Das Hotel liegt nicht weit vom Bahnhof entfernt. Allerdings läßt die Beschilderung an allen Bahnhöfen der "Path" sehr zu wünschen übrig. keine Fahrpläne, schwerlich ist die Richtung herauszufinden in die der Zug fährt und ob er auch bei der Rückfahrt über die gewünschte Haltestelle fährt.

Eine Freundin hat uns die Lage in Jersey City gegenüber Manhatten empfohlen.Diese war im Hyatt Regency untergebracht. Da das Hotel zu unserer Zeit ausgebucht war, haben wir uns für das Doubletree by Hilton entschieden und nicht bereut. Erstens ist die Anbindung mit der PATH-Train ab Newport nach Manhatten Worldtrade Center WTC oder 33th Street für 1,75USD […] genial und zweitens sind die Preise der Hotels in Jersey City im Vergleich zu NYC meist niedriger als viele in Manhattan. Nahe dem Hotel befindet sich eine Path-Station mit welcher man direkte Anbindung nach Manhatten hat. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind ebenfalls in der Nähe. Zum Shoppen empfiehlt es sich eher nach New York zu gehen. Die Reise bis ins Zentrum dauert knapp 15min. Das Hotel ist also perfekt gelegen. Eigentlich ein TOP Hotel vielleicht ein bisschen alte Schule. Einrichtung, Sauberkeit, Personal war alles supper.

I'm very happy I picked this hotel to stay at. My friend and I were going to a concert in Manhattan the next day so we booked two nights here. As soon as we opened the door my friend was in shock at how nice it was. It's close to Journal Square where you can take the mini bus to NYC to Port Authority, or take a subway to Manhattan. Very nice location. […] The beds were unbelievably comfortable. Some of the best sleep I have ever got. Drinks and food were expensive though. $10 for a drink. But amazing people working there. Very friendly. If you're looking for a very nice hotel outside the city this is one you will want to check out. It was a bit pricey for me, but was very worth it even though my friend and I were only in the hotel at night and morning. Quality of service was excellent. Hotel staff was friendly and very accommodating. Hotel location was ideal. If you are going to visit New York City with a large family, then this hotel would provide as an excellent starting point. The PATH train which takes you directly into NYC is only 3 blocks away. Hotels.com did not inform us that we could not use our HHonors card. We would have been eligible for Free Continental Breakfast.

Our stay at the Doubletree worked out great for visiting NYC. Very close to the PATH train station to get in and out of NYC. Staff was very friendly and accommodating and the room was nice. The only thing that I would question is the parking fee which was $25 a night. You pay only about $10 more to park in NYC for the day. As a family we had decided to take a 3 day trip to see NYC for the first time. Coming from a small midwestern town of 6,000 people we were very apprehensive about the area where we would be staying as well as the rates. After a lot os searching we decided to stay in Jersey CIty and selected the Duble Tree Hotel. Since we had never been in either Jersey […] City or NYC we were still apprehensive. All of our concerns were aleviated as soon as we walked into the hotel Lobby. The Double Tree Hotel in Jersey City was nothing less than excellent in all of its aspects. The location was perfect. As an example, one night my husband and I took stroll along the Hudson river walway which, was a block away form the hotel and saw NYC at night it was perfect. Riding into NYC was easy, the hotel is within walking distance of the subway, it cost us $2.25 each time we rode in and out of NYC. The room was clean, spacious, comfortable and had the ameneties we were looking for. The staff was very friendly and professional. We parked our car and never drove it until it was time to return home. The food in the restaurant was very good as were the prices. Our experience was very positive and we have decided to return so we can see more of NYC and the surrounding areas. We highly recommend this hotel, specially for families. We all know that hotels in Manhattan can be pricy. So, I decided to give this one a try. It is a great hotel. Very close to the PATH (NJ Transit). It is about $2 each way to and from NYC. You pick up and get off the train in NYC right at 34th - perfect location as it puts you right by Macy's and only a few blocks from Times Square. This hotel is in an fantastic location if you want to be close to the mall and have views of the skyline of New York! It is about 2 blocks away from the PATH station which takes you straight to New York. The rooms are nice and modern and the staff is very helpful. One drawback was that the shuttle doesn't run on the weekends! We had to walk to the PATH […] station, but it wasn't bad the only thing was when we wanted to go to a local restaurant or store. I don't have any problems with this hotel and I've stayed in lots of them. I would recommend this hotel to others because of location and price. It was much cheaper to stay here than in the city, but the ride home on the PATH after a long walk in New York will make you tired! Mehr

The cookie at check in was wonderful. It really hit the spot after traveling!

