The stay was great. There were two minor issues. One is that it was a one way in & one way out parking lot onto a main highway. There was no way to get out the back so that was a little hectic in morning traffic. Also, the breakfast bar was good however, my wife is not a "hey lets go eat with everyone" kind of person. The room was small because two queen beds were in there plus a table and two chairs. The biggest flaw in our stay was the quality of the wireless internet. It was so weak that we had trouble staying online. Our laptops only registered one or two lines of strength and was very slow. We were just passing through for a one night stay. They had a 24 hour front desk, which was convenient. Continental breakfast was great. "walking distance from most stores."
Whenever I make resevations at a hotel Ialways enquire about their exercise room. The exercise equiptment was outdated, the television was an antaloge that did work. The televsion in the room showed dark pictures the five nights we stayed. I reported it to the front desk and was informed the new televions for the exercise room and hotel rooms would […] be installed after my stay at the hotel. Also, we were booked for five days and nights but discovered that if we didn't allowed the house keepers in before tweleve noon we could not have the rooms service. I was advised that if we needed towels we could call the front desk and someone would bring towels. My complaint is we stayed five days and night and sometimes didn't get up or leave until after 12 noon. Any guest who stay more than one nught should have the rooms services later than 12 noon. We pay for full service and we should have our rooms serviced within a more reanable time frame. "Good Value with one big drawback"
We checked in -- prepaid on Expedia. Front desk person was very courteous. Asked if we wanted a room on the first floor, I said yes as long as it is non smoking. She said "sure". We got in to the room (it was very late) and it absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke. I was too tired to go to the front desk at that point as we had been on the road for more […] than 13 hours but it ruined the experience for me. By the time I woke up the next morning I had a headache from the smell and could not wait to get out. I cannot recommend this hotel if this is what the "non-smoking" rooms are like. Perhaps there was a mistake and we were given a smoker's room... Breakfast was decent, staff was decent and courteous, location was convenient and the hotel was in decent shape and well maintained for an older building. With a coupon code, I got this for a very good price so I can't complain at all! We arrived really late and the desk clerk was very nice and helpful. As it was dark and I couldn't really see the surrounding area, she assured me that it was indeed a safe place and that they'd never had any problems. They have security cameras placed around the property […] also so everything is being watched at all times. During my bedbug inspection (something that's unfortunately very necessary these days) I noticed nothing except that the mattresses seemed almost brand new. That was a plus also. There are fast-food places across the street and down the street as well as a Walmart not too far down the street. I can't testify to anything else as we were only there for about eight hours before heading to our destination. I was satisfied with the hotel, the desk clerk, and confident as to the safety of the area. I personally think this is a good place to stay for an overnight trip.
