The location is nice, conveniently only about 20 min to Colonial Williamsburg and Jamestown, outlets, etc... Newport News does not seem as safe as Williamsburg but we did not feel unsafe at the Hampton. The employees were friendly and always helpful. Location is very good with plenty of shops and restaurants. 20 mins from colonial williamsburg and busch gardens. Family friendly hotel with decent breakfast and courteous staff. Will come back again.

I was very happy with my stay while on a 2 day business trip. Very nice rooms and staff were very friendly. Will stay here again.

Staff was engaging and very friendly. Room was very clean, no funky smells! Breakfast buffet was good and more than enough to get the day started. Pool was well kept and towels were readily available. Definately a good place to stay!

It was our safe haven during hurricane Sandy. The staff was courteous and friendly. We loved Mario at the front desk. Everything was very neat and clean. The pool was a little too chilly for me to swim, though our grandson didn't seem to mind. Breakfast was all we could ask for. We will be staying there for our next trip!

I have used this hotel a number of times. The front desk help are usually very helpful, but I got a real lemon this time. She was rude, uncommunicative, and created a long line with her slowness. She wasn't wearing a nametag so that I could identify her. I also don't understand why the hotel has cookies and bag breakfasts during the week, but do not […] offer these amenities on the weekend. I had to leave before breakfast was served and I was not able to get a bag to go with me. Otherwise, a nice hotel and conveniently located. I will continue to stay there. Mehr

Great hotel! Staff works very hard to maintain the hotel. Great breakfast! Very clean pool. Excellent vacinity to Busch Gardens, Williamsburg & Virginia Beach. Our family didnt want to leave!

We stayed here for a long weekend while visiting Busch Gardens and Williamsburg. The hotel is right off of the highway and easy to get to. The hotel itsefl was wonderful - clean and very well kept. The staff was absolutely excellent! Each person that we encountered was professional but warm and friendly. We will definitely be using the Hampton Inn the next time we are in the area.

The hotel room was clean and comfortable and I would definitely recommend it. The only turnoff (if you can call it that) is that the lobby was essentially null and void because the hotel is currently renovating.

Hotel staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean. Was unaware that the hotel was under renovations. Besides the inconvenience of missing wood floor boards and debris in the lobby, the hotel was a decent stay especially for the price.

We recently stayed in this hotel on our way to the Outerbanks. The staff was very friendly. The hotel was the cleanest I've ever stayed in. The free hot breakfast in the morning had a good variety and everything was fresh. We could not have had a better experience. Definitely would stay again!

We liked the hotel's location close to shops, restaruants, movie theater, skating ring. It was also nice to have a fridge and a microwave in the room. We had prepaid our stay and, this being the first time, I did not know what to expect as far as completing forms, explaining our needs, etc was concerned. To my surprise, when we arrived at the front desk, the registration form was already made up and all was required was my signature. We were quickly explained the amenities, such as internet hook-up […] and complimentary breakfast area, and shown how to get to our rooms. Everything there was perfect, including a very comfortable king-size bed, great TV channel selection and quietness. As we traveled with our CAA guidebook, we asked the front desk attendant to suggest a local sea food restaurant: she happened to tell us about the Bone Fish, which was well rated by the CAA,and where we went to that very same night (we loved that too). Air conditioner was quiet and efficient. Check-out procedures were just as swift and pleasant. The hotel is conveniently situated right next to a Hwy 64 exit. All and all, an excellent stay. Mehr

I have stayed in several hotels in this area and the Hampton Inn is tops. Besides being clean and well-located, the staff are friendly and helpful. I was greeted with chocolate chip cookies and coffee when I checked in and, when the front desk receptionist learned that I would have to leave too early to take advantage of the buffet breakfast, she gave […] me a bag of breakfast snacks to take with me. Rooms are not big enough to comfortable sleep 5 (we had 3 adults and 2 teenagers (kids), no cot would fit in the room and we had to get our own pillows from the front desk and towels for a swim (the pool and hot tub were nice - just no towels available).

This hotel was very nice and clean. The location was great. We needed to eat dinner right away. The last thing we wanted to do was get back in the car, so we were very happy to have restaurants within walking distance.
