Wir waren über Himmelfahrt und das anschließende Wochenende in London (3 Übernachtungen) Pluspunkte: Das Hotel ist sehr verkehrsgünstig zu Paddington Station gelegen, wo 2 U-Bahnlinien und zahlreiche Buslinien abfahren. Einschränkend ist allerdings darauf hinzuweisen, dass derzeit die circle line (Hauptlinie ins Zentrum) am Wochenende wegen Bauarbeiten […] nicht fährt. Das Hotel wirkt sauber, unser Zimmer einschl. Bad waren auch recht sauber, das Personal war freundlich und bemüht. Negativpunkte: Nichtdestotrotz kann ich die sehr positiven Bewertungen vieler Gäste hier nicht teilen: Wir bekamen nach unserer Ankunft ein Zimmer im Keller zugewiesen (euphemitisch als "garden floor" bezeichnet). Der Kellerflur war "under construction", d.h. dort fanden Malerarbeiten statt, was mit entsprechendem Farbgeruch verbunden war. Anscheinend ist der Keller auch feucht, jedenfalls waren im (Keller-) Flur und in unserem Zimmer ständig Luftentfeuchter in Betrieb. Im Keller hat offenbar auch das Personal seinen Aufenthalt, jedenfalls befand sich neben unserem Zimmerfenster (das sich ohnehin kaum öffnen ließ) deren "Raucherecke". Auf unsere Beschwerde hin, bot man uns ein deutlich kleineres Zimmer mit Aussicht auf den Hinterhof an, weil das Hotel voll war. Wir haben davon keinen Gebrauch gemacht, was im Nachhinein betrachtet vielleicht ein Fehler war. Im Bad gibt es einen Stromanschluss nur für Rasierer, nicht für einen Fön ! Wer sich nach dem Duschen die Haare fönen will, muss das im Zimmer tun, wo es aber keinen Spiegel gibt ! Das Waschbecken ist sehr klein, die Dusche allerdings funktioniert ausgezeichnet. Zur Frühstückssituation: Das Hotel hat keinen Frühstücksraum. Die beiden Aufenthaltsräume neben der Rezeption sind dafür nicht ausgestattet. Man kann sich Frühstück aufs Zimmer bestellen, wir hatten allerdings keine Lust, morgens zum Frühstücken in einem Kellerzimmer zu sitzen. Das Hotel ist klein und gemütlich, die Zimmer sind sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Leider kann man nur auf dem Zimmer frühstücken, was bei der geringen Zimmergröße sicher kein leichtes Unterfangen ist. Insgesamt ist das Hotel für das, was es bietet, preislich zu hoch angesiedelt.

The staff of the hotel were attentive and enthusiastic throughout our stay. The location could not be more convenient as it was located a couple of blocks between Paddington Station (Heathrow Express and Paddington Tube stop) and Kensington Gardens. It was also near several bus lines leading into central London. The room was immaculate and very comfortable. […] It was smaller than typical American hotels but that is to be expected in London. Overall the stay was splendid and we will certainly stay at the Royal Park on our next trip to London. Mehr

We had a lovely stay at the hotel and the staff were top notch and very helpful. The rooms are on the small side, but extremely comfortable and conveniently located to Paddington Station without being on the congested main drag. Also very close to Hyde Park. We would definitely stay here again!

the hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. The living room and dining area on the first floor were elegant. Very welcoming with the fireplace. Location was near many sights, and close to an outstanding pub, The Swan. Only complaint was the rooms were so small we were on top of one another. Beautiful bathroom.

This place is in immaculate condition and the staff really goes out of their way to arrange dinner reservations, taxis and whatever. The rooms are all beautifully done and my family enjoyed our stay immensely.

My wife and I were delighted with every aspect of the hotel. The location was perfect, the room was lovely, the bathroom amazing, the breakfasts were excellent, and the staff were charming and efficient. In particular we would like to thank the doorman, a very helpful, caring and charming person. My recent stay @ the Royal Park Hotel was all i had hoped it would be. The room, although small, was cozy and the bathroom perfectly appointed. The only drawback was the warmth of the room. Despite every effort in adjusting the thermostat and opening the window, the heat could not be remedied. Perhaps i was over the kitchen? Just occaisionally reviews do get it right. The reviews I read said this hotel is a cracker, and I am pleased to say they were spot on. A nice hotel close to communications at Paddington but at the same time a little secluded. Double-plus for the breakfast in bed!

Lovely, cozy hotel with very sweet staff. However the floors are thin, meaning we could hear neighbors walking upstairs which woke us up. Other than that, very very comfortable.

I love this hotel. Feels like a home away from home...they treat you with respect, very attentive and just very friendly. I have been here twice and would not stay anywhere else - and I used to own a flat in London. This was a find. Thank you Thomas at Royal Park. Good people.

Location is great - you can walk to the hotel from Paddington easily...quick walk across the street to Hyde Park, and great launching spot for getting around West London, where I spend my time. Staff were wonderfully attentive, gracious and helpful. Bed was so comfortable, nice deep bath in the bathroom. What a lovely hotel and excellent staff! The hotel is beautiful. I booked a standard room, and was extremely pleased--it was furnished with antiques and one of the most comfortables beds I've slept on in some time. Royal Park is boutique hotel within walking distance from Paddington and Hyde Park. Excellent for business travelling. Room was small(ish) but clean and tidy. Tube is close and the area around the hotel quiet and peaceful. Very nice experiance.

This hotel was a great value for the price.. Close to Paddington station so you can take the heathrow expresss and close to the tube, Lancaster Gate. Very clean, crisp new sheets. Cant wait to stay here again....

