Arrived from Tokyo on the Shinnkansen, hotel is right inside the station which was fantastic. This hotel is very comfortable and has a great location, easy to get around Kyoto from here using trains or buses. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Hotel is big and the facilities of a high standard. There is a wide choice of restaurants in the hotel. Staff were very efficient and attentive. Granvia floors (14th & 15th floors) have bigger rooms and access to a smart private lounge.

Very good hotel and Outstanding service from the staff who could not do enough, even walking to the bus information office with us.. Only negative was it cost 10,050 yen for a swim!

A great location and polished facilities only barely make up for the misdirected service of this acceptably nice hotel. This is a 5 star hotel with 3 star hotel service at best, with a thin veneer of class. Do yourself a favour and try a ryokan instead. I was in the hotel bar listening to a dreadful piano singer and a helpful American told me of the […] fantastic ryokan he went to which sounded much better. Of course, if you need a hotel near the station because youre going to Tokyo the next morning, this hotel is right on top of it. But there are plenty of hotels around the station. The poor service started with the TV system not working - calling someone up to help made it worse. After dinner, problem still hadnt been fixed - at midnight I had another person try to fix it, no good. In a 5 star hotel at midnight, if i want to watch TV you should be able to watch TV. Can I get ironing done? Yes of course, we'll do it. 5 minutes later, an iron and ironing board appear at the door, here is your iron, do your ironing yourself. No thanks, please take the ironing board away. Ironing board stayed in my room. At checkout, an expression of disappointment and list of grievances is met with a smile and the bill. Im sorry, I just wanted to talk to you about a few things that made my stay not comfortable. Ah yes just sign the bill please and goodbye. This wasnt a language barrier thing, this simply being treated like a western devil with the desire to not deal with problems. This gaijin will not be returning. Oh and I eventually found out the problem with the TV was the HDMI cable wasnt plugged in. If 2 hotel technicians cant figure it out, something is seriously wrong here. Mehr

We stayed in Kyoto initially because of the beauty of the city. However, because of its proximity by train to so many other areas we extended our stay and moved hotels to the Granvia. We had a JR pass and it was so handy to just go downstairs to the platforms and food etc and spend our days travelling and visiting many areas. Kyoto is jam-packed with things to see and do and there is nothing better than having a super hotel right above the train station/bus terminal at the end of the day. It was steps from the local buses and the ticket agent for JR. There was a huge variety of restaurants in very close range. The concierge was excellent re sightseeing advice, and the room […] was spacious and well appointed. The service was top notch, and the staff did their very best to communicate in English when we needed it. Loved it! Mehr

Nara and Kyoto are amazing cities and the style and comfort of the hotel Granvia simply amplified a wonderful experience. Everyone at the hotel was so polite and helpful and made us feel truly welcomed. However we couldn't afford to eat there but found great places nearby. The hotel's situation means that you can easily get around the city by bus or […] train and of course travel to Nara. Its great to stay in a place where so many people are smiling. Great central location right above Kyoto train station. The rooms are clean and much larger than expected for Japanese standards. The staff are very helpful and speak good English. I would totally stay here again if I return to Kyoto.

My wife and I booked into a drafty Ryokan in December and found it too cold to stay. We would have been happy with any modern hotel with rooms available, but the Granvia Kyoto exceeded expectations. Gorgeous decor, great swimming pool. I would return there in a　second.

The Granvia Hotel in Kyoto-hotel experience was wonderful. We got a free upgrade to one of the deluxe rooms on the 15th floor. We had a beautiful view from the room. We highly recommend this hotel due to it's location. It's close to all the must-see sights. Trains and buses were easily accessible from Kyoto station.

this hotel is all about location, location, location. it is very convenient and being in the train station itself means savings on transportation costs to other locations accessible by train or bus. Room was surprisingly big; good value for money.

