"Für Geschäftsreise günstige Lage"
Bewertet von einem Hotels.com-Gast am 22. Feb. 2013Im Prinzip alles in Ordnung. Die erste Nacht war allerdings eine Katastrophe, da im Nebenzimmer ständig lautes Fernsehen lief. Nach meiner Beschwerde gegen vier Uhr morgen stellte sich heraus, dass das Nebenzimmer gar nicht gebucht war und aus mir nicht nachvollziehbaren Gründen trotzdem der Fernseher lief. Ansonsten ist die Hotelanlage gepflegt und sauber, das Frühstück gewöhnt amerikanisch ein schlechter Witz. Etwas ungemütliich fand ich, dass mein Check-In gegen 22 Uhr nur noch durch ein kleines Fenster erledigt wurde, da die Lobby schon geschlossen war. Leider ist das Internet nicht inklusive und für den Preis, für den es angeboten wurde, machte es für mich eher Sinn, mir eine amerikanische SIM-Karte mit mobilen Daten zu kaufen. Die Lage war für mich günstig, da ich geschäftlich in den Norden von San Diego musste. Für touristische Aktivitäten gibt es aber besser gelegene Unterkünfte.

Einziger Vorbehalt: Die Nächte in Februar sind auch in Südkalifornien ziemlich kühl, leider war die Heitzung nicht sehr wirksam und vor Allem hat sehr viel Lärm gemacht. Die Wahl war also entweder frieren oder wegen Lärm schlecht schlafen zu können ...

"Nice Hotel! Good Location!"
My husband and I spent a recent weekend at this hotel and had a very nice stay. The hotel was quiet, clean and comfortable. Our room was a little on the small side, however, it worked fine and we were happy with our stay. Bed was comfortable and we had only one little mishap when the maid forgot to clean our room. They responded to this very quickly […] though and all was well. We stay downtown from time to time and we will definitely keep this hotel in mind for a repeat stay. I was really surprised by how nice and modern this hotel was. It's an old bank which gives it a vintage vibe but the rooms are very well designed. The staff was incredibly helpful as well. What stood out was the excellent service provided by the entire staff. From the curb, to the front desk, to the maids, to the waiter in The Lounge, everyone went out of their way to really make a difference. Very nice hotel. A renovated bank. Beautiful conversion to hotel. Only Valet parking, but there are nearby lots with in-and-out privileges. I had the best experience ever at a hotel! The quality of the rooms, the historic appeal of the "Living History" museum and the service was outstanding. "We had a great room....our friends however didnt"
We stayed in a newly renovated room. It was beautiful, comfortable, and had a great layout. The bedding and bed were very comfortable. My borother and his girlfriend also stayed in the same hotel. Their room hadnt been renovated recently. The sheets were rough, the bed was uncomfortable, it looked like the 1970's threw up in there. In addition to all […] of that, my brothers gf got STUCK in the bathroom because the sliding door got jammed with loose molding around the door frame. This hotel was very nicely decorated with a beautiful lobby and sleek modern rooms. The only isse we had when we first arrived was trying to find the check in counter! Due to some construction occurring in the lobby the check in counter was in the back through a door where the elevators were so it was difficult for us to find. A suggestion would be […] to maybe put a sign up that says "check in this way" with arrows leading the guests to the check in counter. Other than that the hotel was very clean, great service, and located in the middle of all the gaslamp/downtown action, but still quiet in the rooms which was exactly what we were looking for! Hotel staff was superb! Always making sure you were taken care of and happy at all times. Love the new Starbucks now located inside the lobby. The rooms were great and staff very accomadating, however I was very disappointed that when I booked my family - we had 14 people that noone mentioned that the lobby was under construction. The whole reason I booked here for my 50th birthday was location and the beauty of the hotel. We never even got to peak into the lobby. I had booked several months […] in advance and when I came to check on the hotel in person in Dec. the staff said it would probably be done so I kept the hotel reservations. "pics are a lie"

"Above and Beyond!"
The staff of the hotel went above and beyond our expectations DAILY. They were extremely welcoming and helpful, and wanted to make sure we enjoyed our entire stay. "Very comfortable hotel close to gaslamp"
We loved the character of the old bank building and the fact that original features have been retained. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean, and the furniture and fittings of a good standard. We also loved how quiet the room was - we were at the back of the building, which meant no view but VERY quiet. The valet parking is expensive, which […] is worth factoring-in when looking at the overall cost of a stay here. Negotiating the one-way system is tricky at first but once you are familiar with the surrounding streets, this hotel is very easy to access from all directions.
