We love staying at Larkspur Hotels. They are comfortable, clean, friendly and definitely a step above most moderate priced hotel chains. Very nice touches with complimentary snacks in the room as well as a kitchen in each room. The beds are super comfy. Extremely well maintained facility that was very welcoming, i felt like I was sleeping over at a friends home. the hotel even smelled like a country cottage. The morning breakfast and constant supply of coffee throughout the day was great. I checked out at 3:00 am and the night manager was very pleasant and had fresh brewed coffee!!! We had a great two night stay at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a great Moraccan meal at Casablanca very close to hotel. I would stay there again.

Great stay with family of 4 and a dog. Well worth the few extra dollars.

A touch off the beaten path but less than five minutes from downtown. Our room was quite spacious and very clean. The staff was ever pleasant and efficient... not to mention the homemade cookies everyday. There is NOTHING in the vicinity that will cause one to lose sleep due to noise and there are two eateries in the hotel parking lot. We WILL be back […] and one WON'T go wrong by staying here. Mehr

The only problem that I had with this hotel was the noise level. Be sure to ask for a room on the quite side of the building. Other than that, I was pleased. Good continental breakfast and the service was great.

Very surprised at the ammenities of the room! Complete cooking? Dishes, wine glasses, VERY awesome place. We WILL be back!!

We really had a comfortable stay. Staff was exceptionally friendly. Breakfast was good, included waffles, but I would toast them because they weren't hot off the griddle. Bedroom had a ring around the toilet water line, which disturbed me a little, but overall the room seemed very clean. I didn't bring out the black light of course haha. This was our first stay at Larkspur Landing-Sacramento. We enjoyed it very much. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was great and comfortable. It is very convenient to the freeway. The breakfast was everything and more. We will stay again. Thank you.

It felt like home.

I recently spent three nights at the Larkspur Landing on Howe Ave. in Sacramento and can recommend it as a very comfortable, conveniently located hotel. The breakfast was great and it was nice to have a bowl of apples available at the front desk.

Our hotel stay exceeded all of our expectations! For the price, we expected 'average' conditions, amenities, etc.; however, we were pleasantly surprised! Great location, very clean room and hotel surroundings, very accomodating and friendly staff, a welcome basket with goodies, refrigerator and microwave and so much more! My experience with the staff was not good. I called before I got to the hotel and found an unfriedly staff who was not willing to work withme because I had booked through Hotels.com she told me to call them. Check in staff was friendly. I came here for a mini vacation just to get away from the family and have some down time. I didn't realize this was a studio hotel, (fridge, stove top, microwave, pots, utensils, coffee maker, dishwasher) so this was a pleasant surprise. The bathroom was larger than most hotels I have stayed in, and the bed was just ahhhhhh! So comfy!! There was even […] a desk, so I got some paperwork done. There is a tiny gym (3 machines and a weight bench) with a hot tub outside of it (surrounded by the parking lot). My only disappointment with the hotel was breakfast! It was really lame! Pre-made waffles, bagels, muffins, toast - just a lot of bread, not so great coffee, some bananas and apples, hard boiled eggs, and yogurt. I guess for the reputation they have, I anticipated something more on the level of scrambled eggs, sausage, make your own waffles, fruit salad, etc. I'm guessing they think you will make your own in the room. The woman at the front desk was very nice, they seemed genuinely pleased to see you, and even put a caller on hold to deal with me. There is a Mel's Diner literally a few feet away, and some other restaurant in walking distance as well. But if you want to be within walking distance to Downtown or Old Sacramento, this wont work. This hotel was more like being at home.Very nice .I would stay here over and over again.The room was excellent very comfy , the staff was very friendly and helpfull.This hotel has everything you need and more .My husband does not like staying at hotels and he even said this hotel get 5 stars from me .Wish this hotel was in souther california.Will visit […] again for sure. I was impressed with the nice lobby with the fireplace on. Cozy. They were handing out fresh baked cookies when we arrived. Our king suite was nice. The bedroom was a little cramped. Not much room on the sides of the bed. Quiet at night. Nice tv's. Couldn't get the coffeemaker to work in the morn. Missed the comp breakfast but it was all cold food except […] for the waffle iron. Shower pressure was low but good. It was nice to have Mel's Diner in the parking lot. Walked over there after checkout for a real breakfast. Mehr

A great place to accommodate travelers with pets and children :)

This hotel had most of the amenities of a high end hotel plus more. Free WiFi, parking, room snacks and water bottles makes this hotel's service a bonus. The neighborhood was good, the hotel was quiet, and attractive, and all the expected services were there. I was very pleased and happy we chose this hotel.

I booked the Larkspur Landing on my Hotels.com app via my iPad while we were driving from Los Angeles to Sacramento. For the price, we were pleasantly surprised. The room had a small kitchen & a welcome basket with snacks. The lobby had coffee & tea available which i think every hotel sould do & a very nice continential breakfast. with bagels, yogurt […] & fruit. I picked up dinner across the street at Fresh Choice - i try to eat very healthy and this was a great option for me. It's nothing fancy, but for one night on the road it was perfect. Plus no parking fees! That really addes up on a road trip. Mehr

This is not a 5 star fancy hotel. For the price, it is hard to beat. It is very clean, with some very nice "everyday" amenities like a full-size refrigerator and a microwave. The continental breaskfast had a nice variety and was plentiful. The staff was very gracious.

