Ich war, zugegeben, am Anfang sehr skeptisch was dieses Hotel anging. Es ist wahrlich kein Hilton oder ähnliches. Aber es ist völlig ausreichend. Die Zimmer sein klein. Aber man hat alles was man braucht. Kaffeemaschine, Bett, Kühlschrank, Mikro. Reicht vollkommen. Man soll ja nicht drin leben nur schlafen...! Das kleine Frühstück spitze! Die Bagels/das […] Brot frisch, Kaffee gabs jeder Zeit und eine kleine Auswahl an Kuchen. Falls einem das nicht reicht, ist die Straße runter ein kleines Cafe. Vielleicht 2 Minuten zu Fuss. Das Hotel liegt ein wenig Abseits der großen Sehenswürdigkeiten. Mit dem Auto vielleicht 15 Minuten. Aber in LA sind das keine wirklichen Entfernungen. Man darf nie vergessen das man sich nicht in Deutschland sonder in einer amerikanischen Großstadt befindet! Es ist nun mal alles anders! Das Personal war jeder Zeit sehr freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit als es darum ging meinen verloren gegangenen Koffer zu finden, der sich nur ein Hotel weiterbefand, da der Flughafen Service ihn falsch ablieferte! Ohne die nette Dame am desk würde ich ihn wahrscheinlich immernoch suchen! Das Parken ist wahrlich aufregend! Unter dem Hotel befindet sich ein kleines "Parkhaus" mit vielleicht 12(?) Parkplätzen. Sehr eng und die Ein/Ausfahrt ist mit großen Autos ein wenig anstrengend. Aber wir hatte einen Chevi Pickup. Mit einem normalen Wagen kann man ohne Problem ein und ausparken. Dafür ist der Parkplatz aber umsonst! Im Großen und Ganzen waren wir wirklich sehr zufrieden und wer nicht allzu große Ansprüche stellt, wir in dem Hotel zufrieden sein. Mehr

wer gutes frühstück, aufmerksamen service und tolles ambiente sucht, ist hier falsch. wer eine zentrale super lage sucht und seine zeit in der stadt verbringt und nicht im hotel, ist hier bestens aufgehoben. frühstücken kann man auch woanders.

Die Zimmer sind sehr klein und das Hotel hat seine besten Tage definitiv hinter sich. Wir waren zwei Nächte im Hotel. Man darf keine hohe Ansprüche haben. Es hat leider nur wenige Parkplätze in der Garage. Am Abend hatten wir keinen Parkplatz mehr im Hotel und mussten einen Parkplatz in der Umgebung suchen, was nicht sehr angenehm war.

Das Zimmer war eher klein jedoch genügend, verweilt man doch hoffentlich in einer City wie Los Angeles nur wenig im Zimmer. Die Lage war tip top. In der Nähe hat es ein Subway und eine Bäckerei. Ebenfalls in kurzer Distanz zu erlaufen ist der Farmer Market, eine charmante Einkaufsstrasse mit diversen eher etwas gehoberen aber dafür umso gemütlicheren […] Restaurants. Zum Walk of Fame und zum Disneyland sind es 5 resp. 10 Autominuten. Direkt vor dem Hotel hat es eine Busstation, welche wir jedoch nicht genutzt haben. Frühstück ist inbegriffen (Toast, Bagel, Cinamon-Rolls, Flakes, Kaffee, O-Saft, Milch). Mehr

The place was perfectly and conveniently located to most of the specialty shops and restaurants that I planned to visit during this trip. The main draw back of this hotel is the parking. The cave like entry to the garage below the hotel is hard to get into and out of. The parking on the back of the hotel is limited and very small. The room is very small […] and cramped. If you are looking for a place to just sleep and spend more time shopping and sight seeing than this would be an ideal place for you. Just make sure you get very small compact rental car. Mehr

If you are looking for a bed and a bathroom then this is your hotel. The hotel is very conveniently located to everything. I walked to the Farmers Market and the Groove daily and taxi fair was less then $20.00 to get to any one location from the hotel. However, the hotel itself sucks. The hotel room is nothing more then you need. There is exactly enough […] space for you to sleep, get dressed, take showers and use the bathroom. There is nothing more and nothing less. The "continental breakfast" consist of muffins, bagels, bread that you can toast, orange juice, apple juice, milk two types of cereal and coffee. The posted breakfast hours are 7am to 11am but in reality breakfast is taken away at nine. If all you want is location this hotel is great. If you want a hotel though, this hotel is horrible. Mehr

Convenient location, very small room for what we paid.

