Sehr schönes traditionell englisches Hotel. Saubere Zimmer, guter Service, ziemlich zentral. Die Zimmer sind etwas klein, aber das ist in der Preiskategorie in London auch nicht anders zu erwarten. :) Kann ich wirklich empfehlen.

Gerade für Alleinreisende vollauf empfehlenswertes Hotel mit jeder Menge englischer Atmosphäre. Grösste Pluspunkte waren die super bequemen Betten und das komfortabele und geräumige Badezimmer. Würde das Hotel immer wieder buchen.

Wir hatten ein Superior Doppelzimmer gebucht. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und ganz neu renoviert mit tollen Stoffen für Vorhänge und Kissen. Das Zimmer war aber sehr klein und beengt, so dass man sich zu zweit kaum bewegen konnte. Zimmerservice ok. Rezeption mittelmäßig, Concierge sehr nett aber nicht sehr kompetent.

Das Hotelzimmer entsprach in keinster Weise dem Standard eines 4 Sterne Hotels. Es war viel zu klein. Das Bett war zu kurz und zu schmal. Wir hatten den Eindruck, dass es sich um ein Einzelzimmer handelte. Es gab keinen Platz für Gepäck (Reisetasche, Koffer). Das Bad war ebenfalls winzig. Das Hotel liegt in einer gepflegten Umgebung, zentral und doch ruhig. In wenigen Schritten ist man bei der U-Bahn-Station Gloucester Road, kann gemütlich etwas essen oder einkaufen. Alles, was man benötigt, liegt in nächster Nähe. Sogar der Sightseeing Bus "Big Bus" hält in der Nähe. Und zu Fuss in den Hyde Park ist ein Katzensprung. The room was very cold. Had to put on the blanket during evening.TV showed only red and green colors. Tea cups were dirty. Since the hotel was really expensive and elegant I find that it doesnt really match the expectations.

Very nice comfortable hotel. Great beds, good heating and lighting . I had a great few nights sleep. 10 minute to Harrods or less than 5 mins to nearest tube station. My one complaint would be the Unavailability of espresso coffee . Breakfast was poor. I suggest hotels like this forget about the cereals and yoghurts and canned juice . The hotel itself was a bit run down/shabby but the rooms were a pleasant suprise. The room felt more like a 4 star rather than the hotel itself which felt like a 3 star. Only problem with the room was that the coffee cups hadnt been cleaned as someones lipstick was all over it! But credit to the staff as they were very prompt to sort this out.

The hotel was in a prime location with an easy walk from the Picadilly Line tube. The area was very safe and we always felt fine walking around late at night. The rooms were a bit small and the beds were not the most comfortable, but the decor was beautiful and the overall experience was great.

We loved the location -- good access to the subway, museums, restaurants, nice neighborhood, tourist info right nearby. We stayed there 2 different times on our 2 week trip. The rooms were very clean but one room was too small or 2 persons -- not enough room for luggage. The front desk and management were very accommodateing and courteous and moved […] us to another room the next day. It is difficult to rate this hotel overall because the room was recently remodeled whereas the halls and public areas were showing wear and somewhat shabby. Rooms need luggage racks and bathrooms need towel racks and some kind of storage. Concierge was very helpful. The continental breakfast was so expensive I ate elsewhere. Great location!

Staff were very helpful and polite. Our room was on the lower ground floor but we were told it was very spacious and had ac. No problem with either.The window looked out to a small below pavement level area that was full of black bags and builders materials. No real problem, I didn't expect a room with a view and a man came and took most of it away […] the next morning. The room itself was very nice, well fitted out and exteremely comfortable and clean. Unfortunately the dividing wall between it and the next room was one which obviously folded back and had no real substance to it. This meant that the man next doors conversation with his airline might just as well been from the phone in our room. It was fortunate that it wasn't a honeymoon couple next door.However, I would use the hotel again, as long as it wasn't that room. The position was excellent and I had the feeling that staff were particularly professional and would be a real help if needed. Being only there for one night we did not make use of the resteraunt or sitting room but both looked very nice. Just go back to using the basement room for what it was designed for, a meeting room. My wife and I selected a room with two twin beds rather than being cramped in a double. This elegant and historical hotel was truly enjoyable for us. We did not eat in the restaurant but the hotel is close to restaurants on Cromwell road. The staff were very helpful. When returning to London, I will surely try to book a room here.

Nice smaller hotel in great upper scale area. A five minute walk to the Tube station. Five minute walk to the Natural History Museum and others. A good number of eateries and shops nearby. I would come back again.

We were generally really happy with our stay. Declined expensive breakfast/meals, but dined locally (500m?) in lovely restaurants. About 500m from tube station so was easy to regularly come back to hotel. Only real complaint was that it appeared to need a little better upkeep (some scuffed walls, bathroom toilet roll holder hanging off, screws in bathroom […] needing plastic covers, etc.) but generally felt clean. This hotel is just minutes away from the Gloucester Road tube stop on the Picadilly, District and Circle Lines, which is ideal. The room we had was small by American standards, but average by European standards. It would have benefited from a few more outlets to charge cell phones, cameras, etc. Our toilet never really flushed properly, but the water […] pressure in the shower was heavenly. The biggest complain relates to the beds: they were soft and sagging and left me with a back ache throughout my trip. The Grange Strathmore through Expeadia, took our reservation 2 weeks before New Years Eve 2011 for 2 nights the 31st December and 1st January. When we arrived for check-in they had over booked due to a new staff member not checking the availability, interestingly she took a call whilst we were checking in and told someone that they had 2 single rooms […] and had to admonished for not checking first, I had reserved 2 queen rooms and we ended up with a family room for the first night and kept this room for the second night as well as the queen room. They gave us a bottle of wine and full cooked english breakfast each morning for our inconvenience. The building is lovely, a little tired in the public areas, but the rooms were very nicely furnished, and after 2 weeks travelling through Europe we really appreciated the comfortable beds and fluffy pillows. The staff were very polite and helpful, especially the concierge. The building used to be the late Queen Mother's Father's residence and is a very well placed for the museums, Harrods and Kensington Palace. We highly recommend this Hotel. Mehr