Upon arrival the staff was very nice and accommodating. The room was very nice, the bathroom was great, flat screen tv, great working place for my laptop, also had a kitchen, and to top it off they had a welcome basket in the room. Felt like I was at home =)

Loved it. Spent 2 days. Amenities of fridge and stove saved me $$$. Still there is a small shopping center 5 minutes away with many restaurants. I used and like the Greek Village restaurant.

The Larkspur Landing in Sacramento was a great experience. All hotel employees were extremely friendly and helpful. Nice continental breakfast, free parking and free wi fi. The rooms was clean and very comfortable. Will stay here again.

It's very nice to have a kitchen available. The complimentary breakfast was great. The front desk service was EXCELLENT (thank you Ryan). The fitness room was small and inadequate. Overall, I would definitely stay again.

This was my second time staying at this particular Larkspur. The room was very nice and spacious, the staff was much friendlier than my first stay (dramatic improvement A+). The lobby area had vending machines, and a snack/refrigerated drink area with plenty of options. Nothing was over-priced from these selections. Internet was complimentary and decently […] fast. We were within walking distance from 2 restaurants, and driving anywhere didn't take much time at all from the hotel. The only true problem we had was a result of other guests. On our second night in the room, the people above us in room 342 were stomping around, opening sliding closet doors, turning on the shower, and using the bathroom for hours and hours, starting around 7PM on a Friday. Around 9PM I made my first call to the front desk complaining about it. It stopped for all of 5 minutes after that, and then if anything got worse. Throughout the next 5 hours I continued to call and got increasingly irritated each time I had to make a call and minimal effort was made to take care of this problem. I was initially told by the front desk that the hotel was completely booked for the night, and that the family above me was also staying for several days. Security was sent up to give warnings multiple times. Finally at 2 AM I told the front desk they needed to do something now or I was going to go up there myself and resolve the situation. At that point they "managed" to find us a room on the top floor. We were exhausted and this was not ideal to have to pack up all our belongings and settle into a new room, but we decided to take it. We were offered to have security help us move our belongings, and they brought us a little cart to make it easier. I completely appreciate the hotel's staff doing what they could to make things easier on us, however I strongly believe the people in 342 should have been kicked out of the hotel. This to me seemed to be out of pure greed that the Larkspur was unwilling to kick the Mehr

The price was right and the accomodations were excellent. Immaculate room, friendly staff, peaceful atmosphere. Breakfast was a little lacking, but sufficient. Taste was good, selection was only fair. I'd stay here again.

The hotel itself is actually set back from a main street, which made it very quiet. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The room is small, but well-planned: just inside the door on the left was a roomy closet, but on the right was an efficiency kitchen with two electric burners, microwave, full-size refrig and welcome basket with […] snacks. The L-shaped desk was big enough for 2 to work, and the large-screen tv could actually be seen from the bathtub. The hotel is large enough to offer amenities but small enough to feel like a bed and breakfast - definitely staying here instead of with the kids the next time I visit. (And the grandkids liked the room enough to ask if they could stay too - and teenagers are a tough audience.) Mehr

I was very pleasantly surprised. The room was very nice and quiet. The staff were friendly and efficient. The breakfast was totally unexpected; cereal, pastries, waffles, youghert, fruit and really good coffee. I would highly recommend this hotel

Our very brief stay was a real pleasure. Everyone was so incredibly helpful. I thought some of the other reviews were perhaps a bit "over the top" but they may have understated how great it is. We will definitely be back and let our friends know about this gem.

We were staying in Sacramento for a week on business, we chose this hotel for 2 reasons, the fitness room and the pet policy. This was one of the most pet friendly hotels ever, the staff was always smiling and friendly, even the maid service staff was friendly and even gave me some old towels so I could bath my dogs. We were minutes away from many restaurants […] and close to FWY access. I would definitely stay at any Larkspur hotel again. Mehr

IF you do not care about having a fully functional kitchenette, I believe you can find a hotel in the area for $20-$50 less per night that has the same amenities. BUT if you love having a full kitchen like I do, then this is a great option. The quality of the hotel & breakfast was very similar to a Holiday Inn Express, but the price was a bit higher […] - and again - I think it is the Kitchen that makes the difference. So if you don't care about the kitchen, you could a) Just go to Holiday Inn Express and save a bit of money. b) Stay in a nicer hotel for the same money. All in all I have no complaints and I ESPECIALLY appreciated the beauty of the lobby and common areas, as well as the kind and outgoing hospitality staff. The room was laid out VERY well and I have zero complaints. I loved the L-shaped work center and COMFY bed. And the Kitchenette!! Mehr

I was looking for a hotel for a one-night "staycation" in Sacramento. I had never heard of Larkspur Landing before but it got great reviews and the price was reasonable, so I thought I'd try it out. I was pleasantly surprised by all the amenities, the friendliness of the staff and the warmth of the decor. My main goal was to rest and get a good night's […] sleep. (I have 2 small children so I don't normally get that.) The room was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The air conditioner was loud - that is my only complaint. Unfortunately, it was the dead of summer so I had to have it on all night. Otherwise, I would have opened the window instead. I definitely recommend this hotel if you are a business traveler or have a family. It's a hidden gem! Mehr
