Die Lage ist sehr gut. Trotz der zentralen Lage kein Lärm im Zimmer da sehr gut schallisolierte Fenster. Positiv ist auch das freie WLAN in den Zimmern. Leider hat das Hotel einen Renovierungsstau - die Zimmer sind ziemlich angegammelt. Gleiches gilt für das Frühstücksrestaurant. Frühstück im Egon sehr Gut und reichhaltig.

Entscheidend für uns war die gute Lage neben dem Bahnhof von Oslo sowie in der Nähe der Sehenswürdigkeiten. Der Empfang im Hotel war freundlich. Der Frühstückraum war zu eng und es entstand ein Gedränge um die Tische und das Buffet.

Zunächst: Das Scandic Byporten liegt am Ende der Einkaufspassage (Ausgang Nord), aber praktisch noch im Bahnhofsgebäude!! Die Beschriftung könnte besser sein. Wenn die Shops zu sind, kann man nur mehr von außen ins Hotel und muss anläuten. Frühstücksbuffet (im angrenzenden Restaurant) reichhaltig, wenn viele Gäste sind, wird´s eng. Zimmerservice (Sauberkeit) […] könnte wesentlich besser sein. Schloss und Hafen zu Fuß in ca 15 Min erreichbar. Alle Öffis vor der Tür! Allerdings: Teilweise typische "Bahnhofsumgebung". Mehr

Das Hotel liegt un Unmittelbarer Nähe des Hauptbahnhof. Das ist auch der einzige Vorteil, denn es hat sonst nichts zu bieten. Die Einrichtungen sind veraltet, und das Frühstück musste in einem grufftigen Restaurant daneben eingenommen werden. Die Drogenhandels-Scene ist ebenfalls vor dem Eingang des Hotels

Freundlicher und angenehmer Service, bei Reklamationen wird sofort und unkompliziert gehandelt. Sehr schönes Restaurant mit gutem Frühstücksbuffet. Lage sehr zentral, nur wenige Schritte bis zu den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln und der Einkaufsstrasse. Zimmer sehr klein, jedoch schön und gepflegt eingerichtet.

Ein sehr angenehmes Hotel mit sehr freundlichem Personal. Sehr zentral gelegen und trotzdem ruhig. Die Zimmer sind zwar klein, aber angenehm und modern eingerichtet und haben ausgezeichnete Betten. Auch das überaus reichhaltige Frühstücksbuffet im angeschlossenen Restaurant ist überdurchschnittlich.

Das Hotel ist für alle Sehenswürdigkeiten super gelegen. Anreise super einfach, da es gleich wenige Schritte neben dem Bahnhofbuffet liegt. Frühstücksbuffet lässt nichts zu wünschen übrig. Würde sofort wieder in dieses Hotel gehen.

Positiv: Super Lage, Gratisfahhrad (leider nur 2 Fahrräder, könnten mehr sein), netter Service in Englisch auch, Gratis-Internetservice, rel. grosses Zimmer Negativ: Abfluss Waschbecken, es dauert bis warm Wasser aus der Dusche fliesst, zu hell - dunklere Vorrhänge wären angebrachter, zu kleiner Gepäckstauraum, überfüllte Reception - könnten mehr ReceptionistInnen […] anstellen Mehr

Wir reisten als Familie mit 2 Kindern mit dem Zug an und waren angenehm überrascht, dass das Hotel sozusagen beim Hauptbahnehof angeschlossen ist. Auch die Touristeninformation ist nur ein Katzensprung entfernt. Ebenso konnte in der Umgebung in den Einkaufszentren kostengünstig gegessen werden für norwegische Verhältnisse. Very good deluxe room. Biggest problem was the coldness of the room which was not alleviated by the borrowing of a heater.

The Scandic Byporten was right outside the train station and close to the bus depot, making it very handy if you are only in Oslo for a day. It is also within walking distance to the old part of Oslo. The hotel rooms were small, but comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was included and there was a lot of food to choose from. No bathtub or toiletries, just […] liquid soap. The hairdryer over-heated quickly. I arrived an hour before check-in, and had to wait for my room, but they had a large storage room for luggage. Very good location right next to the railway station. We were very disappointed that there was no electric jug in the room or tea`/coffee. We would very much have liked to make ourselves a cuppa.

The hotel has good standard and is just a few minutes away from the central station in Oslo, which makes it ideal for business trips with meetings in central Oslo. The rooms have all the facilities you need, and the breakfast at the nearby Egon restaurant is good, and varied enough to satisfied most needs. The staff was competent and friendly. The […] main drawback of the location unfortunately also showed itself while we were there. Oslo S has it's share of criminal elements, and these roam the area around the station. As a result the elevators etc are access controlled, but the lobby and restaurant is publicly accessible. Mehr

Great location, particularly for a first timer to Oslo. The hotel is right beside the central rail station so is easy to find. Breakfast buffet is good but gets busy. Rooms are small but functional and comfortable enough.

+ Perfect location. + Really good breakfast - No warm water around 10 pm two nights in a row.

Hi. As other reviews say this is not a 5* hotel but that’s the only flaw and wont loose points from me for that. Location is fantastic as weall as friendly staff,central location and nice clean rooms. Breakfast was also tot class. Couldn't have been more convenient, just out the door of the train station and a few steps right on the plaza! Staff was pleasant and accommodating. A wonderful restaurant was available for the included breakfast and otherwise. Would definitely stay there again.

Location is very convenient to Oslo S station, but hotel does not deserve 4 star rating. Cheapy towels and sheets and tiny rooms and not stellar service compared to other Scandic chain hotels.