This place was fantastic! Staff was wonderful & even held our bags for us for 2 days after we checked out & went to Paris. The rooms are small, but we didn't mind because it felt very authentic for old world London. The view out of the room was spectacular. Location was perfect, can't recommend this hotel enough. We loved it!!

Loved the location- very close to the tube. However, we were in a basement room- which I now find after reading other reviews, is one of their smallest. There was definately not enough space for luggage for 2 people. The hotel did not have wireless internet but the staff was very helpful in helping me connect through a landline connection. -note: they […] are in the process of installing wireless internet- When checking in we would highly recommend requesting a room with more floor space if you are traveling with more than a carry on. Close to Gloucester Road tube station. The staffs are very helpful. The room is a bit too small but on our 2nd stay, we asked to have a bigger room. They finally gave us a bigger room but it was on the lower ground floor and it was a bunk bed!

We stayed at the hotel for 3 days. The area is really great, close to metro, with beautiful parks very close by, museums, tons of restaurants and cafes. The room was ok, definitely livable for 3 days, very clean with a comfortable bed. The staff was super friendly and very helpful at all times.

There were problems with our room the first night, but luckily staff was able to move us the next day. If we couldn't be moved out of the airless basement room, we would have looked for other accommodations. A convient location, however the size of the room was poor and completely unsuitable for more than a one night stay. The bathroom was freezing, especially at this time of year and was in need of updating. The location is in a nice area of South Kensington/Chelsea. It is right by the Natural History museam and the Victoria and Albert Museam. It is also close to the tube, which we took everywhere. What to say? The hotel staff were in general cordial & helpful. However the room was 1) small 2) no air conditioning and it was hot 3) TV wasn't working properly & 4) internet didn't work at all. The hotel is not a 4 star hotel but a reasonable 3 star in need of refubishing. Some electric outlets not working and the carpet in various locations was thread bare. Toilet didn't always want to flush. Best not to use it. Close to the tube, supermarket and resturants. Good value if you can get it at a low 3 star rate.

Details: The Grange Strathmore itself is charming, cozy, and the neighborhood's great. Though it was right off a bustling road and a couple blocks from a tube station, the street is surprisingly quiet and pleasant. The location couldn't have been more convenient or safe, and it's only a semi-short walk from gorgeous Kensington Gardens. The Gloucester Road Underground station is close, and you can get anywhere from there. There are also a couple great little spots to grab a quick fry-up breakfast or coffee right there. The hotel also has a 24-hour lounge/bar area only for the guests, and it's also very charming. We had a nightcap in there a couple times, which was really nice to have. The rooms... well, the room we had was a first floor room (meaning the floor above ground level) and it was fairly tiny (but very clean, warm, and welcoming). We had to move around a couple pcs. of furniture so we could walk and set up our suitcase. We kinda tripped over one another a bit at first, but we got used to it, and it became less annoying and more funny. The bathroom was also comically small, but it too was very clean and updated, so we didn't care. Both the bathroom and bedroom had everything we needed, and by day two, we didn't mind the size of it. A very pleasant hotel with excelent service and and the room was clean and neat. Two things I thought was negative, the floor in the bathroom was freazing and the walls are not so isolating. I heard my neighbours TV as it was in my room. I called reception and they called him and everything got solved.

Buona posizione a pochi passi dalla metro, camera molto piccola ma pulita e ben riscaldata. Pultroppo nel complesso il mio giudizio è negativo per due motivi: 1. abbiamo lasciato la camera il 31 mattina e, avendo l'aereo al mattino alle 6,00 abbiamo chiesto se fosse possibile lasciare la valigia fino alle 3 circa del mattino (oltrettutto era anche la […] notte di capodanno), ci hanno risposto di no. E questo per noi è stato un grave disagio. 2. La mattina del 31 siamo stati svegliati alle ore 9,00 dalla donna delle pulizie che in modo molto sgarbato ha iniziato ha bussate violentemente alla porta e ci ha intimato di lasciare la camera perchè doveva pulire. Dopo circa mezzora è venuto un altro ragazzo chiedendoci di uscire. dopo un quarto d'ora altra due ragazze ci hanno bussato chiedendoci di uscire. Hotel in ottima posizione ben ristritturato con ottimo gusto, pulito ed accogliente.....ma la camera che ci hanno assegnato era veramente piccolissima, non c'era spazio per i bagagli vuoti, la porta non si apriva del tutto, il bagno per gnomi, e a complicare la mancanza di spazio delle bellissime tende triplamente imbottite che non ti permettevano nemmeno […] di salire sul letto.
