Metropolitan Express - Orlando

Im Zimmer roch es ein wenig muffelig, ansonsten war es o.k.. Neu ist im neben dem Hotel-Pool, im ehemaligen Frückstücksraum, ein Pup, dies kann zu Lärmbelästigung von heimkehrenden Pupbesuchern führen.... Der Frühstücksraum ist nicht mehr vorhanden, (wegen Pup) es muss Draussen gefrühstückt werden....

I loved the location of the hotel. Service was not superior. I asked for extra towels and was told that someone would bring them to my room. After waiting over 30 minutes my husband went to ask again and only returned with 4 washcloths.

Pictures on the web site of the hotel room look nothing like the real thing. Room was tiny and felt dingy. Will not be back. Only positive was the location- right across from Wet n Wild and a couple blocks from Universal.

The front desk clerks were nice however the hotel is old and needs to be renovated.The shower water was nice and hot but too small and there is no elevator for the second floor.Hmmm what about disabled guests?

Need some renovation. Room was pretty clean, of course i always bring 2 sheets & pillow cases to any hotels i go to, 5 * or not, never trust them especially when i travel with my kids. I was really disappointed about the no fridge & microwave in the room because i needed 1 for my 1yr old's soy milk & prepared home food, i was mislead cuz the hotel info […] list said there's 1 in there. When i get in there i called front desk, lady said not all rooms have 1, i had to request it in my reservation. But she tried to help me find a room with 1 but couldn't find it, we gave up & used trash can with ice & water to seat the milk & food in, worked out fine. Mehr

Was staying overnight to be close to a meeting the next day. After reading reviews and saw people said it was nasty and had bed bugs I tried to cancel but was already past the cancellation time. Should have just given the money away. The room had a musty smell and the sheets had little knots on them. The A/C would only come on for about 3 minutes and […] would shut off for about an hour before coming on again. At 3:00 in the morning the smoke alarm started chirping. They are supposed to change the batteries twice a year but this one was painted to the wal and I had to cut it loose and the desk clerk came and took it out of the room. The next morning my wife had bug bites on her leags and back. I guess we had the bed bugs as well. Will never stay here again. Health department needs to investigate this place. Mehr

The room was very comfortable. Window had no screen but I liked having it open with FRESH air when we arrived. Nice to have microwave & fridge. halls were a bit dingy and the bathroom was showing some age but well cleaned in general.

The location was good, anything on International Drive is convenient to all types of activities. The hotel was definitely and older hotel. However when we entered our room, we were overwhelmed by a very stale smell. Parts of the hallway had a similar smell. The view from the window was of a wall with a generator or something in front of it. Luckily […] it was just an overnight stay and we were just looking for a place to sleep. It was fine for sleeping. The bed was comfortable. Compared to other hotels at this price point that I've stayed it, this one did not live up to expecations. Mehr

No coffee maker, shower diverter did not work, cheap towels, dirty overall.

It was alright

First night was terrible. The room air condition broke so had to change the room. The hotel do not have a elevator and carry big luggage was exhausting.

This hotel was scary. It looked like nothing had been upgraded since the early eighties. The carpet was dark and the room was dank. There was the smell of mildew throughout the hallways and in our room. The shower head and faucet were not secured to the wall. This was partially addressed after 3 requests. The air conditioner was loud and made strange, […] erratic, high pitched noises then would cut off unexpectedly. This was not condusive to restful nights. The bed was uncomforable and the fridge did not seal closed properly. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It was inexpensive for a reason, Mehr

It was adequate for our needs and comfortable. Good shower and hot water. Breakfast was acceptable and sufficient.

We needed an inexpensive place to sleep for the night. Metropolitan Express exceeded our expectations for an older hotel. The pool was clean, heated and relaxing. The location was central but not too noisy. For the price, we would stay there again.

Carpet is nasty, my shower didn't drain and the faucet was broken. Hotel staff act inconvienenced when spoken to or asked for directions or assistance. Pool and "Tiki" bar is a very inaccurate description as well. Highly discourage anyone from staying here.

The hotel was just fine for our one night stay. We were awaiting the arrival of friends due to land the next day after us. Staff helpful and the hotel was within walking distance of a range of places to eat. I felt comfortable walking around and the room was clean with the added bonus of having a buffet breakfast included within the price. Met 2 other […] couples enjoying a fortnights break at the hotel, which they had loved for the passed 4 years. Not sure if my ideal holiday just staying in one place but they liked it. For the money this hotel is fine, clean and in the middle of International Drive. Would book again. Mehr

if you can get pass the ghettoness then you'll have fun. the tiki bar was nice and the location was perfect considering the price it was a good spot. if you're not going to really be in the room the its perfect. everyone was nice to me because I was nice to everyone. I'll go again if I had to.

