We had a wonderful stay!! The service was excellent from the moment we arrived until we checked out. We were able to spend a bit extra and opted for the Club room where the staff were very friendly and attentive. The room was very clean and a good size with a king bed, perfect for a couple. We had a lovely view from the 30th floor. In the Executive […] club rooms over looking the city and only a few steps away from our room, we had our daily breakfast, snacks and happy hour drinks with yummy appetisers. The location is close to a variety of transport options and only a short walk to Clarke Quay. It is in a very trendy, residential, ex-pat and very quiet area. Perfect if you like to sleep while on your holiday. The hotel is welcoming and comfortable, an oasis after a long day in the heat, but the staff are truly what makes this hotel stand out. Mehr

The Chambermaid forgot to put the shampoo, body gel, hair conditioner and lotion and I had to ring for room service.

Good location but a bit old

I arrived at the Copthorne at 9am and went to ask if I could leave my bags until check-in time. To my surprise the gentleman at reception was able to check me in immediately. He also asked the time of my outward flight and gave me a late check-out. The room was large, well decorated and in good condition. Checked-in on the 24th of Feb and was given a free upgrade from superior room to deluxe room. A pleasant surprise indeed. The staff are generally welcoming and friendly. Room was clean and modern, as what you would expect from a 5-star hotel. Would love to return to this hotel in future.

Sirvice was not so good. The lady at the reception did a very good job. The food provided by the roomservice was very very bad! Very good location with nice views. Breakfast: good.

I had huge expectations for this hotel as two different parties had recommended it. But it was a disappointment. We got a normal room that was ok, but the bathroom was very much out-dated. And not properly cleaned. Our tv did not work as the transmitter was missing and we had to ask it to be mended. In front of the hotel you can only get the more expensive […] taxis which is a drag. The location of the hotel is not too great, it is a 20-minute walk from the closest metro station. The sister hotel Studio M is with a better location, much nicer rooms and a much nicer pool area. Go for that instead of Grand Copthorne Waterfront if you wish to stay in a Millennium hotel. Mehr

I stayed here for 4 nights and 5 days with my family and generally the hotel was very good. The room was clean, the concierge was super helpful and the free hotel shuttle took us to all of the popular attractions of Singapore. What ruined a very good experience was in the last 2 days of being at the hotel. We had brought travelers cheques with us to […] use however none of the stores and even 2 banks would accept it so we had to change it to cash at the hotel front desk. Obviously, being a hotel and not a money exchange, the exchange rate was lower than what we would get normally however we knew that and proceeded with the exchange anyways. Everything went fine until later that night we arrived back at our hotel room after a day of shopping to find a note from the hotel front desk regarding our currency exchange. As we were going to check out the next morning anyways, we decided to leave the note until the next morning as we had to check out at the front desk anyways. When we arrived at the front desk the next morning, the front desk agent had informed us that the agent who did the currency exchange had made a mistake and we actually owe the hotel more money. This meant that the exchange rate, as bad as it was, was even worse than we had bargained for. If we had known this from the start we wouldn't have made the exchange because it made the rate exceptionally awful. We told the agent that if we had known the rate was even lower than what we got, we wouldn't have made the exchange. The agent then proceeded to tell us that she could get our traveler cheque back for us, however we had already spent the cash. As the mistake was the agent's fault on the day prior, we refused to pay the extra funds. So with that poor experience fresh in our minds I then went to check out of the hotel. And to my surprise, the hotel actually charged me $30 more than what I had anticipated for one of the nights. I told them this was not what was quoted to me and they said there was nothing t Mehr

Great value - Near the great choice of bars and restaurants of the quiter Robertsons Quay but a short walk to the more boistrous Clark Quay etc. Service was excellent - room and condition of the hotel very good. Breakfast was varied and scored on both choice and quality. I'd definitely stay here again

Room is spacious, well kept. It is better if it come with a bath tub. The river view was great, especially in the night. The staffs made me felt like I am so important. Although the hotel itself is situated a considerable distance away from the main tourist area's of Singapore eg: Orchard Road shopping district, Chinatown and Little India, after a long day sightseeing, the luxuriously soft and comfortable king size bed was an oasis in the urban jungle of Singapore.

Though check in was efficient and friendly when I got to my room I discovered that I had been put in a non-smoking room when I asked for a smoking room. I called the front desk to complain. I am happy to report that I was offered another room a little later. As I went out my luggage was transferred to the new room by the staff and I picked up the new […] key later. On getting to my new room I found that the phone was not working. Consequently I had to go down to reception to sort out this problem. The phone was replaced quickly. So even though there were some problems they were sorted out quickly and in a friendly manner. Though the hotel is not in a very central area it is only a quick walk down to the Great World Plaza and a quick, inexpensive taxi ride to Scotts/Orchard Road. We found this hotel to be very convenient for our two night stay in Singapore. We were there for R&R to break our flights from Frankfurt to Australia. We were able to walk along the riverfront and find any number of places to eat and relax. After traveling through south east Asia for 3 weeks... It was a very welcomed and extremely comfortable stay... The staff are extremely friendly and made us feel very welcomed... The locality of the hotel in the heart of Singapores tourist area made it extremely easy for us to find cool restaurants and bars...