The Hotel has a great location, and the room was clean and well decorated, but forget about a closet, there are hooks on the wall with hangers, you have about 18" to walk around the bed, the bathroom was nice but the curved shower rod´s screws were starting to slip, so the shower curtain wouldn't stay in its place, it would move towards the middle and […] water would splash everywhere. When I asked for an extra towel for my husband I was told I could go get it at the reception.... What??? Again, good location, but don't expect too much. Mehr

The price was a bit high for how small the room was, but the location was pretty good for what me and my girlfriend wanted to do, it was a short distance from the club we went to. The front desk lady was kinda rude but the man that was there in the morning was very nice and actually talked to us like we were people. I dont know if i would ever stay […] there again. Mehr

It wasn't the biggest or nicest room but the staff was friendly and helpful. The room felt a bit dirty but was fine. The shower and toilet were in a seperate room, the sink was in the main area with the bed. A couple feet on either side of the bed to walk, nice window. Free breakfast was cereal, wrapped pastries, coffee, juice, good enough. We figured […] out we saved $100 a night or more staying here than when we stayed downtown, paid more for the room and paid for parking. This was right next to CBS so we could go to the Price is Right taping (you can see the studio from the window). Good restaurants and shopping at the Grove. Some things walking distance but glad we had car and free parking, half hour to Universal or downtown. The garage under the hotel is small (the reviews said tiny but I've seen worse in downtown Boston or NYC) but it gets the job done. There are bus stops nearby (but we didn't try them) and a natural foods grocery store across the street. We would stay there again but you get what you pay for, it's more about saving money and having a close proximity to the Grove than being a fancy, upscale hotel with lots of space. Mehr

Rooms were really small, bed was hard as a rock. Holes in the bathroom walls where they had moved the shower rod. Holes in the ceiling which were plugged with facial tissue. More facial tissue around a fire sprinkler, again plugging a hole. The people upstairs sound as though they were going to fall through. The parking situation is ridiculous...steep underground parking that scraped the bottom of my car, tight parking lot in back of hotel. Thin walls, was able to hear my neighbors all nite

A very good location that made it easy to get to the places that I wanted to go, especially Hollywood and surrounding areas. Free parking and free continental breakfast (very good selection) were tops in my book. Staff were very friendly and very helpful and the rooms were in very good repair and clean. Neighborhood was nice all around and never felt […] unsafe even walking at night. Very close to Farmers Market at 3rd and Fairfax which was out of this world for selection of places to eat and shop and was very close to upscale shopping at the Grove. Right across the street from CBS Studios making it perfect to get in line early for The Price is Right (VERY long wait though). I would definitely stay at this location again if going to the same are of LA and would definitely recommend giving it a try. Farmers Market is a must see. Mehr

Room smelled, carpet torn up, shower mildewy. Do not stay here!

Very well located for the price. Nice neighborhood for walking. Two blocks from the Grove/Farmers Market. Do try to eat at Du-par's, in the market, which is open 24 hours and has fabulous pancakes. Huge flea market on Sundays at high school at Fairfax and Melrose. We stayed in two different rooms at the hotel. First one with double bed was quite small. […] Second with king size bed was more comfortable. Parking garage is tiny with steep driveway. Use caution when entering or exiting. For the money, this is a decent place. Rooms are small. Beds are hard. I thought someone was knocking on my door but it was the guest upstairs walking around. It's a good location. The Farmers Market is just down the street. There is also a funky coffee shop just west, (Swingers) that has good coffee and cupcakes. I'd stay there again if I were only […] staying a night or two. You can tell the place is old. Didn't have a problem with parking, but could be not to many staying at the hotel in January. Room was clean but small like some have said. Couldnt figure out why the TV would work, and found the cable not connected to the Cable box. All fine after that. Stayed there for easy access to CBS Studios. right across the street. […] Line to get in to the shows around the corner on Fairfax. Great Bagel Place and nice places to eat. Walking distance to The Grove and Farmers Market. TONS to eat there. Would stay there again. Mehr

Great for going to the price is right. It is a 5 min walk from the line. Otherwise, it is pretty shabby, but it does have free parking and a breakfast.

Smallest room i have every stayed in. Comfortable. Wooden floors creeked. Sorry for the people below me. Not be if you just need to sleep and be on your way. Price is reasonable for the number of stars.

I wish I would not have stayed there. The carpet in room 103 had noticeable stains on it. Parking is another story- how anything more than a Smart Car can get out of the parking ramp without scratching the paint.

hotel parking is a challenge

This hotel has a comfortable bed and clean rooms, but doesn`t have restaurant neither a inside proper place for take the breakfast. The breakfast area is not good once is together with the front desk. Just a small place to sleep. The staff team are in general ungenerously. The pro is the price lower than others hotels in L.A.

This Hotel is near the Farmer's market, The Grove Shopping Centre, many restaurants, close the LACMA Art Museum, La Brea Tar pits, Pederson Auto museum and a short bus ride to all the sights of Hollywood Blvd and Sunset Strip. Room was small and tight but very clean.