we had 2 rooms , second floor no elevator , one room was ok , clean better than the other one , but hotel needs attention , looks run down , one of the bathrooms the tiles were cracked and moldy the other room's bathroom was fair , pool was full of ducks swiming on the pool , breakfast was skimpy not enough toasters so you had to wait long time to get […] your bagel toasted , area was great we could even walk to the park we were going to.. and the location for restaurants was very convenient so unless you are to save money on your vacation i wouldn't recomment it Mehr

I had to book out of an emergencie an I found this.no elevator,corridor dirty ,really depressing. The room no so bad in cleaness,although furninure in bad condition. bathroom leaking,cheap towels,rough and old.parking kind of complicated,and the outside doors locks all broken.finally,in the morning 2ducks were swimming at the pool nobody intent remove […] them. This hotel seems to have had a glorious past and is conveniently located within an important low cost transport route.

Hotel staff was friendly. Hotel itself is run down, room was old, some mold was found and holes in walls were semi-patched. Not recommended if you have children.

I booked this hotel online I read the reviews after i booked and i must say i was worried..anyway, i will keep it short. Location : perfect for Universal and Wet n Wild. Hotel condition: grimey, run down, smelled stale everywhere, our room smelled like a bug bomb had been used recently, confidence booster that was i can tell you. No wirless except in lobby, no elevator, ice machines on ground floor didnt work , old dank and damp. Stunk. Shooting in the area two weeks before.

There was a wet spot on the carpet, and because of this there was a mildew smell in the room....

Hotel Metropolitan Express was OK for one night. I have seen better furnishings in a thrift shop. Only some of the lights in the room worked. Bed was comfortable.Would not stay there again.

hotel was in a good location but hallways smelled like moisture and rooms mattress were worn and carpets wet. Guess you get what you pay for. Would not stay there again,.

alls i have to say is this... while we were sleeping in the room about 2 hours after check in our door opened!!! i was a woke by my frantic girlfriend and i got dress and ran out of the room. i could not find anyone in the hall way seconds after the door was opened. i went to the front desk they told me it was house keeping making sure that all the […] rooms were booked. im not someone to complain nor ask for an upgrade or a free room. so i didnt. the only plus was the tiki bar... man that girl made one helk of a drink!!! The front staff was helpful but the hotel was subpar. Smelled marijuana in the hall. There was a baby running up and down the hallway around 3:00AM in the morning. Glad we were there only 1 night. Would not stay again or recommend to anyone over the age of 25 unless you are into those things.

The hotel was in desperate need of a renovation AND THE ROOM'S PHONE DIDN'T WORK. Room had no reception so cellular use was unheard of. Overall it served its purpose as a room for the weekend. I wouldn't book reservations here, unless everything else is booked.

Dirty halls, Ducks in the pool, no eggs for breakfast, toilet runs all the time, deoderizors in air conditioner, TV had static, back security door not locked etc.

If you are unable to pay more than this is a ok place to stay, however do not expect much. They seemed confused most of the time. They advertised happy hour, but the drinks were the same price all night. There was a small menu of food items, but they were out of most everything on it. Decent hotel with a good price, but that's all you get. a decent hotel with a good price. Nothing to speak of, but it's fairly close to the Orlando Convention center and the best price around. Clean but aged.

I was a little skeptical as this was a last minute reservation and the reviews were not the best, but I was very satisfied with my stay as so was my boyfriend and niece who came to see me while I was there. the only thing was that there was is no wi-fi in the rooms but if you need to disconnect this is the place and it is in a very good location where […] you can walk, get shuttles or public transportation to all the restaurants and attractions on I Drive. Completely satisfied with the service, the location, and the hazle free the check-in and check-out was. Employees very cooperatives... will definitively used it again!

The hotel is run down, although I will tell you the staff is very helpful and kind. A lot of rust in the room and little ants. Nothing that will kill you. If your looking for a bed and a shower for a quick trip this is the place to stay. Everything is around you in walking distance.

The Metropolitan Express was certainly not what we expected. For the price we paid we expected a much more pleasant experience. The staff associated with the local attractions located in the lobby was very unproffesional and called one of the regular staff an "alchie" referring to his knowledge of surrounding pubs. The pool was not heated as advertised […] and the side parking lot was creepy to say the least. Entrances that were only accesible by room keys were propped open with rocks allowing non guests access. Other than the multiple negatives, the tiki bar was fun and the bar staff was pleasant. Mehr

It was a very nice experience overall, check in/ checkout was very fast. We didnt saty in enough time to eat breakfast, but it smelled good as well as when i called for an iron, they we're there in 3mins. It was a great hotel and location for a great price!

Didn't clean room between days! Put us in a room facing highway even though motel was 1/2 empty and had quieter rooms. Plenty of hotels in this area. Don't bother with this one!
