This was a great hotel, I only wish we could have stayed longer. We were on a long trip and therefore only stayed for a short night, but the hotel was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the staff was nice.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed a nice hot breakfast!

We stayed here on vacation because it was only about 20-30min from everything in St. Louis. We have 3 kids and didn't want to stay right in the big city. This hotel is very close to gas stations, and restaurants of all variety. Right off the highway so it's in a convenient location. Bed did not have a mattress pad. We stayed 4 days and the tub was never cleaned. The room was extremely musty smelling which caused me to use lysol throughout to reduce the odor. On a positive side, the staff was friendly and helpful.

Hotel was great. The room we got (a suite with a hide-away bed & 2nd TV) was perfect for all our kids. Breakfast was good. It was nice having cookies out for our kids. Only negative was the pool area was less than the best. Their dehumidifier was broken (that's what they said) & it seemed there was way too much clorine in pool or it was too strong […] the first day or so (all our eyes were burning after 15 min. of swimming). I told them about it, and they must have addressed it because the next day or two it seemed much better. Otherwise, it was a great stay. Mehr

We originally staying in this hotel in late February. We had issues with the housekeeping staff not cleaning the room or giving us fresh towels. But I thought we would try it again. We arrived after 10pm on a Friday nite. The room we were given was filthy, the beds were not made and there were no clean towels. They moved us to another room. This room […] had a bed made with dirty sheets that had food and hair in them, the pillowcases had drool and filth on them, no clean towels and there was food on the curtains. I had to change the sheets and get clean towels because they were out of rooms and we had booked thru Hotels.com so they couldn't refund our money. When I went down to the manager the next morning she had no clue because she had not bothered to read the notes log that the night manager had written the issue down in. She tried to offer us another stay, I told her I didn't plan to ever stay at this hotel again! I would not recommend this hotel at all. Mehr

The location was great & the breakfast was good. We only got housekeeping on the 2nd day there. I slept on one side of the bed Friday night upon arrival & Saturday night I found balled up tissue paper on the other unslept side of the bed. When I asked the housekeeper when she came that Sunday what was going on, she gave me the whole spill on the housekeepers […] quitting & they had no one to clean the rooms the day before. I took it as they just made up the beds & didn't change the linens, vacuumed the floors, & emptied the trash. Other than that the room was great. Mehr

What a nightmare checking in. After driving 13 hours the front desk did not want to check us in two hours early, after a heated exchange we were checked in and it went down hill from there. First room had not been cleaned, we asked for another room, 2nd room had banging water pipes in the walls, so again we asked for another room, 3rd room was clean […] and noise free. Thats about all I can say about it. Nothing good about the hotel itself, the local area around the hotel was nice, it was easy access to hotels and shopping. Mehr

I was there for a long weekend. Even though it was almost midnight when I arrived, the front desk person was friendly and helpful. The hot tub wasn't working during the first part of my stay, but they promptly fixed it. I had a room with a separate bedroom and living room. Although it was small, it was adequate for a small gathering. I used the fitness […] center daily, which was clean and stocked with towels. The computer in the front lobby has a printer which is very handy. Although I don't eat most of the breakfast they offer, there was always a supply of fruit and yogurt. Having the frig and microwave in the room was wonderful. I'll definitely stay there again! Mehr

We were there for two nights. Asked if there was an additional upgrade, and we were told that we actually had there best room already. GREAT! I will start with positives: breakfast served downstairs was the best part of the trip. They also provide cookies and coffee throughout the day (while there was always coffee, never did see the cookies). Negatives: […] Upon arrival, found that the "suite" we had booked was actually a couch shoved into a little cutout by itself; no tv, no light, nothing. Went downstairs to complain, and they said it was due to us booking the "studio" suite. When we told them we would take the one we saw on line we were told THAT one wasn't available (the one bedroom suite). She gave us 2 other rooms to check to see if we liked them better, with the promise that she would try moving us to the 1 bedroom suite the following night. Upon checking the 1st room; looked just like the one we had - King Studio Suite. 2nd room was the 2 bed Queen Studio Suite. This was much bigger than the King and actually had a couch with a light a tv and a table; so we returned all the keys and moved all of our stuff to the new room. After getting everything moved in, we checked for bedbugs; didn't find any. Then we checked out the TV in the couch area for our son... didn't work well, and the stations that did come in were all in black and white... really?! Called downstairs to complain, and was told we could move back to the other room. No thanks. Never received the promised one-bedroom suite, and after researching my original reservation I found that there are actually no pics of the "Studio Suite." Personal experience; would not stay there again, but if you're going in knowing all this information, then it's your decision. Happy Travels!! Mehr

Pool and room were clean

Great hotel! The complimentary hot breakfast was wonderful.