The Granvia is very centrally located, being part of the Kyoto Station complex, which makes it very convenient when arriving from the Kansai International Airport and for taking a bus or train to visit Kyoto. The room are fairly small but offers all amenities for this type of hotel; odd-numbered rooms face north and would give a view of Kyoto Tower; […] also be aware that the higher the room number, the further away you are from the elevator, which can mean quite a walk given the hotel configuration. My grief with the hotel and the reason for the low rating in the quality of service was due to what I would qualify as the "greed" factor. We arrived very early, at 8.30 am, after an overnight flight from Hong Kong, so I asked whether a room was available for us immediately. The reception clerk replied that the hotel was full and that check-in is at 3pm (while check-out, by the way, is by 12 noon). As I insisted, he then found a room available for us but I had to pay an extra 50% of the room rate for the "early" check-in. So, a room was available, but they just had to get the extra income rather than offer the convenience to a guest with a confirmed reservation. Shameful, in my opinion. Mehr

The hotel is directly above the Japan Railway station and one enters the hotel by escalator/elevator from the station. There are many restaurants and shops in the station as well as one department store. All shopping for necessities and souvenirs can be done without having to bring things back from a distance or go out in bad weather. The hotel itself […] is impeccable and the service is extremely attentive. The hotel has several high end restaurants as well. Rooms are stocked with a complimentary liter bottle of water daily and en English language daily newspaper is placed in the slot by the door of each foreign guest. Mehr

Great location if you are coming in by train or leaving by train. You can take the subway to the central part of Kyoto easily though. The stores and malls in the train station are incredible. So many restaurants, food stores and shops. The hotel itself is very nice. The only drawback was not having a pool for the kids to swim in after a long day walking […] around. Definitely recommended. I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights with my 18 year old daughter in July 2010. The hotel is in an extremely convenient location above the train station in Kyoto with the sightseeing bus terminals also out the front of the station. Compared to our stay at the Cerulean Tower Hotel in Tokyo the hotel is much more impersonal but the service could not be […] faulted whenever we asked for help. This is the 3rd time I've stayed in the Granvia-Kyoto and have very much enjoyed it every time. The staff is exceptional, the concierge was extremely helpful this time as I had a few extra days to see the sights. The hotel is connected to the train station which is very nice when you've got luggage. There are plenty of places to eat and shop.

We stayed 2 nights at the Hotel Granvia Kyoto and could not have been happier. I've traveled quite extensively to up-scale hotels on business and do have a basis for comparison, and have not had a better experience anywhere. Even though we were traveling with backpacks and wearing jeans and t-shirts, the service was gracious and respectful. The hotel […] is adjacent to the train station, which also houses a main subway and bus station, so traveling throughout the city from there was very easy. There are many shops and restaurants in easy walking distance, and the main shopping district is about a 30 minute walk away. The Concierge was most helpful pointing us in the right direction and providing maps for the attractions we wanted to see. The room was larger than most we had in Japan, beautifully appointed, with gorgeous views across the city. We did hear the music announcing train departures early in the morning, but it was more a delightful background than an irritation. Didn't hear the the trains or crowds at all. After leaving I found I'd lost a small item, and wrote asking if they'd found it. Their staff responded in less than 24 hours and was extremely helpful. I can't fault any part of the stay - it was as perfect as hotel living gets. Mehr

Hotel is connected to Kyoto main station, so it is very convenient. Lobby is very open, and concierge services are great. I’m not sure how it happened, but I booked a smoking room which I can’t accept… but the front desk immediately changed the room and even upgraded to a big bed. We did appreciate that. Room was huge, and hallway was very classic looking […] and clean and quiet. Whenever we met room service clerks on the hallway, they stopped what they were doing and greeted with a big smile. They were very friendly. This hotel is one of my favorite, and I highly recommend everyone! Mehr

This is a lovely, modern hotel, part of the gigantic train station complex that includes two food courts, an underground shopping mall, and one of those department store basement take-out emporiums, as well as the train station and the main city bus depot. So it could not be more convenient. The neighborhood itself is downtown and un-lovely, but since […] transport was so easy I was delighted with the hotel. The sights in Kyoto are spread out anyway, so there is no big advantage to staying somewhere else. Plus they upgraded us to a premium room. The only reason you might not want to pick this hotel is if you have your own car. Mehr

I have stayed at the Granvia Kyoto on two trips. The location is terrific, with JR trains and Kyoto subways virtually at the door. While some rooms are above the tracks, soundproofing is excellent. It is an elegant hotel, everything about it is superior, and the service is always great.

