Das Hotel war super, nur ein paar Stationen bis zur Oxford Circus und dem erstaunlichen Westfield Shopping Center auf der anderen Straßenseite. Große Zimmer mit hervorragender Ausstattung, vor allem sehr ruhig. Das Personal war unglaublich hilfsbereit. Das Hotel hat alles, was man für einen City-Trip nach London braucht. Frühstück nahmen wir nicht in Anspruch, dafür gab es alles nah in der Umgebung. Für Selbstversorger bestens geeignet.

Positiv am Hotel die Lage, sonst kann man nichts positives über das Hotel schreiben! Die Zimmer sind alt und schmudelig brauchen dringend eine Auffrischung. Hotel ist für alle Londonreisende zu empfehlen, die auf Komfort wenig Wert legen dafür aber in unmittelbarer Zentrumsnähe wohnen wollen. Das Frühstück kann man sich sparen.
"Super zentral und alles dabei"
Ich war mit einer Freundin für 4 Tage in London und wir hatten echt Glück mit dem London Guards Hotel. Das Zimmer war sehr groß, sogar mit Kühlschrank und Wasserkocher mit Kaffeeauswahl. Jeder hatte sein eigenes Bett mit Blick auf den Fernseher. Ein eigenes Bad war dabei, mit allem drum und dran. Wir hatten einen schönen Ausblick und da das Hotel sehr […] ruhig lag, konnte man auch sehr gut schlafen. Das Zimmer wurde jeden Tag gereinigt, da gabs schon mal mehr Trinkgeld. Und das beste überhaupt, was wir erst vor Ort erfahren haben, dass Frühstück inbegriffen war. Ein gutes Buffet mit Brot, Croissants, diverse Marmeladen, Nutella, Käse, Obst, Joghurt, Getränke, Müsli, alles was das Herz begehrt. Der Hotelservice war freundlich und schnell. Vom Hotel kam man gut zum Lancester Gate oder Bayswater und war ein paar Schritte vom Hyde Park entfernt. Ich war nun das 5te Mal in London und das war das beste Hotel. "Nettes Hotel in guter Lage"
Das Hotel ist zwar etwas in die Jahre gekommen, hat aber Charme. Die Lage ist recht zentral. Die Busverbindung (Lancaster Gate) von/zur Viktoriastation Linie 148 war super. Der schöne Hydepark ist direkt um die Ecke. Das Zimmer war groß und einfach ausgestattet. Der kaputte Fön wurde sofort ausgetauscht. "Gemütlich, preiswert und gut erreichbar"
Ein sehr preiswertes Hotel für London, gut gelegen am Lancaster Gate zwischen Notting Hill und Marble Arch, direkt am Hyde Park. Die Zimmer sind charmant und ein bißchen oll, aber sauber. Der Service sehr freundlich und nett. Das Haus ist typisch englisch verschachtelt, es gibt viele Teppiche, Türen und Treppen. Schwachpunkte sind: nur eine gemeinsame […] Nachtischlampe für zwei Betten, und die Lichtkultur allgemein, auch im Frühstücksraum. Das Frühstück ist einfallslos, kaum Obst, keine Eier. Vom Hotel zur U-Bahn (Lancaster Gate und Paddington) sowie zu Bushaltestellen läuft man nur wenige Minuten. Die City ist prima zu erreichen. Das Hotel liegt in einer ruhigen Nebenstrasse. "Nähe Hyde Park"
4 Tage Städteurlaub mit den Kindern. Das Hotel diente nur zur Übernachtung und soll auch nicht für mehr genutzt werden. Die Leute sind freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Hotel ist relativ alt und besitzt keinen speziellen Charme und Komfort. Unser Zimmer war alt undzweckmässig eingerichtet. Das Badezimmer sehr klein und alt. Das Frückstück war bescheiden. "Schöner Urlaub"
Wir waren den ganzen Tag unterwegs und wollten daher nur ein großes Zimmer da wir mit unserer 19 Jährigen Tochter verreisten und U-Bahnnähe war wichtig, Genau das haben wir bekommen, Zimmer war für Londonverhältnisse riesig, mit Kühlschrank und Wasserkocher. Tee, Kaffe, Zucker und Milch wurde immer aufgefüllt. Frühstück war OK. Zimmer schon etwas abgewohnt […] aber sehr sauber und Handdücher und Bettwäsche wurde immer gewechselt. "Quiet location for short stay"
Hotel offers good short stay accommodation but when inquiring about availability of evening meal, does not tell you that there is an Armenian restaurant in the basement! Only that breakfast is served there. Round the corner is a very good pub called the Mitre, where one can get good quality food at a reasonable price.

the hotel could do with some TLC - the paint is peeling on both the outside & inside - bathroom ceiling paint almost none existent. Curtains & linen dated. However - it was clean , the service fine and the location superb - just opposite hyde park & 5 mins from Lancaster Gate. Not a place for a romantic retreat but as a value stop over - why not.

Very friendly welcome, decor a little tired but very clean. Room very clean not large but adequate for place to sleep & shower (we were out all day & again at night). Fridge in room and lots of supplies for tea & coffee making. Excellent choice at continental breakfast. 2 small complaints - pillows a little flat & main lift was not working, did not […] like the service lift much! Our room was clean. Staff are friendly. Continental breakfast was much better than in similar hotels. Brilliant shower. Great location. All in all great value for money.

