This hotel is in top location right in the middle shopping district, close to all amenities and transport. Staff are extremely friendly and courteous. The flip-side of this location is that we had a street facing room on the first level which can be noisy at night with the pounding beat of night clubs and general public having a good time on the streets […] especially on a weekend. We stayed for a week. The housekeeping was sometimes a little late which meant getting back at 5pm and with our room just about to be cleaned, it was a little inconvenient if we wanted a rest and get ready to go out again shortly after. Considering their rates, the furnishings were quite limited, only beds, desk and desk chair. Housekeeping was about 4 p.m. and left some supplies out. Otherwise hotel was first class with excellent midtown locatiion.

This hotel was terrific. I would definitely stay there again. Was so close to everything I needed. Staff were very friendly and attentive on the phone. I loved our stay there.

Rydges Worls Square has a perfect location down town Syndney. Walking distance to many things and a Monorail station more or less in the hotel. But where did Rydges get it's stars from. There was a thin layer of dust in the entire room and a thick layer of dust where not too obviously detected. Small flies crawling out of the shower drain. Family rooms […] were all smookers rooms. No adapters available to borrow any day of the entire week (a minor problem as they could tell me where to buy one). OK personnel but no greetings when meeting in elevator or corridor. In general more like a 3 star serviced apartment type of hotel. Even if the price was OK and good location I would not stay at this hotel again. Mehr

Big,soft towels and a shower you don't have to run around to get wet may be small things but so important to us. The room lacked a small couch > had only one dining and one tub chair. All staff were excellent. Efficient and friendly. A suggestion.......instal a larger "shelf" in shower recess to hold shampoo etc instead of having to put items on fl […] oor. Mehr

The hotel was fine and in a great location. However, the advertised in house gym had poorly maintained and mostly broken equipment.

I saw neigbours have daily newspaper but none was given to me. Furthermore, you have to pay for washing machine $3 and Dryer $3 for each wash whereas in other hotel the facility is free. The only good thing is that for member you can check out at 1300hrs instead of 1100hrs.

Can't really say anything good about this hotel. Bad location, poor condition, no concierge (bell boys) and many mistakes on the invoice at checkout. See extensive review on tripadvisor.com

Enjoyed our stay at Rydges World Square. We had booked a family room as we had our 2 boys travelling with us. The family room was pleasant and its an ideal room when travelling with children as it has a interconnecting room so had plenty of space. We also had views of the busy Pitt St. Its Ideally located to Most of Sydney's attraction including Darling […] Harbour that's within walking distance , also transport was not a problem as its close to all transport connection including the Mono rail that has a station at the World square. Plenty of Café's, Restaurants, Convince stores nearby as well. Mehr

This hotel is in a superb location in Sydney. It's close to all public transit, Monorail, Trains, Buses etc. The hotel was very clean & quiet, However...the daily housekeeping was sub standard. Torn sheets were used in the bedding. We always had to ask for more in room coffee, tea, & milk. The room was never vaccuumed. One day the toilet tissue was […] not replaced with tha second roll, when the first dispenser was near empty. same with the Shampoo , soap & conditioner. I would tell others to stay here. Mehr

The hotel is situated in a great central location. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and noise-free.

To be honest I wasn't expecting much because the room rate was cheap, but was amazed by the friendliness of all the staff and very impressed by the beautiful room. The location is great, monorail station just outside the front door, very easy access to everything. Thank you for a great experience.

we upgraded so that we could have city views only to get a view of the roof and air conditioning motor of the building next to us, for the money we paid the room was basic, we have not been away for a long time and due to the special occassion we wanted to do something special so upgraded, it was a disappointment as it was a very standard room for the […] amount we paid. we could get better staying somewhere else. will not recommend this to others. I recently had to revisit Sydney for important business that lasted for 6 days. Found the otel online. Good rates, very convenient location and did the job for me. I also got the contract that I was there for. From a former Sydney resident, I would stay there again for sure.

The hotel is in the middle of the backpackers area, mostly Asian takeaway restaurants in the immediate area and crowded streets of people walking home trying to catch a cab past 3am. The Italian restaurant downstairs in the hotel did serve really good Italian food, no ambiance but good food. I have stayed in many hotels in Sydney and this one is really […] expensive for what you get, will never stay there again. Mehr

The guys that help us with the luggage are very nice. The things that was wrong with this hotel, we didn't get to check in to the hotell before 9.30. we were then told that we could have the room longer the day we were checking out. when that day came, we had to check out at normal time. we got two rooms, both were filled with smoke. my mom got a headacke […] and felt tired of that. to help us with that problem, we got some airfreshener on the carpets. also we should have been told that there was no breakfast included and that the internet is not worth paying 22 dollars for when it is so slow Mehr

Great location, very convenient. Staff was very helpful and courteous. We even extended our stay another 3 days at this hotel. Only negative, internet not included and internet fees seemed high.

