It's a nice hotel. Nothing fancy, but clean & comfortable. The hot breakfast is definitely a plus. I would definitely stay again if I'm in the Madison area.

"Met Expectations and then some"
Was a great value. Friendly staff, clean hotel. Cookies, happy hour, good spread at breakfast with plenty of food. Nice location on bike path that was about 1 mile to ride to downtown area along the lake. Nothing in the immediate location of the hotel, but all within a 5-10 min drive of zoo and downtown.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was good and staff helpful with driving directions.

The locaton was wonderful and convenient to everywhere we needed to go in Madison. The reservation desk personnel were alway helpful and pleasant. We would definitely stay there again.

"Okay for a quick business junket"
Pretty dull, but clean hotel in an unappealing area. Good access to highways and only 20 minutes from the airport. You will be driving away to do anything beyond McDonalds.

location was good,but the room and hotel were dingy and beginning to look rundown,tile on our bathroom floor was dirty and bedspread smeeled horrible,we took it off the bed and threw it in a corner.breakfast buffet food was good but there was too small a quantity put out at a time for the number of people eating,we spent more time waiting for addt'l […] food than we did eating! "comfortable and friendly hotel in Madison"
More convenient to the city center than many hotels in Madison, reasonable priced, very nice pool and hot tub with sunny windows. Breakfast was above average for similar breakfast included hotels. Staff was very friendly with good recommendations for food (tip: wonder bar for steak very near). My dog was welcome, in room coffee was nice (some hotels […] don't have that when there is breakfast). Beds were fine as well Mehr
"Madison HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS"
I would have to say for the money it isn't a bad place, although we hit it on a bad week to stay there with a State Wrestling and Swimming tournament going on, so it was a bit noisy. Also, the doors of this hotel slam shut very hard creating a very loud noise at all hours of the day and night. This was probably the worst of it, also the walls are thin […] and noises from adjacent rooms are easily heard. Not a great quality hotel but like I say, for the money it isn't bad. This was one of the worst Holiday Inn Express's I've ever stayed at. The Lobby stunk of Body Odor and the people who worked there weren't very friendly. I would look for another place to stay.

I usually enjoy staying at Holiday Inn Express. However I found this one to really have a bad BO Odor by the check in desk. It was there the whole time I was also. Also, the workers there were not very friendly, the woman that checked me in wasn't too bad. Other than those two issues, everything seemed up to par.

Every door that closed in the hallway sounded like it was mine and kept waking me up. I could hear conversations in the hallway. The room was clean but cramped, which is probably why there wasn't a fridge or microwave. "Express" is an accurate description, as everything, except the pool, seemed compact. It had one elevator for I believe 5 floors. I'm […] just happy I didn't pay the regular rate for this place and that it was for one night. This hotel was ok for the money we paid. However, the hotel lobby smelled musty.
"A very positive experience"
We had a great stay at the Holiday Inn Express Madison. The room was very comfortable, the pool/sauna was very nice. Breakfast was decent. They accept dogs, and the place is surrounded by trails: a bike trail out front, and behind (across the tracks) a hiking trail, very nice. It's out of walking distance from downtown, which is the only knock on this […] place, but hardly its fault. I would definitely recommend this place to someone looking for a place to stay in Madison. "Nightly happy hours"
This particular Holiday Inn Express was superb! Nightly they offered 2 free drinks in an effort to promote a social interaction or happy hour. They offered a small selection of appetizers and chips with dip and the TV's were turned on to sports games or favorite TV shows.
