"Excellent Choice"
I recently had to stay over in Flint for business, and found the Wingate to be a pleasant surprise. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, the hotel was clean, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and even the breakfast in the morning was nice...not your typical "microwaved" spread that some of these hotel pass off as breakfast. The location is […] not to far from the airport, very close to the highways, and away from the "mess" that Flint is famous for...in other words, it's clean, convenient, safe and secure. My family & I had a wonderful experience with this hotel. Everything was clean & everyone was pleasant. The food from the breakfast bar was fresh & hot.

We have visited/stayed at this location before and I was reading the previous reviews and was curious about all of the "small" pillow(s) comments...for we ALWAYS travel with our own pillows and rarely use others - so the very 1st thing upon checking in was running to the room to see the pillows...lol you're correct, they are/were very small. But our […] stay was AMAZING the staff went out of their way to help us with movie times and restaurant locations/directions...We LOVE the Managers afternoon buffet - it's a nice touch and very much (trust me) appreciated by all...and super tasty as well!!!! "Attentive staff, comfortable hotel"
We stayed 2 nights, the second being New Years Eve. The second night was busy but staff kept up well with customer needs. Our reservation said "no breakfast" but actually there was a great hot and cold breakfast buffet and even with the New Years crowd the staff kept breakfast items topped up well. We had a problem with a noisy heater which was fixed […] as soon as we reported it. Our room was clean and comfortable with nice bathroom supplies. We will return. Mehr

"Convenient, helpful and hospitable"
I write this review because I count on reviews when I travel. This hotel gives you what you need. The rates are comparable and affordable for a family. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. The breakfast was so diverse that even my children could not make up their mind! If you have children, the pool is warm so when you have to be in the water […] with them, you do not freeze. The hot tub was a little too warm, not complaining, but it could stand to be a little cooler. The dryer was broken in the laundry room while we were there, however to compensate for it, housekeeping dried and folded my laundry and then delivered it to my room! Once again..above and beyond! This is my families choice to stay when we come back home to visit our families. When we come into town I always check for availability here first before anywhere else. Enjoy your stay! Mehr

Easy check-in. Friendly staff. Feels like a higher rated hotel than it is. Wife loved the breakfast buffet. Only complaint was that there are no curtains to darken the room at night for sleeping. But that may be a moot point for some. Even with a Saturday night stay, the hotel was quiet. Wish we weren't so exhausted from our drive. Would have been nice […] to use the pool and hot tub. A bit of a drive to Birch Run and Frankenmuth, but I don't think you'll find better amenities at this price. Mehr

My wife and I were in the area for a fundraiser and chose this hotel based on reviews on hotels.com. The area itself is nothing spectacular and the hotel fits the area. While not fancy by any means, it was clean and well kept, the staff was very friendly and the room was fine for our needs. Our only real complaint was the size of the pillows. Good place to stay if you're in the Flint area. 10 minutes from downtown. Quiet, pretty comfortable room. If I were in the area again, I would stay here again.

"Wingate Hotel - Flint, MI area"
We have traveled quite extensively over the years and this was our first experience with Wingate. Outside, inside, staff...all excellent. Room and bed was great, however, there is still the often enough problem - room air conditioner! This would be a five star easily if it were not for that noisy unit. Unless that can be remedied, we will not stay there […] again, sorry to say, for all the other "good". Mehr

The staff was very friendly and accomodating. Every bit enjoyable as a 1 night stay could be. If you are ever in the area, this is the hotel I would recommend.

Our stay was wonderful. The breakfast was exceptional.... french toast, fruit, yogurt, etc. My mother had been hoping for biscuits and gravy at each place we stayed. You place was the only one who offered it. The lobby was spacious, up-to-date, attractive, and inviting. (the couch could use a little cleaning). My choice to stay at this hotel was mainly because of the location. The staff was sooooooo thoughtful. I talked with someone prior to my stay and expressed my concern about having a clothes changing place upon my arrival. My appointment was earlier than check-in...the staff made arrangements for me. "Wingate Grand Blanc-BAD MANAGEMENT"
I was sold a king room. When I got there, they told me the king wasn't clean, didn't offer to clean it, and told me that I could have a two queen room. When I got to the room, it was not a queen room, the beds were either doubles or full. Too tired to deal with it. The next morning, the breakfast buffet was empty (except for some scummed over gravy) […] 15 minutes before it was over and the staff was nowhere to be found. No offer to get more food. I can sum this hotel up in two words: BAD MANAGEMENT. Get a real manager who will whip this place into shape. Otherwise, I wouldn't offer it on your website. Mehr

Conveniently located, great service, spacious and comfortable rooms. If I were to travel back to Grand Blanc that is definetely where I would spend the night. Highly recommend this hotel to others.

This was an excellent hotel with courteous staff, great room and a good breakfast buffet. There were two issues with my room. It was located overlooking for the roof of the hotel and there happened to be a floodlight close to my window. It ended up illuminating my room even after I turned out all of the inside lights. I tried to close the blackout […] drapes but found that they were only decorative and only about 6 inches wide. It was too late in the night for me to bother asking for another room and I was only staying one night. It's really a nice hotel but they just happened to miss this detail. i would have no hesitation booking there again. Mehr

We found the hotel clean and the individuals working there to be very helpful and courteous. We enjoyed our stay and would recommed this hotel. The area was quite with a couple restaurants within walking distance. We would stay there again.

"Always a nice stay"
I've stayed many times and the staf is very pleasant and helpful. The atmosphere is vey relaxed. This particular visit the temperature in the hotel was REALLY WARM. I noticed a thermostat in the hallway set at 79 degrees.

Not the place to stay for an early flight. Continental breakfast not out early enough. Parking fees to leave car. Fold out couch was broken.

"Clean, safe and quiet!"
Everything was close to perfect with my family and I there (family of 4). So let me explain bits and pieces; 1) Room was very comfortable and clean; 2) Very queit stay for a busy weekend; 3) Most of the staff was helpful and informable; 4) Breakfast was good, but the bread, bagels and muffins and fruits were old; 5) Nice to have ice and pop machines […] on each floor; 6) Pool was clean, and very appropriate for the family; 7) Hot tub/Whirlpool was out of order the whole weekend; 8) Appetizers in the evening was unpleasant; 9) Not much to do around the area, but it was close enough the the places we needed to attend to. 10) Not many channels to watch. The hotel is great with nice surroundings, but there was only one restaurant you could reach without a car.
