Ashburn Hotel - London

Das Hotel ist super gelegen. ca. 200 Meter vom Tube entfernt und leicht zufinden. Check in war sehr freundlich. Da wir sehr früh in London angekommen sind, konnten wir leider das Zimmer noch nicht beziehen, allerdings wurden die Koffer in einem bewachten Raum aufbewahrt. Zimmer angenehm sauber mit täglicher kleinen Überraschung vom Haus (Badezusatz, […] Pfefferminzdrops etc.). Pluspunkt: kostenloses Upgrad!!! Wir waren fünf Nächte im Hotel. Frühstück war völlig ausreichend, wenn auch der Frühstückstisch sehr klein ausfiel. Extras (Rührei, Cappu, Speck und Würstchen) müssen extra bezahlt werden, vielleicht für Jemanden, der es deftik mag, ein Minuspunkt. Ergebnis: Absolut empfehlenswert!! Mehr

Wir übernachteten 6 Nächte im Hotel Ashburn. Das Hotel selber ist sehr schön, liegt aber leider an die Ecke zu Cromwell Street. Entweder hat man das Fenster geschlossen, und es ist zu heiss, oder man öffnet das Fenster und hat 24 Stunden Verkehrslärm. Die Lage ist ansonsten sehr gut, da nur 3 Minuten zu Fuss bis zur Ubahn Gloucester Road (Piccadilly, […] Circle und District Line). In unmittelbare Nähe hat es gute Restaurants, u.a. "The Green Door", ein ausgezeichnetes Steakhouse. Das Zimmer war ziemlich klein, und wir hatten fast zu wenig Platz für 2 Koffer.Im Badezimmer war zu wenig Abstellfläche und die Schubladen waren defekt.Der Teppich im Zimmer ekelte uns.Das Frühstückszimmer ist recht klein und ab 8.30 Uhr haben oft nicht alle Gäste Platz, die frühstücken wollen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.Der Aufenthalt war zweckmässig, aber wir empfanden die Preis/Leistungsverhältnis als nicht gegeben. Das Hotel ist recht teuer (sogar für London), und man dürfte mehr Komfort erwarten.Wir waren nun zum 2. Mal im Ashburn. Das nächste Mal suchen wir ein ruhigeres Hotel. Mehr

WIr waren sowohl mit der Lage nahe Regent Gardens sehr zufrieden, als auch mit der Sauberkeit und dem Komfort des Hotels. Das Frühstück war ein gutes Continentalbuffet, nicht sehr gross, aber gute Auswahl. Das Personal war besonders freundlich, hatten das Problem, dass einer von uns krank wurde und wir vor dem Abflug nicht rechtzeitig aus dem Zimmer […] konnten. Auch hier war es kein Problem, noch bis Nachmittags zu bleiben, ohne Aufpreis und das Frühstück durfte ich mit auf das Zimmer nehmen. Alles zusammen: Ich würde dort jederzeit wieder übernachten! The Hotel is really cute and elegant, the room is always clean and sufficently large to enjoy a comfortable stay for two people (same review for the bathroom!! always clean!!)!! I really appreciate the welcome glass of Champagne at our arrival and the daily gift + newspaper we always find in the room when we come back in the afternoon!! Gloucester road […] Tube station is really few steps from the hotel and this means that all in London is easy and fast to be reached!! Really GOOD accomodation!! Mehr

My fiancee and I stayed at this hotel for the last few days after visiting family to prepare for our flight home. After we arrived, we were upgraded to a very large room (for London or any standards) with a gorgeous bathroom. This hotel exceeded my expectations and will be the first hotel choice for me next time in London.

The Ashburn is just around the corner from the underground (Circle, District and Piccadilly lines.) Staff were exceptionally courteous, professional and helpful. Complimentary champagne in the evening; delicious and very good selection for breakfast. Kensington is a marvelous area and a wonderful choice of locale as its still in zones 1 and 2 on the […] tube. Also, consierge recommended Olive, a superb Italian restaurant on Gloucester Road and we were not disappointed! Mehr

Great hotel, decent size rooms, showers, and great amenities. Very close to the tube and near some good pubs and restaurants. THe only problem we ran into was our heat did not work and we had to get a space heater that night as it was cold in our room in December. BUt overall service was great.

