Das Hotel liegt dicht an viel befahrenen Straßen - trotzdem wird man in keiner Weise durch Verkehrslärm belästigt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, die Zimmer höchst angenehm - Dinge, die ich als "Vielübernachter" in einem Hotel dieser Art nicht unbedingt gewohnt bin. Another comfortable stay at this convenient hotel.

The hotel is ok, a bit old style for my taste, i rxpect more modern commodities but very clean, huge bed, we did not use the baby cot and in general a good experience.

Reasonably nice hotel & facilities but what hotel doesn't give free wifi these days?? Bit of a trek into city but right on a retail park. Hotel needs some updating.

We stayed at the Copthorne cardiff as we'd travelled a distance to see an event at the Cardiff Arena. Staff very helpful couldn't do enough to make our stay welcoming. We would use it again.

We have stayed in this hotel many times over the years and it is now our preferred choice when visiting Cardiff. It is a comfortable and convenient place to stay as an alternative from staying in the City Centre. The hotel is excellent and efficient in responding to email requests and the rooms are comfortable and the breakfast good.

The hotel is dated and is lovely when you walk into reception but the rooms really need redecoration. The kingside bed ended up being two single pushed together so wasn't comfortable as I was there with my partner and our 4week old baby. It is a great location for us but I don't know if we will stay there again.

Great breakfast

The Copthorne is looking a bit dated now but at rates through Hotels.com that make it cheaper than the Premier Inn and it is on the bus route to see our friends, we really cannot complain! Breakfast is not cheap so we have never eaten it - McDonalds if over the road, as is Tescos and Marks and Spencers so you have loads of alternatives. Its about 15/20 […] mins into town on the bus or the same time frame into Cowbridge - a lovely market town with great shops and lots of places to eat. Mehr

I went to this hotel with my girlfriend as a 'treat' as there was a reduced price on the 'junior suite'. We have stayed here before in a standard double and were quite disapointed by how out dated the room was. This time we hoped it would be far superior as we went with the upgraded room. However we were sorely disapointed to find that it's not just […] standard that needs a complete refurb, but all the rooms and suites. First and last impression of this hotel is that it needs some serious refurbishment if it is to compete with other hotels in the area. On a plus side however, the staff are more than willing to bend over backwards, its just a shame about the out of date decor. Mehr

Very nice Hotel if you want to stay in Cardiff, the rooms are big with all the amenities you require. Trouser press, Ironing board, fridge etc.. We have been there a few times and normally go into town (St Mary's Street) the taxi is about £12 each way. You can get a hotel nearer to the centre but is a lot more money and parking is £14 a day, it is […] free parking at this hotel so works out cheaper this way. Have never had breakfast as it's fairly expensive but there is Burger King and Macdonalds within walking distance if you are that hungry!! The hotels pool is really nice with sauna, steam room and hot tub. Cannot really fault this hotel for the price we got it and will be returning when we are in the area. Mehr

Staff as pleasant as ever, quiet room with a comfortable bed and a view over the adjoining lake. However could hardly see through the window for bird poo. Apart from being caked down the glass, it was piled up on the sill outside to the extent that it would have at least half filled a bucket. As our room was situated at the end of the lake, we could […] see all the other windows overlooking the lake had similar splashes! all over the glass, although their sills were not as bad as ours. On complaining at reception we were advised that windows were cleaned regularly "it was just the birds" Apart from the dirty windows, hotel looked in need of a refurb generally. Fixtures in room & bathroom worn & dated looking. Toilet rolls appeared to be rationed & certainly were not a product from the "market leader". The snacks & sweets vending machine at the end of the corridor had such old mints in there, they were discoloured and tasted foul. Buffet breakfast was what seems to be the norm from 4 star hotels these days. Make your own toast & help yourself from hot food containers that don't adequately keep the food hot. By the time you sit down with your cooked breakfast, the bacon is covered with congealed fat, everything is only luke warm & the toast you made before you grabbed the hot food is now cold! I guess they would have to employ more staff to provide table service with a freshly cooked breakfast! I would suggest you try Tesco across the road for your breakfast while staying here. Apart from these negatives, hotel comfortable & in a good location with a large retail park across the road. Good if you want somewhere quiet & wish to avoid the noise of Cardiff city centre. Millenium hotels need to get their act together & restore this place to it's former glory. Mehr

I chose the copthorne as wanted a location not in the middle of a city centre but within close reach for restaurants. Love Cardiff so will definately go again but may get the train later and stay in more of a city centre location as a taxi at night cost £15 each way. Cardiff bay lovely and well worth a visit. Copthorne perfect for people not really […] wanting to leave the surrounding area as nothing really there. Can't comment on the food, as didn't eat there, gym, sauna etc bit small but clean with friendly staff. Mehr

The stay was perfect. the standards here are beyond words. Accomodation, food, parking, staff and all other aspects were of an incredibly high standard. I look forward to my next stay.