The hotel was clean, and the staff friendly. There were several small annoyances that I overlooked because my stay was brief and I just needed a place to sleep. I reserved a king room, received a double queen room. The battery in the remote control was dead, so I had to change the tv channels the old fashioned way. The tub spigot dripped. These were […] minor to me, I didn't report them, and they certainly didn't "ruin" my night. But, I did find it unusual to have that many small issues (usually I find no problems with a room). So, I don't know if it points to larger issues or trends with the hotel or not. Otherwise, my room was clean, the bed was comfy, the heater worked fine, and the wi-fi worked as expected. Country Inn is usually my hotel of choice but this one had some issues. The people were friendly and helpful but had some issues. 1st Room was not cleaned. Beds unmade, towels on floors and garbage in room. Second room had all the furniture up on he beds and air conditioner broken They had done carpet cleaning and carpets were still wet. I stayed here for business and the front desk person accidentally put me in a smoking room. I called down and asked to be switched which was no issue, but then when I got down there she made up some excuse about how that room is not "supposed" to be smoking. Just apologize and move on. the room smelled terriable. we stayed two nights after first night left a note asking if they could do something about the smell, they left a bottle of fabreeze in the room for us when we returned. They did not vaccum the floors when they cleaned our room after first night. bathroom was small, pool did not have dry towels when asked to bring some it […] took an hour. We arrived, tired and late. The staff, especially Jeff could not of been more helpful. They got us into our room quickly, gave us detailed directions on where to eat, then assisted me with utensils and plates for my dinner. We were greeted by the employees before we even entered the building. Was offered HOT cookies and shown where the pool and spa […] was. I can't say enough great things about this hotel, my stay, even only for a day was completely trouble free. To bad I had to leave then next morning, I would have enjoyed seeing the area. Mehr

A tornado hit St. Louis on April 22, 2011, and was told by Desk Clerk lightnight strike disabled the WiFi capabilities at hotel that night. On July 21, WiFi still not working. The hotel should buy a router and fight with the insurance company later. The safe in my room could not be opened by maintenace. Door knob cover missing in bathroom. Small areas […] in my room needed simple touch up painting. Appear to be maintenace problems, lots of motion, little progress. Breakfast in the morning was very good. Computer in lobby also affected by WiFi outage. Mehr

Great hotel at a great price. Convenient to Scott Air Force Base (we were visiting a relative stationed there) and also to St. Louis. Staff friendly and helpful.

I used to live in the area and knew friends and colleagues that stayed in this hotel four years ago with satisfaction. It's amazing what a difference four years can make. The check-in staff was non-existent four of the five times I went to speak with someone (during normal business hours). Once, a maintenance technician actually saw me standing there […] and he answered my question for me. Nice of him, but where was the desk staff? When we were helped, it was rather unprofessional and borderline apathetic. We reserved in a jacuzzi suite. Initially, we were given a standard room, then we were given a room with a large tub, then we were given a jacuzzi suite. It shouldn't take three attempts to check-in the correct room. When we got the correct room, it wasn't ready until an hour after normal check-in time...and "clean" and "ready" are obviously terms with very foggy definitions at this location. The duvet was dirty and obviously not cleaned in a while, there were stains on the pillow cases, large water/liquid stains on the ottoman, the LCD tv's screen as large spots on it (probably due to being pressed hard on the screen & damaging it), mildew in the bathtub's caulking, and the "marble" baseboard of the tub was kicked in such that you could see the raw concrete between the tile and the tub basin. The jacuzzi in the jacuzzi suite wasn't anything to write home about. I wasn't expecting a 5-star luxury bathroom, but you'll notice there aren't any photos of the jacuzzi in the suite photos on this (or the hotel's) site. There's probably a reason for that. It's basically a room with a tub, a toilet, and rather insufficient lighting. The sink is located outside of the bathroom. The jets in the jacuzzi worked though, so I guess that's a plus. Finally, housekeeping did not service our room on the final night/day of our stay. In their defense, they knocked around 9AM on a Sunday and I told the housekeeper we were still getting ready. this hotel was ran by very rude folks, the rooms we not cleaned everday had to ask for towel ect. The breakfast was not stocked for the first 2 days. the only person that was helpful was ms jessicia . the hot tub was turned way up and when i went to tell the front desk they were not to be found i did'nt want any kids to get injured. i travel to st louis […] area several times a year and will not stay there even with the good price Mehr

The staff was not really concerned with the customers requests at all. The rooms smelled bad and housekeeping did not even do a mediocre job. Breakfast was non-exsistant with an hour left, and how do you run out of coffee? I did call corporate and received a very concerned customer service agent. I just think that particular hotel needs help.

Was not impressed with the staff. I had asked several times for help with our refrigerator. Also the 1st day our room was not cleaned even though we called down and specfically asked for it to be. The hotel was in a good location.