Not everything was what I was expecting from a boutique hotel. Forniture looks cheap and the the hotel needs a "refresh" in order to be at 4stars standard. Good location and the staff is friendly. Breakfast is also good but not a huge variety of food is available. Good for business stay and weekend with family, but would not recommend for a romantic […] escape. Mehr

Great hotel. Very attentive staff. The only issue was that the air conditioner was not working. As we arrived during the hottest spell of the summer it was very warm our room. When we reported this to the staff they did try and organize something by giving us a fan. When checking out after our 5 night stay we mentioned it agin to the concierge and he […] told us that the air-conditioning for the whole hotel was broken. It would have been nice to have had a small note put in our room to let us know this and to inform us that they were unable to fix it straight away. We now stay at the Ashburn whenever we come to London. This year we had three separate stays there as we flew into London, then traveled to Scotland and back to London before flying to Oslo then back to London again after touring Norway. It's fabulous! Great service, luxurious rooms, fantastic breakfast. They gave us room upgrades without asking when […] they weren't fully booked. South Kensington is a terrific neighborhood. The concierge was very helpful. If force to make one criticism, it would be that the carpets were soiled in spots. Otherwise, it was spotless. Mehr

Very good service, excellent location, free internet in the room 24 hours a day. Value for money.

I stayed for the first time for one night. It was late and I was tired and thought address was 100 not 111 Cromwell. Called and got directed, and met at the door outside by maitre'd....great first impression. Sign in was at small personal desk..very nice. Then cozy lift to 5th floor room, which is pictured on website, with the alcoved ceiling. Great […] room. Comfortable size room; comfortable bed. Very nice bathroom; good sized and modern, with speakers hooked from tv, so can listen while getting ready. Mini-refridgerator, no mini-bar, no loss. Great closet space and a safe. Just needed one more chair in the room, as only had one. Nice tin of mints as a gift, plus bottled water, and newspaper. Only wish for a choice of softer pillow; which may be available, but did not ask. Very nice bar area. Breakfast included, but not able to get to have it or see dining room. Check out was easy, with plenty of staff on hand to assist. An excellent hotel overall. Will stay again when looking to book in this centrally located area of London. Mehr

I had stayed at the Ashburn once before. This time, when I arrived I learned that there was a problem (a water leak or something) and they had to move me. They were very accommodating: offering me refreshments, booking a suite for me at a nearby hotel, and paying for a taxi to move me there and take me back to the tube the next day. Our stay at the Ashburn Hotel was comfortable. It is a smaller hotel and the staff are all efficient and friendly. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The only thing we were not happy with was the breakfast. It was a basic continental breakfast. If you wanted a cooked breakfast there was an extra cost. When paying for our hotel it stated that breakfast […] was included so we presumed it was a cooked breakfast. This was the only hotel in the UK where we stayed at that didn't offer a full breakfast. Extremely friendly staff and a convenient location. Only a 4 minute walk to the underground. My wife enjoyed our stay and their hospitality.

I spent 3 nights at the Ashburn Hotel with my 10 year old son in June. It is a 5 min walk to Gloucester Road tube staion and a straight shot to Heathrow on the pcadilly line. The room was very well appointed with toiletries and a refrigerator . The concierge, Steven, was particularly helpful with everything from arranging taxis to dining suggestions […] and even obtaining tickets to various attractions..the neighborhood is safe and covenient. This hotel was a great bargain for its location. The breakfast, included in the room rate, was lovely and very convenient. A downside to this hotel was the AC. We were there in May when it wasn't hot, yet we had difficulty keeping the room a comfortably cool temperature. The AC consisted of a portable unit vented out the window, necessitating the window […] being partially open and allowing street noise and outside heat in. Not sure how warm it would get in the summer months but wouldn't want to find out. Location to tube was excellent. Giant Hilton across the street with blaring green sign was an eye-sore. I got one of the largest rooms which was very clean and nice overall, but the bed was pretty hard and their carpet choice appears to be dated even though I don't think it's old (it's kind of a shag/long style). Staff were very accommodating and helpful as I couldn't figure out how to turn on the shower or which direction was "on" for the switches/outlets (some switches are on when pushed up and others you push down instead, so there is no rhyme or reason). I hatr to give this gem such a great review as | would like to keep it my secret. Great service, friendly staff, excellent room (with frig!!) conventient to Tube station. wonderful restuarants nereby. Would not hesitate to stay here again. Only down side was very firm pillows. Would have liked at least one soft pillow.