The room was old, dust at panels and picture frames. It was booked to two persons, but was except from a king size bed, only made for one. Only one chair, only one bed lamp etc. The cleaning was not in order. Several complains later, it was only made a little better. They have been saving monay on maintaining and cleaning, and it shows. Unhelpful managers. […] Will NOT pay in advance again. NOT worth the price. And by the way. We did have a view to at wall and not the city. Mehr

hotel was very central to town, 10 min easy walk to circular quay, train stations near by.Over all a great place to stay staff were very friendly and professional. Looking arround our room the only thing that we were dissappointed with was the hair in the bathroom and the finger prints on the mirror.

We had family room on level 17. Room is dark. Family room has 2 bedrooms but no living space. Staff are very rude. Poor value for money. Moved to Meriton World Square (next door 20m apart) at same price, which had breath taking view, very spacious, airy, bright 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living and kitchen.

I couldn't have been happier with my stay Rydges! Great location, i walked everywhere!

This hotel has always been excellent whenever we stay with them. The staff are very professional and always helpful. The rooms are great. Spacious, with a very comfortable bed after a hard night of partying! Will always stay here everytime we go to town. Highly recommended.

I booked this hotel for my recent business trip. Location is quite central. There's a lovely sushi restaurant right at the corner of the hotel. Very fresh sushi and price reasonable. In general, has no major complaints except i feel that the service level can be better. Example: there's no 'Make Up Room' sign in the room and one of the bed lights […] was not working at all. I called to inform the House-keeping, unfortunately no one came over to check. Mehr

Central location made it very easy to get around without a vehicle. Room was very comfortable and all hotel staff we dealt with were great.

This hotel is in a very convenient location. Mono rail station just around the corner, although you don't really need to use it as the hotel is so central. We were upgraded from a superiour double room to a family room....what a treat! I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

We were very satisfied during our stay in this hotel. The only thing missing was the skin lotion in the bathroom(we forgot to bring one). It will be also good to have a mandarin tv when we get up early in the morning or watch tv before going to bed. We will go book again this hotel next time we go to Sydney. Regards Gabriel

Great hotel in the city.

An absolute delight to stay in, the staff, the room, location was excellent.

If you stay here, make sure you request a room in the courtyard. The street side can be very noisy. This is a hotel that was probably stunning in the early 90s, but could use some updating. Internet is very expensive. But the location cannot be denied.

clean room, professional staff, most of all excellent location. We stayed there for a weekend, but it was pretty noisy outside and still could hear from the room.

I chose this hotel because it's the closest to where I work. Not bad at all. You definitely get what you pay for. Hotel breaksfast was really nice and the service was excellent. Would definitely stay again. There's a lot of cafes and restuarannts downstairs as well as supermarket and pharmacy. Train station isn't far either, though it is quite far from […] the harbour. Mehr

Very good Hotel for the price, Very handy to everything took free bus from the near bus stop to see the opera house and 7 min walk to central train station. In the heart of city centre, Tour bus stoped in front of the Hotel for pickup. Avis car rental very close.

Apart from the initial man at concierge who was curt and dismissive, all other staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was ideally located and close to all the good food places. There were some biscuit crumbs on the carpet next to the beds initially, but the next day it was cleaned up with the regular room service. For those who visit Sydney for its rich culinary experience , and those who would not end their day at 6 pm.... Rydges World Square is the most ideal place to stay .... it nestled in World Square .... surrounds by every world restaurant imaginable .... and two big supermarket that close on 12 midnight ..... Some even 24 hours supermarket and cafes .... […] you would never have a chance to starve in this area...... The hotel itself is well maintained, fast and effective staff, very nice concierge guys ....everything is just right ... ohh and the hotel coffee shop is lovely .... would love to stay in Rydges World Square again on my next visit to Sydney Mehr

We enjoyed the couple of days at Rydges, we found the staff very helpful when we needed it and as we were in Sydney for a convention loved the fact that the restaurant offered 'Breakfast on the run' which was both cost effective and time effective! Will stay there again.

Lovely people, exceptionally helpful. The hotel needs an upgrade. There was mould in the bathroom. I wouldn't rush back to stay there again.

One reason we picked Rydges Sydney was because our room was advertised as being on a fairly high floor in the building so there would be a view and was a "premium" room. Not true. The second floor of the building is floor 12, so each floor level is falsely elevated by 10 stories. Our room was far down a winding hallway, it felt like there must be 1000 […] rooms. The gym is tiny and stuffy, one laundry machine serves the entire building if you want to do your own. Room service was rather poor except for breakfast. When we checked in the laundry was dirty and we had to have it changed (and I mean BLACK). Also the television is terrible - few channels and it took about 5 minutes to turn on. Would recommend staying somewhere else. Pay extra and get a room near the harbor or stay out of the city altogether and just go there for a day. Mehr

Really good hotel in a great location in the upper part of the CBD. Service was excellent and room comfortable and clean.