We got a very price one night's stay at the Copthorne - we were visiting Cardiff for the Wales vs England ruby international. The hotel was easy to find from the M4, there was ample free parking and check-in was quick and efficient. The twin-bedded room was clean, comfortable and well -equipped. Found it strange to revert to a bulky old CRT television […] as most quality hotels have installed flat panels by now. The other deficiency was the lack of air-conditioning : true it was a warm night, but having to have the windows wide open meant that there was a fairly constant rumble of traffic in the background. It didn't prevent sleep, but a cooler room would have been more pleasant. We breakfasted at Tesco for £4.00 instead of the hotel's £12.95, but did make use of the very reasonably priced return coach travel for the match. Overall, a good. convenient and well-run hotel - we'll use it again for other internationals. Mehr

I found this hotel was very easy to get to and very relaxing once I got there. Nice change.

Good location next to large supermarket and M&S. Room a little dated but clean. Swimming pool and gym good. Overall as i got it at a good price very good value for money.

I stayed in the hotel to break my journey to Pembroke. Hotel was nice, breakfast was lovely but hotel is a little dated. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There are also a number of shops across the road which I was delighted to discover.

The room was clean, the staff were friendly and the hotel facilities (pool, sauna etc) were good. About a 10 minute drive from the centre of Cardiff / Cardiff Bay etc. I would definitely stay again and would be happy to recommend to friends.

Very good base for weekend stay just outside Cardiff, easy drive into city especially for the bay area (only some 5 to 10 minutes away.) No worries about parking, unlike many of the city centre hotels. Room was clean, tidy and spacious, only downside was that being on the car park side of the hotel the (few) people walking past could look into room. […] Good facilities at the hotel, including the gym, good sized pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. the hotel was lovely the staff were so helpfull and couldnt help you enough, the rooms were really nice and very clean. i would recomend this hotel and have to family and freinds. we would book this hotel on are next trip to cardiff and cant wait.

fantasic hotel for bargin price, however would NOT pay full price. Price did not include breakfest but was a superb deal. hotel room slightly dated but large, clean, comfortable with freindly staff. Leisure facilities fab and quiet (sunday night) no comment on food as did not eat in. would stay again

Pleasant, no problems, very good value for money- in fact cheapest hotel we have ever stayed in. Although wish breakfast was included in this. The macdonalds restaurant accross the road had alot of hoodies in it which actually were quite intimidating, the hotel is also miles away from Cardiff, not within walking distance at all. There were stag dos […] going on when we stayed who were noisy but luckily our room was a few up so we didnt get the brunt of it! Probably more suited for middle aged couples as the area is quiet and there were lots of older ladies in the restaurant dining, no twenties or thirtysomethings! TAKE YOUR OWN LOO ROLL THEIRS IS TERRIBLE!!!! Mehr

Booked a night for my boyfriend's 21st. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and made sure we had everything we needed. The room, although not the best view, was spacious, clean, with a warming atmosphere. The bathroom was nicely fitted, with a powerful shower and bath, which was great for just relaxing for the evening. We did not have food in […] the evening there, so I can't comment. However, we booked in for the breakfast which was lovely, seen to our seats and given coffee or tea. There was fresh juice available and the buffet style was nicely presented, with staff regularly topping up the food with freshly cooked meats. All in all, it was a nice stay, and quite at night so no sleep lost. Would stay again. Mehr

Copthorne Hotel Cardiff is a pretty good hotel, however, more like a good 3* than a 4*. Decent enough room, and nice pool/sauna/jacuzzi. In a big complex with several retail stores around.

....but the bar drinks were very expensive.

We were visiting my son in Cardiff and stayed for 2 nights the facilities were excellent as were the surroundings close to everything. Breakfast was good and very pleasing to deal with local people who staffed the hotel. Would definitely come back.
