"Gutes Hotel in sehr guter Lage"
Bewertet von einem Hotels.com-Gast am 23. Feb. 2013Das IBIS North Point liegt wirklich direkt an der Metro-Station North Point (1 Minute zu Fuß). Auch die Flughafenbusse halten quasi direkt vor der Tür. Somit ist die Lage wirklich erstklassig. Die Zimmer sind sehr klein, allerdings nicht zu klein. Wir hatten zu zweit ausreichend Platz. Das Bett ist etwas kurz, jedoch noch akzeptabel (ich bin 1,93 m groß). Leider sind die Betten bretthart, hat uns eher an eine Gefängnispritsche erinnert, als an ein richtiges Bett. Von daher Abzug in der Komfortnote. Zimmer war ansonsten recht sauber, die Servicekräfte freundlich und das Restaurant war auch nicht schlecht. An den Aufzügen muss man wirklich manchmal etwas länger warten.

Wan Chai ist ein wohlhabendes Viertel, in dem sich das Convention & Exhibition Center befindet. Den Besucher erwarten hier eine gut etablierte Kunstszene sowie eine Vielzahl von Restaurants, Geschäften und Unterhaltungseinrichtungen. Des Weiteren gibt es Mah-Jongg-Zentren und interessante Bars zu entdecken. Während sich in der Tai Yuen Street ein Spielwarengeschäft an das nächste reiht, kann in der Johnston Road und in der Luard Road Kleidung günstig erstanden werden. "Ein gutes Hotel!"
Sehr kleine Zimmer aber typisch für HK. Sehr nettes Personal, Zimmer jeden Tag wieder sehr ordentlich hergerichtet. Die Klimaanlage ist etwas laut wenn man sie angeschaltet lässt, dies war jetzt im Winter nicht unbedingt erforderlich. Aussicht aus dem Hotelzimmer zeigt Hinterhöfe anderer Wohn-Hochhäuser (ich war in der 6. Etage). Frühstück (kostet extra) […] bietet eine Gute, nicht nur Asiatische Auswahl und war lecker. "Das Hotel liegt mitten in WanChai"
Die Lage des Hotels ist zwar mitten im quirligen Wan Chai, man hat aber von dort sehr einfachen Zugang zu den Bussen, der Straßenbahn und auch der Fähre nach Kowloon. Uns gefiel die Lage sehr gut, denn man ist dort mittendrin in der Stadt, mit vielen Geschäften, Restaurants etc in der Nähe. We stayed for five nights on the Premier Floor with club acces. This was well serviced with a great bar for happy hour and afternoon teas. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The buffet breakfasts were exceptional with very polite staff. Our rooms were well maintained and regularly serviced by very nice staff. Good location and good price. My only complaint would be that I booked my room on line and it stated "Free Internet" - when I checked out they charged me 140 HK dollars for one night of internet. I reminded them that the room said "free internet" and their answer was - "the free internet is only in the lobby" - misleading I think. Front of house staff really not very approachable. It's really good when staff greet you when you enter and leave the hotel each day - particularly when you're staying a while. In the eight days I was there I had a great check in experience, but thereafter I may as well have been invisible to foyer staff. No one opened a door, no one spoke to me unless […] I spoke first. It is a hotel close to everything. You can find eateries ranging from very cheap to five-stars within walking distances. You can walk to shopping districts like Causeway Bay in 10 minutes, or catch the MTR to Admiralty or Central in 5 to 10 minutes. Wanchai (where the hotel is) is mainly a residential area but it links between the business area(Central) […] and the shopping precinct(Causeway Bay) by buses, trams and the renowned MTR. It is extremely convenient for those who want to get some bargains yet want to stay away from the crowds when they go back to the hotel for a rest. The rooms are a bit small, but are well equipped. An excellent centrally located hotel. Stayed here dozens of times now. They appear to make little revonations and improvements here and there to keep it nice. A busy neighbourhood with tons of pedestrian traffic which tells you that you are near the centre of something. The Hotel Staff was nice and friendly. The room was very small as compared to other Novotels I have stayed in. The Italian restaurant is very nice, loved their Pizza. "Reasonably priced hotel on Hong Kong Island"
I booked an Executive Premier Floor Room. However, the room was very small and would be too small for two people (I did hear one couple ask for a larger room as the one they had been allocated would not accommodate their luggage). The room did have free internet access, free newspaper and access to the Premier Lounge on the top floor where breakfast, […] afternoon tea and evening cocktails were served, all included in the room price, . The Concierge Desk on the ground floor is near the rear entrance where I think most of the coach parties must arrive. This means one has to sort out one's own taxi (most drivers do not speak English) at the front entrance. The Italian restaurant on the 1st floor was good as was the coffee shop on the ground floor. The high speed Airport Express to Hong Kong Island and shuttle service to and from the hotel worked well. MehrAuthentische Expedia-Gästebewertung

"Central in Central"
Have stayed here about six times in the last 10 years. I have always had good experiences here. And, the staff (front desk to the housekeepers) are very friendly which is not that common in Hong Kong! About three blocks to the Wan Chai metro station. Visiting the HK Expo and stayed at the hotel with convenient location walking distance to the site and other facilities around Lockhart Road. Hotel was ok, but rather unmanned at night times. A distinct gutter smell in the hotel lobby (perhaps coming from street outside) did not give a good impression. "Hotel ok but don't take the shuttle"
The hotel ambience was ok but the room was small and very minimally furnished. Location was convenient. The hotel shuttle from the airport was horrendously expensive at 140 RMB each person and the shuttle bus went to several hotels so it took a long time to get to our hotel - which was last. "A comfortable and well-situated hotel"
The hotel is well-located in the heart of Wan Chai and is a short walk away from Causeway Bay. I was upgraded to a junior suite which certainly made the stay much more pleasant. The suite had many extras which helped to make the short stay very memorable. The TV in the main room didn't work properly on the remote control but I overcame these issues […] through the buttons on the TV. The room was clean and well appointed, the bed was very comfortable and the staff were efficient without being obtrusive. I had breakfast at the restaurant, which while not being particularly cheap (Hong Kong prices I guess# was tasty with a large selection #Dim Sum as well as western food). The hotel location is not near any typical tourist attraction but it is close to all the public transportation. Hotel is surrounded by all type of stores and eateries but is mostly catering to the local.