As soon as we opened the door we noticed that the floors were dirty. Candy wrappers and lint were I the walkway so it wasn't just in the hard to reach places. The bathroom was worse. There was hair on the tub and all over the floor and we cleaned the toilet ourselves before using it. There was only a small amount of toilet paper on one roll and no spare […] roll. The cleaning ladies were still yelling as they cleaned the room across the hall. The next morning they were playing very loud music. A vac was left by the elevator all night. Stayed with my husband for 3 nights w/o our kids. Hardest bed I have ever slept on (King suite). Mirrors had something (creamy... yuck) on them and wasn't cleaned for days. Bathtub had black hair all over in it and then found the same black hair in the "clean" towels. I expected bedding to be changed every night because there is a card to be placed […] on bed if you wish to conserve water. I did not place a card on the bed and it still was not changed for 3 nights. I was suspicious after the first night so I sprayed my perfume on the sheets and guess what .. still smelled like my perfume on the sheets when we returned later that night. I questioned the desk about it and they said they would have a manager call me (still waiting for that call) and they still didn't change the sheets even after complaining. They said if you want your sheets changed you have to request it at the front desk (huh ??). I showed them the card and they just shrugged. It was not my desire to waste my day in the hotel telling them how to do their job so after a couple of hours of waiting we went to dinner. Mehr

Super hotel, very clean, great breakfast, and very nice staff.

We had a few issues during our stay. The first was at check in. We arrived around 6pm and had to wait for our room to be cleaned (even though check in was 2pm). Then, we realize the room we were led to believe was ours was not (we requested a Living Room Suite). The Hotels.com Rep even called Country Inn to ensure the room we reserved was the type with […] a door seperating the sofa bed and room. The hotel could not offer the Living Room Suite since it was booked. After settling in for a couple days, we noticed the towels were not being changed out and our trash was never emptied. The day before check out, I requested our sheets be changed since they had not for 3 days and my son spilled juice on the sheet. House Keeping said they had no clean linens (this was at 2pm) but that our bed would be made before night. We came back at 9:30PM and no sheets. I called the front desk and the clerk helped me with clean sheets and making the bed. If you don't mind chasing someone down for towels and making your own bed, then I would recommend this hotel. The breakfast was nice and pool/hot tub. Not big but never crowded. The hotel credited us $20 for the inconvenience. We are going to try another hotel for our next trip though. Mehr

We had a spontaneous vacation trip to St. Louis MO. We booked this Country Inn and Suites through hotels.com. Overall, it was ok. Our room was suppose to be non smoking, but when we got into it the smell was horrible. We were suppose to have a refrigerator and a microwave, but the refrigerator was not cold and we did not have a micro. The room was not […] the cleanest, the general areas were kept up, but the little things were overlooked. The beds however, were very comfortable. The breakfast was not kept up continuously throughout the weekend mornings. The juices tasted off, but the only employee that could fix it wasn't coming in that weekend. So, no juice for two days. Not a clean breakfast environment. The pool and jacuzzi were nice. Mehr

The hotel is staffed with friendly people. The hostess who checked me in remembered me for past trips. She was in the middle of dealing with some unsatified customer on the phone and tired to remain professional during the interaction. I remained patient while checking in. The hotel pool and hot tub were closed to due to a lack of inspection; this was […] dissapointing considering my two day lay-over. Not sure why this was not taken care as not to put customers out? I settled into my clean room and found it to be comfortable and relaxing. As I turned on the television I found two handouts for HBO and SHowtime...I found HBO on the television but no Showtime...confusing. The remote for the tv didnt work and I adapted again and just went "old School" to adjust stations and volume. I order deliver for dinner and after waiting an hour and half went to the from desk to inquire. I was told the delievery driver was their ten minutes ago with the wrong room number. COnsider I called the same front desk for the local pizza numbers I assumed they could have at least inquired...but again not their fault...all in all I spend the day working in my room. I watched the housekeeping crews working very hard and they were friendly. Mehr

I don't know where to start with this place. Upon check-in there was no one at the front desk. I waited over 30 minutes before somebody showed up. I ended up picking up the phone and dialing "0" and someone answered saying they'd be there in a minute which took another 10 minutes before they showed up. The hotel as a whole has some type of plumbing […] problems. During my stay the bathroom wasn't operable almost one whole day. Toilet overflowed more than once and the hotel only had 2 plungers and other guests were using them. Couldn't be moved because they were booked and some rooms were "under repair". Didn't get a plunger until 2am and each time the toilet was flushed it had to be plunged. The ice machine on the 3rd floor didn't work, the one on the 2nd floor gave out ice chips mixed with all types of debris. The microwave in one of our rooms didnt work. The pool area had been closed down since 1/21/11 by the Health Department for a list of reasons. This would have been nice to know before checking in. The only good thing about my stay here were the cookies served at the front desk. I ate plenty while waiting on someone to check me in. Mehr

The hotel is nice and conveniently located. I did not think the room was cleaned quite as thoroughly as I like- corners of the room and under the bed were missed with vaccuming. The breakfast was disappointing but perhaps I needed to go earlier. The people servicing the hotel were really nice.

This is a quiet, clean and very comfortable place to stay in Fairview Heights/O'Fallon. Its worth the little more in cost, for a area that is close to STL, but also has resturants close by. Worth the drive,

Room was quite nice, had a fold out couch that we were not expecting, was nice to have that for the kids. Check in was less that desirable, but not a deal breaker. Our request for adjoing rooms was not honored, and that was a bit frustrating. Pool was nice, breakfast was fine. Would stay there again.