This hotel is conveniently located but away from the main road which means it's quiet. Staff is helpful, rooms are clean, breakfast basic but good.
"Great location - hotel really needs to be updated"
The hotel is close to Paddington Station and Hyde Park which makes it very desirable. The surrounding apartments and hotels have all seemingly been updated which made it a real disappointment to see the state of this hotel. It is very loud and the beds, carpet, bedding all are in desperate need of an update. "Lancaster Gate hotel, London"
Typical London hotel. Wall to wall carpeting and narrow stairs. We were three women who shared a room, plenty of space. Fridge and kettle in the room. Quiet area, no nightlife. Nice pub, The Swan nearby. The hotel has a funny Russian restaurant in the basement. Breakfast was ok. The staff was ok. A value for money stay.

This is a small hotel. Situation is great! We were there three days and weather was good, so we walked to everywhere,( about 2 km to everyone) Buckingham, Harrods,Waxcabinet,museums. Bathroom was oldfashion but worked. Room was clean and breakfast ok. Staff was friendly. Hotel is cheap and it´s good value for your money.

We were very pleased with our hotel the London Guards Hotel, it was very clean, the front desk was very helpful, the location was great we were right across the street from Hyde Park and used the Hop-on Hop-off bus tours that picked up with in walking distance. We would stay there again, if ever back in London.
"If I'd read about it I wouldn't have believed it"
This scrofulous little hotel is situated in a quiet street in a fading genteel part of Bayswater. The building appears to be early Edwardian and the paintwork late Victorian. This would make the paintwork around 30 years older then the building and stands as a testament to British engineering in that they appeared to have applied the paint and then […] constructed a building around it. The mould on the bathroom ceiling was of indeterminate age. The floor in the bedroom sloped to the left. Unfortunately this was in the direction of the bed head which meant that we slept with our feet higher than our heads. As a mark of inconsistency the floor outside our room sloped to the right, giving the three steps going down from our room the appearance of actually going up. The reception desk was staffed by a recent graduate from the Basil Fawlty school of hotel management. We had booked a couple of tours and were due to be picked up from the hotel at 7:30 in the morning. The receptionist advised that breakfast was on at 7:30 so we asked if we could get breakfast a little earlier and were happy to simply have cereal and toast (room service being non-existent). She said we should take this up with the other receptionist in the morning. Her attitude was such that we didn't wish to suggest that she could pick up the phone and call the dining room. We took a ride on the Tube from the city to Lancaster Gate station. Being strangers in London we took a wrong turn on leaving the Underground Station and realised that we were a little lost and asked directions from passing strangers who were unable to help us. I then phoned our favourite receptionist for directions. Her response? "Ask someone" !! We phoned the morning receptionist at 7am to see if we could have a light, simple breakfast and were advised that everything was OK and to simply go down to the dining room. Nice, clean and convenient hotel nearby Hyde park and Buckingham Palace. Big and comfortable room for family of three with two teenagers. Breakfast excellent. Will come back again if going to London.

"London Guards - Basic rooms - good for a night"
Hotel is fine, room was clean, but don't expect a lot of amenities. Place could use a renovation top to bottom. Good location, close to Paddington, Hyde Park.
"Not the nicest hotel"
We chose this hotel due to the reviews, the price and location. The staff was very friendly, and the location was great, but the room was not so great. The room smelled musty, the bedspread had nasty stains, the carpet looked dirty, the toilet did not flush until the handle was pushed 5 to 6 times, and the shower had to be climbed into and then the […] curtain didn't cover the entire shower so the entire floor was soaked every time we showered. The complimentary breakfast was toast and dry cereal, it was the poorest hotel breakfast we had our entire trip. We were hungry 10 min after eating. The hotel is close to the tube, Hyde Park, and easy to get a taxi from. The Russian restaurant down stairs from the hotel is quite good and fun. "Felt like National Lampoon's European Vacation"
Apparently this hotel had a 3 star rating online..but we're not quite sure where that came from. The location was quite decent, close to the beautiful Hyde Park and close to the tube...however..extremely dated and quite dingy. The bathroom was a bit odd, toilet sometimes worked, sometimes not. The beds were not very comfortable, as well as the pillows. […] Overall, it was an odd experience. Not very comfy or inviting, but it served it's purpose and we still enjoyed London. Mehr
Room very tired & grubby. Cockroach running around the bathroom. Hardly any natural light in the room as other buildings were so close & had some sort of cooling system right outside the window, so had to have the light on all the time. The hotel is situated in an old, historic location just off Bayeswater Road which is a terrific location next to Hyde Park. The hotel has lots of character and charm so if you're expecting new and posh, you will be disappointed. there needed to be a bath mat on the floor, there also needed to be a handle on the bath for elderly people. the plumbing was rather noisy and the plug didnt fit the bath properly. apart for that it was very clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly. the location was good. it was near bus stops and the tube station. the park was just across […] the road which was peaceful and lovely for walks. Great location in central London only a few minutes walk from Lancaster Gate Underground station. It is situated in a quiet little cul de sac. Unfortunately the lift was out of order for our stay and my mum really could not manage the stairs but we did get to use the staff lift. It was very old fashioned and a bit rickety but it was better than taking […] the stairs. The hotel is a bit tired and could do with a facelift but it was clean and the room was huge.
