front desk(no phones to call,yeah) and they were in the room before I got back up to it. The girl opened all the windows and it cooled down immediately. It was great. Fresh air and the sounds of outdoors. "Historic La Posada"
Taking a tour of the hotel was like touring a museum full of history, interesting facts, cozy nooks inviting readers and board games. Videos on owners/artist were also ineresting. My husband and I got a kick out of the famous people's pictures and data of their stays hung outside the rooms they occupied. The enclosed garden was enchanting, even though […] most of the flowers were finished blooming. Got a great picture of us near the sunflowers. However, was disappointed with the breakfast menu. I'm not a heavy morning eater and was looking for a lighter fare ie., a plate of fresh fruit with a few pieces of good cheese to go with your delicious bread and perhaps yogurt. "Beautiful Hotel"
We were visiting several historic hotels in the Southwest, this was our favorite. La Posada is beautiful, the love and attention of the owners is evident everywhere. Absolutely charming. The Turqoise room serves delicious food. La Posada is also dog friendly. The staff is helpful, friendly and clearly love their jobs.

"Outstanding hotel"
If you are anywhere near Winslow/Sedona/Flagstaff and need a hotel, it is well worth the drive to stay at this hotel. Simply beautiful and full of history - not to mention the world class restaurant. Try the elk medallions and squash blossom appetizer.
