Clarion Inn - Tucson

I've had great luck with hotels.com in the past, but this stay was a disappointment. The carpet in the room was so dirty, when I stepped into the tub, I left foot prints! The real give-away was when I followed the desk clerk down the hall as she was spraying Febreeze to get rid of the musty odor. I would not stay there again.

Room its self was OK, The Hotel was in need or repair. The room and the Hotel was not what you would expect for the price.

Walking distance to downtown. Breakfast was great, more than what you usually get!

This hotel was fine for a night's stay, but I was surprised that none of the other reviews I read mentioned that this hotel is RIGHT NEXT TO A MAJOR HIGHWAY. Not only that, there is a very busy frontage road next to the highway as well. It is definitely in a motel heavy area, just about every major budget hotel (HoJo, Super 8, etc) is there. My room was clean and comfortable. The pool was clean and well maintained. The fitness room was adequate for a workout. Overall a great value.

clean, but in a older area and older condtion of motel. some efforts to make nicer are seen but in older condition in older part of town. i probably would look for another alternative next year on our annual visit.

An older hotel, but comfortable and clean. My only complaint was the musty smell in the room.

Nice older holet, but there are no close amenities such as a grocery store, etc, for a late night necessities. Easy on and off to the freeway.

Hotel it convenient to freeways. The property is in need of make over. Landscaping is sadly neglected. Staff was friendly and competent. Did not feel that due to the condition of the property, that the accomodations were worth the price.

We were llooking for a reasonable place to stay for Presidents weekend. It was located close to where we visited. The room was very clean and the staff was great. We heard people from the upper room, but not too bad. I think it could have bben cheaper especially for the area. It was a place I would stay again. The hotel has previously been great and helpful staff. For some reason (I believe that management has changed) things are more unorganized, unpleasant and not as welcoming. Needless to say, we will not be going back there again.

I needed a hotel for a night for a concert. The front desk staff was nice and helpful. The hotel is older but they have been renovated. It was easy to find, right off the freeway.

A generally good experience. The breakfast was nothing spectacular, but no one would go hungry. A bit heavy on the carbs, as is typical of motel breakfasts. The room was a good size, the beds comfy. The bathroom showed a little wear, and we couldn't figure out how to turn on the shower and had to have someone come to show us. However, he was outside […] our door about 30 seconds after we called. Hotels with non-standard faucet arrangements should have printed instructions on how to operate them. For the price, it was excellent - would certainly stay there again. Mehr

Enjoy my stay at the Clarion Inn in Tucson,AZ. close to freeway. Would go back.

Awesome hotel. My only complaint was by the time I got to the lobby for breakfast the room was absolutely packed and all the food,juice and coffee were gone. Big buckets of butter and cream cheese totally empty. I have never seen anything like it and I'm a frequent traveller. I kinda thought if you checked peoples pockets you would find a stash of bagels […] or something. Other than that it was fantastic. Mehr

We were quote satisfied with our room. In fact, we stayed here another night on the return trip. This is one of the nicer low cost motels we have stayed at. There is a great little restaurant adjacent to the motel, and the motel has discount coupons too.

The hotel is ok, they spent a little money dolling it up but there are some aspects you can't make better - such as: The place is old and as such, the floors creek and so if you perhaps had the misfortune as we did to have what seemed like midnight elephant trainers staying the floor above you, you quickly discover it's impossible to sleep due the constant […] movement of people above. What kind of people walk around a hotel room 3 nights in a row from 8pm till 3am? Just how much is there to see in a room that you cannot see from the bed? Not the hotel's fault per-se but if it were a newer place, I imagine you wouldnt hear that noise. The staff was courteous enough but helpless to solve most of the things that make a stay unpleasant such as : pot smokers (smelled it in the hallway several times), tobacco smokers (in non-smoking room we were FIRST put into) and of course the circus act in the room above. The real deal is restaurant next door - flyers in the lobby of the hotel for bogo on dinner, breakfast or lunch - food ok and the price is stellar with the coupon.. in short - I wouldnt rush back but can't blame the hotel for the problems we encountered. Easily accessable from freeway. Very clean and effecient for travellers who are working. I will definately stay here again.

The hotel is located in a easy accessible place, right off the interstate. One proble I notice was, when i made coffee in the room in the morning, there was still a bag of coffee grinds in the coffee maker. Other than that I enjoyed our stay and I will stay there again in the future.

We paid grand opening price, which was a great price to pay and included continental breakfast with waffles. Stayed at Hotel next door before and would never stay there again, but would pay double to stay HERE!

Hotel was older, but appeared to be recently remodeled. Staff appeared busy, but was pleasant and helpful. The room was impeccably clean, with two choices of pillows. Wireless Internet worked well from the room. There were also several workstations in the lobby. There is a beautiful pool right outside our patio, an indoor Jacuzzi, and an exercise room […] with television. The exercise room could have been cooler, but towels were provided in the room. Breakfast included water, milk, orange juice, fresh waffles, bagels & cream cheese, muffins, 4 types of cereal, and boiled eggs. I would definitely stay there again when visiting Tucson. Mehr

A buddy and I traveled to Tuscon to see a football game. The hotels near the university that I checked out online were either high end or really cheap with poor reviews. The Clarion is about 3.5 miles from the University so not walking distnce but a quick drive. The rooms were very clean and well maintained. They may have been remodeled recently. […] There were very clean tile floors in the bathroom, fresh paint all around. The pool water looked clean, but there was some dirt on the bottom of it. It looked like maybe it just needs to be vacuumed more often. The staff at the front desk was very helpful and let me print my flight schedule on their printer. There was a young man attending the breakfast area who was very helpful and brought out fresh bananas as I went through. The freee wireless internet worked great. The TVs were old school but that was fine with me. Overall I'd stay there when looking for a value hotel, clean and well maintained! Mehr