Location was good; especially if you're heading across the street to the CBS studios. However, this is pretty much the only redeeming quality of this hotel. This place is a dump. Multiple items in the room (including one light switch and some items on the end table) were sticky, the door hinges were rusty, there was a golf ball sized hole in the ceiling, […] hair on one of the pillows, a peanut butter stain on the wall and the room smelled terrible. and the elevator and hallway are just gross. I could have lived with a room that is really, really tiny (no closet or bar to hang clothes from) since its a cheap hotel. But I'm really only willing to make this concession with the provision that the room itself is decent. But this place wasn't even vaguely acceptable. This is a motel, not a hotel. And I would never recommend it to anyone I actually like. Mehr

The hotel itself was OK - a clean place to stay in a nice area of LA. We went for a friend's wedding, and on both nights there returned after midnight only to find no more parking was available. The reason I chose Rodeway over another similarly priced hotel was for the parking, and after long day out the last thing you want to do is try to find street […] parking in a crowded LA neighborhood. Small room and tight parking but great location, clean room, easy access to the Grove and Farmer's Market. CVS is within walking distance. Safe neighborhood. 8 minute drive to Cedars and gas station located adjacent to location.

this hotel had a great location but thats it room 209 which i stayed was about as big as the closet i have at home. i almost got stuck in the underground parking there is plenty of room if u drive a vw bug or a smart car. but the location is directly across from cbs studio and close to shopping at the grove (mall) p.s. the room smelled funky

Receptionist did not smile. Room was spartan, Not enough electrical outlets. Dresser drawer broken. AC excellent. location perfect for our needs. Bed was comfortable. Window shades good. breakfast cereal and toast/bagel only. No fruit or yogurt. Not worth the money

Convenient location, but everything else was horrible. We were given a room on first floor and at night they never bothered to close the front doors so all you hear is cars driving by. The room was tiny, got a smoking room although had requested NON SMOKING and the reception lady was not very friendly....would NOT recommend!!! And if you book through […] Hotels.com they give you the worst rooms. Mehr

...you can't get any closer to CBS Television City. The room is small--VERY small--but adequate.

Was looking for a not too expensive hotel in a central area and the Roadway Inn was perfect. It's clean, the staff is nice and welcoming, breakfast is included and very good for the price. Parking on the back is very convenient too. Would stay again.

If you're looking for a hotel room that is centrally located, this is perfect! We were able to check in at 1pm and leave our cars in the garage while we went off and enjoyed LA. The rooms are very small (tiny) and the garage entrance was narrow, but it is no big deal. You only need a bed and a bathoom anyways, right? The room was clean, the a/c worked […] great and walking to the Farmer's Market and The Grove in the morning was awesome! The lady at the front desk was very helpful and sweet as well. This hotel was fine for me. The room was average, but clean. Advantage of this place was free parking. They have a tiny underground lot for compact cars and a lot behind the hotel. I suggest the one behind the hotel. It tends to fill up quickly and is small as well. The lobby desk was very nice and helpful and the breakfast was OK. Check-in Staff didn't seem all that interested in assisting guests. Hotel is a bit outdated with expired elevator inspections posted, and a previous hotel name listed on signage posted in the room. Great location for getting around Hollywood/LA area, but not much more than a bed and place to keep your stuff.

Would only recommend one night stay. Not the best but far from the worst. We were in LA for the price is right, and this hotel was directly across the road. Limited parking, room clean, bed comfy lots of pillows. The halls were sketchy looking... few amenities

Our Rodeway room was tiny, but had everything we needed (except BBCAmerica on the TV). Clean and comfortable, though somewhat run-down, I'd file this solidly under "adequate." Decent for the price. The plastic keys didn't work at all for the first room we were given. Then we were offered a smoking room on the first floor that was the same rate. I am a smoker and it smelled so bad it made me sick. The third room we were given was actually an "upgrade", was decent and they did it for the same rate. A very bad experience overall. We checked in late with a very surly clerk only to find that instead of the queen size bed we had reserved, we were in a tiny room with a full size bed. The room was so small there was only room for the bed and one nightstand; a second nightstand would have meant the door would not open. We were tired and decided to make […] do for one night, and change rooms the next day. I went down the next morning and the clerk agreed right away that the room we had included a full size bed, but said "we call those queen size for bookings". After much discussion, she said she could give us a room with two beds, but it would cost half again as much as what I had paid. If what she said is true, this is just deceptive. If they just ran out of queen size beds, they should have admitted it, apologized, and moved us at no extra charge. Other problems -- the advertised wireless internet didn't reach to our room (and apparently not to other rooms at the rear of the motel, based on conversations with other guests). There is parking in a tiny garage (as others have noted), but there are not enough spots for all the rooms; we had to park on the street twice (and luckily it was early and late on a sunday, so the meters were not in effect). I will say the room was clean; at least housekeeping does a good job. Be careful about booking here. Mehr

Good for short quick business trip, definitly NOT for vocation

I just returned from spending three nights in this hotel and found that the location is excellent and that the rooms were very small, spartan, but very clean. If you liked your college dorm room you will like this room. Good value for the $ and location. Recommendations to hotel: replace carpet when needed, the patch was uber-tacky and re-upholster […] chair when needed, gives off a creepy vibe when there is a hole in upholstery the size of a dime, and please DO NOT allow smoking in your lovely little courtyard. Being a non-smoker, I had to leave a very relaxing time out there twice when the smoker/s moved in. The area is not big enough and too enclosed for the smoke to clear. Otherwise, bed comfortable, staff nice, and a good stay. Mehr