Hotel staff was extremely friendly! Clean rooms and nice location! Quiet hotel. One thing very limited parking and dont park in the plaza behind hotel cause they will tow your car! So the 20 dollars to park at Double Tree is worth it!

We were in town for only one evening and were pleasantly surprised by our stay. We arrived a little earlier than the check-in time and the room was readu with no problems. Being handed chocolate chip cookies at check-in was nice after a day of travel. It was convenient to have a large grocery store just behind the hotel. Please don't be fooled by the ratings. Hotel is outdated, cheaply furnished "suites". Broken closet door, towel handle falls off, small bathroom, tub with peeling paint, motel type air/heating unit. Not a true suite, just a room with a half wall separating the room. And it just has a sofa with no tv in the main area. Cheap toiletries. Elevator to garage […] broken half the time. Then to top it off,, they put a great deal into giving you a stale, microwaved cookie. If you are looking for more quality and comfort, look elsewhere. Pretty expensive for what you get. Mehr

I had a wonderful 2 night stay at the Doubletree. The staff bends over backwards to ensure you have everything you need. They were extremely friendly and professional. Try to get a room with a view of the lower manhattan skyline. Great. Staff nice and clean rooms. Subway 2 blocks away.

The Double Tree afforded a fantastic weekend getaway! Checking in was quick, even though I was a bit early, and the receptionist was wonderfully cheerful. The hotel itself is spacious and comfortable with a most convenient location: steps from the PATH and about half an hour from the heart of Manhattan. The surrounding area is safe. Finding quick but […] good food was a bit tricky; sometimes you just need a 7 Eleven for a soda. All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. All good but would appreciate a kettle to be able to make tea as only a coffee machine provided. Can't believe this hotel doesn't provide wireless Wi Fi. In future I will only stay in hotels offering this service for free. Double Tree need to move with the times in this regard.

Warm cookies on check in! Staff very nice. Close to PATH station to get into city, shuttle bus will take you to water taxis.

When we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted with very courteous staff. The front desk was very helpful and knowledgable about the area. A short walk across the street brought us to the river front that offered a great view of New York city. Our room was clean and bed bug free. Had a pleasant stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Jersey City. The workers were absolutely amazing, kind, friendly, helpful, couldn't have asked for a better hotel experience. We booked two rooms (each had two double beds) for 8 young ladies and had plenty of room. Short 3 block walk to the PATH and then on to NYC. Very close to Liberty Park - we went to Ellis Island and the Staute from there. Not nearly as crowded as Battery Park. Neighborhood was fine. Walked a few blocks to dinner when we arrived. Clean, great service and wonderful views of Manhattan skyline. After spending hectic days sight-seeing in NYC, it was nice to take the quick ride on the PATH to the Double Tree. At the end of each day we looked forward to the quiet, pretty neighbourhood of Newport in contrast to wading through the tourists in NYC. While spending hours walking around […] NYC, I would relish the thought of relaxing in the comfortable suite, overlooking the NYC skyline. It is close to all amenities, and even a few touristy sights like Carlo's Bakery. The King bed suite with NYC view was perfect for our party of 3 adults and 1 toddler. Clean and good location ( near to the path)

Although this was an overnite stay: it was very nice to come to a very clean room and a very comfortable bed after a tiring day. The warm cookie was an added plus and the receptionist was very courteous. The only slight draw back was that the parking garage was not clearly marked and a little confusing to get to because the booth is not at ground level […] and instead on the next level up. Nice hotel very close to metro path...but some bed bugs in the sofa bed.

We requested a non-smoking room but reception stated they were full and un-able to accommodate and did not really try.Lines at check-in were interminable and no concierge service like at other hotels of this price range.Shuttle service limited to 1 mile radius from hotel which is very limited.No air-port pick-up which is a costly $50 ride from Newark […] airport.No complimentary breakfast nor Hi-speed internet connection in room and limited fitness room with no pool Mehr

We were very impressed with this hotel and decided that when we come back to NYC, we'll consider staying here. Have to say the woman who checked us in was less than friendly, and did not make a good first impression of the hotel, but that was the only negative thing about our stay. We've had a good time at the Doubletree hotel. The room was very clean. The service excellent.. If you want to go to New York city, you don't need your car because you can go by train. The hotel is near from the path train (about 5 minutes by walk).

This hotel was very afforable and ideal for those who want to visit NYC, but don't want to pay the outrageous hotel room rates in Manhattan. The easy access from the hotel to the city via the PATH train was perfect.