Needed 2 rooms for 5 people. The 3 person room was roomy but the 2 person room was tiny, but typical for European hotels. Bathroom was modern and even had some shelves - unusual for European hotels. Rooms were neat. Beds were comfortable. No safe in room. Pay extra for internet in room. Helpful front desk and across the plaza from a huge information […] center. Location is central and great place to set up camp. It's literally next door to the train station so all types of people walking around but that just made it interesting. I was never worried about safety. Police presence but they had nothing to do. Definitely get the breakfast option. Food is incredibly expensive in Norway. The breakfast buffet was all you can eat with great variety of eggs/meats, fruits breads, etc. Good place to start your day. We had a car and parked in a public lot 3 blocks away. Never noticed if they had a valet option but doubt it.. Overall- might try another hotel just to see if I could do better but we were satisfied and would return if no obviouls better options Mehr

Good location , just 1 min. from the train station (Oslo S) , don't have to cross even a road. Very easy access to all kind of trams and buses. Good breakfast.

Great hotel to base out of to explore Oslo, or if you need to make an early train. Comfortable, and clean, and great breakfast.

Efficient and friendly staff, comfortable though very small room, extremely comfortable bed, excellent breakfast. Only complaints were no tea coffee making facilty in the room, although this was provided at no extra charge when I asked for it; and tiles fallen off in the bathroom. This is a great hotel for anyone planning to see Oslo. Everything is of high quality, especially the breakfast. Having stayed here a number of times, I can say that it is a bit on the pricey side, but you never worry about a bad experience.

Basic but comfortable and functional room including minibar, iron and ironing boad and hairdryer. Free wi-fi and free PCs in the lobby. The reception staff were all really friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet served in the Egon restaurant next door was huge - cereals, yogurts, fruit, cheeses, cold meats, boiled eggs, bacon, sausages, fried eggs, […] pancakes, pastries, breads, etc, etc. I was flying into Oslo late in the evening so it was convenient that this hotel is right next door to the main Oslo train station. However, this also led to a downside which was the number of drunks and drug addicts (or so it appeared) hanging about outside in the evenings. Mehr

The hotel was clean and convenient. I was traveling alone and felt secure and safe. It was located right by central station but you heard no normal city noise that you might expect and it was a fantastic location for jumping on public transport to any sight you might want to see. The staff were friendly and courteous.

Excellent location in the central station shopping complex, so great for arrivals from or going to the air port (using the airport train); easy walking to other points of interest in the downtown and close to city transport connections. Didnt find any signage in the station or the shopping mall to the hotel on my first visit, and impossible to guess […] its location so had to ask the mall information desk to find it. Good breakfast included in neighboring restaurant - eat well so you dont have to pay exborbidantly for lunch. Close to relatively cheaper eating spots (and it is relative in Norway!) This hotel was extremely convenient to public transportation and the central station. We arrived late, but they are open all night. The room was comfortable. The breakfast was exceptional and the food was excellent. This hotel, however, is located in a main courtyard in front of the central station and the central routes for busses and trams. It was […] also full of drug dealers and considerable drunken revelry till after 3 AM. Considering the location, this is probably to be expected, however it is a bit frightening to watch so much drug dealing and have no police intervention. Mehr

Great hotel and a great location. The only bad part is the entrance is buried in a small shopping center and very poorly marked and signed. We wondered around the block for 15 or 20 minutes until we finally saw the tiny entrance sign.

Nice hotal and the price was good for Oslo in summer. On top of the central train station so great place to stay if you are going in and out of Oslo by train. Also right near the city center. Room was good for Europe. What you would consider a 3 star in the US. Nice and clean but not fancy. We had a family room. It was a twin bed a nd 2 cots.

Located immediately outside trainstation - which in some ways is very nice - but whoa!!!!... I have NEVER seen a more depressed area of massive drug dealing going on in the train station square. My son and I would have dinner on second floor of hotel and watch the show - waitress told us it goes on EVERY DAY - and typically the police make 5 or 6 arrest […] per day - pretty depressing - as for the hotel.. staff was friendly...but the price was extremely over-priced for this cheap quality hotel. If you want central location... this is not a bad place.. .but it is the only positive feature I can rate... you would better off staying in same general location but different hotel. Mehr

Had a great stay at the Scandic Byporten. The front desk staff were extremely nice and helpful. The breakfast was very good and the location is right in the train station. It is the center of town, so there are some homeless, etc around the building at night, but had no issues or anything I would consider unexpected given the location. Convenient location in Oslo S Station. Ideal for arrival by Airport Express.

The room was what you would expect size wise. It was very clean with a lovely cubicle shower and heated floors. In terms of the price i would suggest it was about average. I stayed with the girl friend and spent two days there which is more than enough to explore oslo.

Great location directly outside Central Station and a short walk to City Centre. Buses, trams and taxis are also just outside the door. The complimentary breakfast at Egon restaurant was very good with lots of options, including fresh fruit and veggies. Front desk service was excellent and they went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.

Soooo convenient. Express train from airport takes you straight to Central Station and this hotel is right there -- 30 yards away. Outstanding breakfast, great location, etc. etc. Excellent all round.

Mycket bra läge om man ska se sig om i Oslo. All sorts kommmunikation finns precis utanför. Trots att vi bodde bredvid centralstationen blev vi inte störda av ljud och väsen. Bra frukost med mycket att välja på. Sköna sängar och bra med varsin läslampa. Vi är jätte nöjda.

Svært praktisk beliggenhet, upåklagelig service. Litt trangt på rommet for to pers. hvis en skal stryke, ble vanskelig å komme inn på badet.