Although the hotel is very easy to find when you get off the train i was very dissapointed with the standard of the room and the noise from the station nearly drove me insane. I am sure there must be better value in Kyoto

This hotel is fine as a place to spend the night, and the location is convenient to busses and trains. But it is an enormous hotel (95 rooms per floor), so don't expect any personal service of any kind. Food at breakfast is not good.

This was a modern hotel in the modern and beautiful train station in Kyoto. The hotel had every amenity and was clean and comfortable. We especially liked the bathroom which contained a separate shower and bath. Our only complaint was that there were few nice restaurants near the train station.

Not a budget hotel, but if you want a a super central location and a place to actually look forward to coming back to in the evening, instead of just a place to crash, this is a good choice. Lots of food options in the station mall downstairs. Staff was uniformly helpful.

Perfect location, modern hotel, nice rooms and views. Great stay for the money and the location made it perfect.

這次住宿最讓我們訝意的是飯店熱水竟然是濁水 放滿浴缸整個水是深棕色 底下還有沙子 臉盆熱水也有同樣情形 跟飯店反應 僅要我們一直放水 說整間飯店都有同樣情形 顯然飯店知道有這情形但不會主動告知客人 真差勁

服務人員親切有禮，通曉英文。房間不算小，除了沒有保險箱，其餘設施一應俱全。北面房間還可看見京都塔！飯店位置在京都車站二樓，地點實在方便，不論去哪個景點都很容易。在此住了三晚，真的值回票價，雖然房價也不便宜。

85歳になる高齢者への対応が実にすばらしく、駅上の利便性を更に豊かなフットワークで、改札口で既にチェックインしたも同然です。二度目の利用でしたが、次も機会があればまた利用したいです。

壁が薄いのか、廊下の音とか、隣の音が気になりました。

ツインのシングル・ユースをリーゾナブルな価格で宿泊させていただき大変満足しております。エレベーターから少し離れていたためか、ホテルの方が部屋までご案内くださり親身にしてていただきました。京都劇場も隣にあり、ホテルそのものの格調が高く、著名な方ともフロントでお会いしました。京都駅の真上に位置するため、駅までのアクセス、地下鉄やバスでの移動、夜の飲食なども便利です。また利用させていただきいたいと思います。

まだ4ヶ月の赤ちゃんと3泊しました。とても広くて清潔な部屋でしたので、赤ちゃんの世話をするのにも助かりました。加湿器を借りましたが、お願いしてすぐに届けて頂けていただき助かりました。

［１］這間飯店跟京都的火車站、地鐵站、公車站、計程車站結合在一起，不管從哪裡來或準備往哪裡去，都十分便利。從飯店往北散步十分鐘，就可以到東本願寺，再轉向西邊十分鐘，即是西本願寺。 ［２］跟飯店建築物合成一塊的還有一家百貨和兩家很大的商店街，裡頭有很多可愛的商店和餐廳，如果不巧遇上惡劣的天氣，也可以在良好的遮蔽範圍內吃喝玩樂。 ［３］飯店房間相當寬敞，樓層比鄰近建築物來得高，因此視野很好，房間裡的設備都不錯。 ［４］唯獨早餐要改進。我在２年內曾經在此住過２次，每次住３晚，早餐是很豐盛而且多元，混合了中、日、美式，絕對是比外面的餐廳來得劃算。但３天下來的菜色一成不變，跟我上一回住宿的印象是相同的。主廚應該每天更換其中一個區域的菜色（十種左右），讓早餐產生令人期待的變化。

超方便的,一定要住這啦!