I had my mother and in-laws staying at the Grand Copthorne for three nights in early June 2011, and all three enjoyed their stay. Rooms are nice, clean, comfortable, and sizable for Singapore, plus they enjoy good views. While the location at the Singapore River is nice, it is difficult to access by public transport, and getting a taxi can sometimes […] be a hassle, especially when it rains. Note that some taxi drivers confuse the Grand Copthorne with other hotels nearby, so best show the cabbie your keycard, which contains name and address. The cafe in the lobby is badly overpriced--avoid! The Great World shopping mall is nearby (5 mins. walk) and has several coffee shops and restaurants. Mehr

Excellent staff. Well located for walk (20-20 min) via river or ferry to downtown Singapore. Executive Club rooms great value and equal to 5 star standard. Fifth stay at this hotel.

I can't fault this hotel - it looked good online when I took a virtual tour before booking and it didn't disappoint. I spent three very enjoyable days in Singapore and was very happy to come back to a comfortable, clean room with all the modern conveniences, friendly helpful staff and a good choice of places to eat, in the hotel itself and within walking […] distance - especially welcome after an exhausting day out. Despite supplementary costs, tax etc, being added to the service bill when checking out - it was worth it. Excellent location by the river and easy access to all places of interest. This hotel delivers quality and good value, although it's at the end of the 'beaten track'. The location is a kilometre further away from the city than its main competitors, but if you enjoy strolling by the river, stopping off for a drink and a meal on the way at Clarke Quay or Boat Quay, then this hotel is definitely worth considering. Internet fees […] are outrageous, but there are multiple bars nearby that offer free connection while you enjoy a cool beer. The room was pleasant with good views over the river to the city beyond. The nearest MRT station is a solid 15-minute walk but just a $5 cab ride away. The buffet breakfast was excellent, with a choice of fruits, breads and cooked items. Really had a lovely enjoyable stay at this hotel. Room was very comfortable and spacious for myself. Room was clean. Used the gymnasium. It is small but there are variety of machines. Had breakfast and there is plenty of variety of food to choose from. Service at the desk and front house was very good. Right on Singapore River which was lovely to walk […] along to the restaurants and nightlife of Clarke Quay. Also very pleasant to walk along in the morning. Very enjoyable stay. Courteous staff. Nice hotel with view of Singapore River. Walking distance of Clarke Quay. Some visitors to local nightclub nearby can be very rowdy however, the hotel doors are quite secure. Food at the hotel restaurant is expensive.

The hotel met our expectations and was ideal for a 3 night stop-over. The swimming pool was ideal for unwinding on day 1. The situation was pleasant and the staff were helpful. Would recommend.

The hotel is walking distance to the Raffles and many great shops. There are many eating places close by if you want to eat away from the hotel or if eating at the hotel you can just stroll along Clarke Quay and stiop form coffee, a drink orm icecream. It was nice not to be too closed to Orchard Road where it is very hectic.

The hotel room we received was disgusting. Moldy shower and mold around the top of the inside of the sink. A 4 star hotel, it was NOT. We did complain and the manager did move us to another room and was very sorry about the situation. If the problem was not rectified it would have ruined the vacation. The bartender in the bar did not know anything about […] making a dirty martini, which was on the menu. $20 martini and it was half full and all olive juice. Greta place to stay as its very close to everyting and very central to say the least. The rooms are a bit on the smaller side. the attitude of each and every person I spoke to at the hotel was great and service was great as well. My only grouse was with the check in desk. While I understand that an early check in works only sometimes, the least the […] people there can do is to be courteous to guests who have traveled through the night with a 2 year old child. The person I met at the front desk was extremely arrogant and acted like he was doing us a favor by checking us into the hotel. No smile and no welcome at all. Quite Location but close to everything, bars and nightclubs within 1km, Metro station approx 1 km, buses on doorstep, all you can eat breakfast cost $30 singapore dollars (plus tax) includes western and local cuisines

Having a week with my kids meant that having two adjacent reasonable size rooms was good, as was the buffet breakfast to fuel up for the day. Staff were always helpful and the rooms were kept very clean. My only gripes would be that it's a long hike to the MRT for kids (altough we taxi-ed everywhere, swift and inexpensive) and a 70 SGD bill for 3 soft […] drinks, a beer and some nachos - our only venture to the bar. the hotel was very nice. It is worth the money and I will definetly stay there again as I go to Singapore 5-6 times a year. The food is very expensive but the bar menu during happy hour is good and affordable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Singapore as the location is convienent and taxi's are easy to get.

I felt this hotel by Sigapore service standards needed improved service. The room was always clean but was on the small side and looking a littel tired Location was good for riverside walks but too far out for the sites and shops and transport was more difficult Breakfast service was poor.