My husband and I have stayed here a number of times. For me it is the perfect London hotel. It is close to transportation and is an easy shot to Heathrow. The surrounding area has a great choice of restaurants and bars. Major attractions such as Hyde Park and museums are within easy walking distance. However, the best part is the staff. We stayed at the Ashburn from March 27th through April 2, 2011 an found the hotel and services excellent. We especially appreciated that they allowed an early check-in (we landed in Gatwick at 7:00 a.m. Sunday). Our room was smallish but comfortable, with luxury touches evident everywhere. Best of all is the location - just a block and a half from Gloucester […] station, with access to all of London! Would definitely recommend to others, and will stay there again. Mehr

The room was very small, but that is quite common in London. The bathroom was a decent size, but sink didn't drain properly in the sink. It was great to have a good breakfast and wireless included in the price.

This was a fabulous little botique hotel, in a great neighborhood in London. Very convenient to tube stop, Starbucks, pub, grocery store, and other ammenities. Neighborhood is very residential but close to everything via the subway. Able to take the subway directly to Heathrow without changes. My partner and I spent a wonderful two nights at the Ashburn hotel. The staff were very helpful, the location was central and most importantly, the room was very quiet. An excellent breakfast was also supplied, which was an added bonus. I would thoroughly recommend the Ashburn hotel, especially if you want a good night’s sleep after a long journey.

The Ashburn is a very incredible place to stay. The people who run it are friendly and always willing to help. The location is just one block from the Gloucester "tube" and there are several good places within walking distance to shop and eat. Hotel is ideally situated. Close to a tube station which is on the same line as the Heathrow stations. Plenty of dining options in the area. Also, Kensington Gardens, the Royal Albert Hall and the Victoria and Albert museums are about a 15 minute walk away or one tube stop. The staff are very friendly and helpful. A very nice hotel in a great area. Two blocks to the Gloster Rd subway. Close to restaurants and shops. Airconditioned room are nicely appointed. Different sized rooms depending on availability. Breakfast was continental, but you could order hot items at an additional charge. Taxes added a lot (over 100 dollars) to the total bill.

We loved the Ashburn. It is intimate, clean, and friendly, and the location is great. The food and service at breakfast were wonderful. We have only one complaint--we couldn't control the room temperature, and we found it to be warm. We were able to open the windows a few inches and that took care of the problem. 4 pound trip from LHR to Glouster Rd Tube station which is 1 block from hotel. Great neighborhood with store, pubs,post office, laundry and restaurants with 1-2 blocks. Walking distance to harrod's and museums. Good breakfast included. Free WiFi. Outstanding employees..Very helpful and knowledgeable.

We booked a Superior room for one night as we were visiting someone at a nearby hospital. The hotel is very close to Gloucester Road tube station. When we checked in we were upgraded - our room was large with a huge bay window and a big bed, sofa, armchair, coffee table and 2 flat screen tvs, plus a large bathroom with a bath with shower over. The […] room was very comfortable and smart, the bed was very comfortable and the lighting was good. The breakfast buffet was excellent: choice of pastries, cheeses, meats, cereals, fruit salad, toast and preserves, etc. and good coffee. All the staff were friendly, helpful and professional. Although not the cheapest of hotels, it was worth the extra. A couple of downsides: no parking, although that's not unusual for London hotels. Turning up the air conditioning in our rather chilly room seemed to make no difference. The glass of free champagne is only offered between 7 and 8 pm (we arrived at 9pm!). Mehr

We spent three nights at the Ashburn the third week of July. When we arrived at the hotel we were very impressed with the hotel and the small staff. We were taken to a beautiful, well appointed room and were very pleased until we found out that the air-conditioner for our room (and several more rooms) was not working. The hotel was full, so we spent […] two very warm nights in our beautiful room. There were windows but the noise and fumes from the traffic below made it almost impossible to get a good nights sleep. We were told that it was being worked on but they didn't know when it would be fixed. The third morning the receptionist stopped us and told us they would move us to another room that was air conditioned if we would pack our luggage. The room was smaller, but still very nice and so nice and cool/cold. The breakfasts were very, very nice. I would stay here again, but maybe not in the summer - just in case. Mehr

A good location for staying in london but did not expect to be in basement room below street level at high hotel cost and having chosen hotel based on previous reviews. Hotel had lovely big flat screen tv but to use same would cost ten pounds. Not impressed. Breakfast ok.

Mysigt mindre hotell med hjälpsam service. Något små men fina rena rum. Bra läge nära underground Glocester Road samt Hydepark, men lite tråkiga kvarter precis nära hotellet.

Ashburn Hotel is not a palace but its staff is very very nice, available and welcoming. The location is fairly covenient but Cromwell Road is a 4 ways road...