This is truly a gem of a boutique hotel. The service and quality of the entire hotel is unsurpassed. Every detail is of the highest quality, not to overlook the elegance of the bedding! Our air conditioner was not up to par and we were immediately relocated to an upgraded room. The staff are of the highest caliber.

Great hotel in a quiet residential area, yet still quite close to the attractions. Easy walk to the Hyde Park, everything else reachable by metro or tour bus unless you like to walk for over 30-40 minutes. Staff was wonderful!! Very accomodating. Formerly a large and elegant and family home, the Royal Park is a West London treasure. A boutique hotel, it is located within walking distance of Paddington Station, on a tree-lined street with large homes. Nearby are Hyde Park and Kensington gardens, as well as the Victoria and Albert. There are many excellent ethnic restaurants within 2-3 blocks. […] The hotel has every amenity: half-canopied beds in spacious rooms, luxurious bathrooms, welcome glass of port, champagne in the parlour in early evening, complimentary online access on the first floor, and an enormous bowl of apples on the parlour table. We had a wonderful stay at the Royal Park. The staff are extremely attentive, generous and helpful. The rooms are very clean and very comfortable. The location is great - a nice walk through Hyde Park to get to the sites, and very easy to get to Heathrow from Paddington Station around the corner. We only stayed at the Royal Park for one night between returning from a cruise into Dover and our flight back to the States the next day. I originally chose the hotel due to its proximity to Paddington Station and the Heathrow Express, but then realized that a car service is about the same price as two Express tickets, and we didn't have to haul our […] bags the two-three blocks to Paddington then from station to terminal. Even so, although I'd prefer to be closer to the action (and did so on our earlier pre-cruise 4-day visit), this is an interesting neighborhood with good restaurants, a block from Hyde Park and the tube station (though it's one that requires a lift down to the station), and lots of small brownstone hotels and residences. Note that, like most London hotels, the rooms are VERY small. There is no shower curtain or door on the tub, so the shower does tend to spatter on the floor. Minor inconvenience. The facade of this hotel was under construction and with only a small plaque on one of the columns out front, it's not easy to find, even for the exceptional London taxi drivers. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. If you want to be in a quieter neighborhood away from the action but near the Paddington train station, this is a very good bet. Mehr

This hotel was close to Paddington Station and Lancaster Gate, it is clean, very comfortable bed it could have been bigger, the staff friendly but our room was extremely small. The restaurants and banks and all within walking distance. All in all a comfy stopover.

I spent many hours researching hotels in London for my recent trip. I have never been to Europe before and had heard some horror stories of the hotels so my girlfriend was very adamant on doing our due diligence before we booked anything. After reading the reviews online, we booked the Royal Park Hotel and couldn't be happier with our choice. The hotel […] is very close to Paddington Station which made airport access very easy. The Hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very large and most importantly CLEAN. Lovely traditional small hotel- very comfortable. Front desk staff were really helpful. Hotel was being painted inside during our visit- not a problem for me but good to know. There are some steps, but the staff is helpful and would help with luggage as needed. 2 elevators. Daily newspaper. Rooms are cosy and well equipped. Lovely small hotel with great rooms. The bath was large, clean and very nice. This room was better than I expected and we would be happy to stay there again. The tea offered by reception upon arrival was a life saver. Room service breakfast was excellent too. All round great!

Spent quite a large amount of money on a standard room and i was definitely expecting a lot more from the hotel gauging from the photos. The room was on the lower floor and the air conditioner wasn't working properly so it was incredibly hot. The higher rooms may be a lot better. The rooms were also very tiny. I can not say enough good things about this establishment. We arrived 3 hours before check-in and the staff was very friendly and had our room ready in 5 minutes. The desk manager showed us to our room, which overlooked what use to be the queens stables and are now lovely houses, and had cofee delivered to our room because we were exhausted . We were […] told he put us there because it was away from the street and very quiet, which it was. Our room was spacious and extremely clean with turndown service every night. The hotel is 2 blocks from the Paddington train and underground station. We took the Heathrow express train from the airport ,which took 15 minutes and cost half of what a cab would have. The Paddington tube station has a connect to 4 separate lines which makes it very easy to get anywhere in London without switching trains. The neighborhood around the hotel has everything that you could ask for on vacation. There are numerous resturants, food stores and money exchangers all within a 2 block walk and is not in a tourist area which makes it peaceful. Hyde Park is a short walk away with a city tour bus stop if that interests you. We are already planning our next trip to London and will definately stay in the Paddington district again. The Royal Park is an exceptional find. The building and its decorative order fully justify the "small boutique hotel" description. The atmosphere is calm and civilised. Staff are attentive, courteous, well trained and highly professional. They also smile. My room was elegant, comfortable and particularly well appointed; the bathroom was stylish. Nothing […] frumpy. I cannot remember when I last stayed in a hotel room that was so well lit - plenty of dimming halogen lights in the (high) ceiling, supplemented by wall and table lights. No traffic noise. Housekeeping staff managed a number of delightful touches in preparing the room daily. The location is a few minutes' walk from both Paddington and Lancaster Gate tube stations, giving superb access to the tube network and to Heathrow. There are a wide variety of restaurants nearby from greasy spoon cafes upwards; lots of choice. For a jaded traveller familiar with far more expensive, more cynically commercial corporate hotel choices, the Royal Park offers a refreshing change. Highly recommended. Mehr

This is probably the nicest hotel I've stayed in London. The quality of London hotels in general seems far inferior to just about everywhere else I have ever stayed including Japan, US, and Europe. Second stay at the Royal Park and once again everything wonderfully done. Staff are very helpful, the hotel is beautiful, location great - near Paddington and just far enough away from the hustle and bustle. Will definitely go back every time we need a hotel near the station.
