The hotel was close to the freeway and only 10-15 minutes from Legoland. There was a nice continental breakfast. The rooms were priced reasonable for what we received. The carpets were not clean and the pool was small and did not look nice but my kids swam anyway. This was a 2 star hotel at best so I received what I paid for. Close (enough) to the beach and the major attractions at an incredibly discounted rate.

Hotel was clean, and very easy access to everything in surrounding area. Very pleasant stay. Pet friendly. Would come back again and bring my pet.

Rooms were clean, but some rooms had a bad smell and the water tasted bad. The continential breakfast, however was very nice with varied breakfast pastries and several other options. Hotel seemed a little older and a bit run down, but ok for the price.

The main problem for this hotel, they rent to people for the long stay. During the night, they were noisy. When walking in the hallway, we saw the ash trays full of cigarettes, most disgusting - people spitted in the hallway. The room itself is really OK for the price.

This HJ is located right off the 5 freeway. It is close to everything and you save a few bucks by being on the east side of the freeway.

I use this location for work every so often. Always treated well by staff and location is perfect, right off the I-5 fwy. Best thing I could say is that I am a returning customer.

everything was fine but was not very close to any fast food or restaurants.

Nothing fancy, but clean enough. The pool did not look very clean, but I didn't use it. Breakfast was nothing fancy, but fruit and bagels available.

Blood on the blanket, filth on the floor, non-smoking room had burn marks in the carpet and smelled like smoke, and air unit smelled like pet urine. When problems were addressed with front desk, nothing was done. I checked out after 2 hours of waiting for help, and was bot given a refund.

For the Carlsbad area this was a very clean and economical choice for hotels. While not a 3 or 4 star hotel, it was still a very comfortable place to stay. Our room included a fridge, microwave, safe for valuables and the room was clean and comfortable. All in all it was worth the value.

Reservations were as promised. The room had a microwave and mini-frig which was a nice surprise. Clean room and super freeway convenient. We needed two beds for us & our two grandkids. The full size bed is really small for two adult grand-parents. Stay in rooms away from freeway to avoid noise. Very narrow parking spaces. GREAT pizza place nearby called […] Leucadia Pizza on PCH! Really close and handy to Legoland and beach. Reservation thru Hotels was super easy and easily accepted. Front desk people not very helpful or friendly. Don't leave anything in room. Our Grandkid left an i-pod charger in the room & took 5 phone calls to staff who were not very accommodating in dealing with issue. Good luck speaking with the manager. Breakfast room had trash can overflowing toward end of morning and no waffles as stated on ad. Need staff person to monitor. Overall it was a good choice for a visit to the park. Let me confess, I stayed for just an overnight, after my Lego-land visit. I found the staff person was very friendly, I had a room booked, which I checked in late night, room had everything as requested. Had nothing much to do late in night, except crash to bed, and beds were comfortable , not very great, but well done. Room did not smelled or howled […] at me anyway, my kids went to sleep in great comfort and woke up in morning fresh, Breakfast was standard, and good for start of the day. As my room was on 3 floor, had no issues from neighbors. Good thing was my room was not facing the freeway, that what was requested when booking so I got it, and avoided the issues that people have faced in reviews. Mehr

Good value for the price. Rented four rooms. Only one complaint: three of the four had a lingering scent of old cigarette smoke (though advertised as non-smoking). One was pristine.

This was a clean basic hotel. The parking lot is very small with narrow spaces, however. It is conveniently located near the 5 Fwy. The continental breakfast was OK -- bagels, cereal, hard boiled eggs, juice, coffee etc. Close enough to Carlsbad.

for the location, price, and pet accomodations, I would recommend this hotel for the traveler with pets.

I was in Carlsbad for a one night event and didn't want to spend a lot of money on a place just to sleep. Not only was the hotel affordable it had quite a few amenities that made it that much more of a deal. The breakfast in the morning was more than I expected, and the room was very comfortable (I was even given the option of what floor I wanted to […] be on). My only complaint was that I asked for a king-size and instead ended up with two fulls. However, I bet if I went back and asked for a different room I'm pretty sure I would have gotten it. Another great bonus is that the hotel is really close to the freeway, so coming and going was easy. Would definitely stay again! Mehr

The hotel was not bad, the only thing that was missing was a business center with a computer. The hotel did have wireless, but I do not have a laptop.

everything is ok and clean. for the price you can't ask for more. however the ac is horrible. its so loud you can't sleep well. your like in a cruise ship only that your in the engine room.

Rates and quality of service is simply superb.

This hotel was not bad enough for me to say "don't stay there." However, the tub was dingy and the handle was so tight I almost cut my hand on the sharp plastic covering trying to regulate the water temperature. The lights didn't work well. The bed was uncomfortable. The front desk clerk was aloof; not quite rude but not welcoming either. I stay in […] hotels a lot in So. Cal. I won't be giving this one my dollars again. Mehr

good location good breakfast not a bad stay for the price

Stayed 1 night prior to a 100 mile road bike event. Friendly staff! Clean room! Instant hot water, A/C. Stayed on 1st fl; on East side away from freeway - much quieter. Easy on/off I5. Lots of restaurants nearby. Had dinner at great pasta place: Rosanna's Pasta.

This hotel is very nice on the outside and inside...rooms are spacious, and neat..Didnt like the bedspreads, but overall it was comfortable..Delicious breakfast, nice staff, great location..great price, really good deal...right off fwy..I keep coming back..

It was a decent hotel, but the clientele was scary and the cleaniness was an issue. People that looked dangerous were hanging out on balconies smoking and drinking. There was even 2 women outside is scimpy underwear. This is NOT A HOTEL to bring children. It looks like people that pay by the hour stay there.

if you are like me to visit LEGOLAND and DISNEYLAND (Lego was our priority) then you at the right spot. Close to highway and attractions - very good continental breakfast and if you heading to LEGOLAND make sure you stop at STRAWBERRIES stand at Cannon RD exit - delicious ...

Carpet so dirty and spoted had to keep shoes on. Didn't sit on sofa, too many dirty spots on seat, arms and back of sofa. Bathtub had rust radiating out from the drain and the floor of the tub was covered with a black outline where a rubber mat had been (apparently not removed for cleaning for a long time). just a short stay (2 nights) and for the money - its really ok! clean, easy off/on freeway - didn't seem noisy considering we were right next to the freeway - great shower - weak (midwarm) spa but we will def. stay here again.

We needed a place to stay for a short time and this hotel is more than accomodating. NO FEE for pets. The amenities were a perfect and you cannot beat the price. It is a stone's throw from the freeway and close proximity to all the stores. Can't ask for more.

Conveniently located. Clean except for carpet. Check in desk clerk needs training in people skills. Overall, a decent place that met my expectations. I'd stay there again.
