The room was alot smaller than I had expected. I was told that there was a pull out couch (that was not true). We stayed 2 nights, and both mornings the breakfast bar was not fully stocked or no food was available at all. I was quite surprised the breakfast was not complimentary. I had one strip of bacon and a small serving of eggs. This breakfast cost $8.51. It would be most helpful to share this information upon check-in.

Excellent place to stay on the cheap. Great location downtown, next to Pullman Square and the civic center, plus it's in walking distance to most of the bars. Super friendly staff and very clean both times we've stayed there.

Stayed their for a marathon so the location was good just a little over a mile from the start. I wasn't expecting a brawl just before 3am in the hallway but hotel staff and police took care of the matter as soon as they could. The front desk apologized, friendly staff. Most impressed with staff's friendly and helpful reception! Since I had a parking problem, Wayne from mainenance who overheard my complaints at the reception desk said his shift ends in 5 minutes and he will wait for me with his lights on so I could get his parking spot. Compliments to Wayne and staff!

This hotel, where I've stayed numerous times over the years, is getting "worn." The in-hotel breakfast, which is an out-dated, extra cost, was dreadful. Servers were unattentive and buffet was awful. Place needs a face-lift and more training in hospitality!

The Staff was great, front of hotel undergoing renovations so the appearance can be excused but the hotel needs to get in to the 21century, smoking rooms are not good. The only request I had was a non smoking room because I'm allergic to cigarette smoke and when I arrived I was placed on a smoking floor in a smoking room. The hotel is clean and well kept. However watch your credit card statement! I was billed twice - once by hotels.com and once by the hotel itself - due to a mistake by the front desk.

We were told we could not check in until 3:00pm, but our daughter's Master's commencement was at 2:00pm. After talking to a supervisor, etc., they did let us check in at 1:00pm. Because I had not activated my new credit card yet, they could not accept it, even though it was already paid through Expedia. I gave them my debit card, which they proceeded […] to charge twice. We are still trying to get that cleared up. There was a party from 3:00-5:30, but it was graduation, so we did not complain. Then the manager banged on my door at 7:00 am, to tell me this room is supposed to be empty. Twice (this is in less than 24 hours), we had to get our room keys redone at the front desk because they wouldn't open the door. Heard another man complaining of the same thing. The hotel room was dirty, it had not been dusted, or vaccumed around the walls for sometime. The lighting in the bathroom was terrible, no light in the shower, you will need a flashlight to see. Could be great, but needs to be cleaned well, and better lighting in bathroom.

The hotel is in a great location. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The beds were nice and cozy. The down fall was the resturant was terrible and expensive. The hotel needs to have free brekfast.. Good hotel for the price just eat elsewhere.

My room was next to the elvator and there was a noise each time it was used...sounded like someone dragging chairs. The hotel was full, so I checked out after 1 night instead of not sleeping a second night. I would not return.

The night staff was great, would of liked a 3pm check out since we arrived about 1am. When we got there the TV didn't work and the remote was missing buttons. Room just felt cheap for what we paid. Won't stay there again, will drive to Huntington from closest Hilton property.

Nice location was in town for court was there with friend and children. Room was freezing upon entry mirror in bathroom was dirty tape on ceiling dust nd dirt on pics and head board and no coffee they brought coffee right away. This was perhaps one of the worst hotels that I ever stayed at. I travel a lot and stay at all kind of hotels. Holiday Inn chain is known for providing medium level hotels at a reasonable price. Unfortunately this hotel is not one of their better ones. The hotel is dingy, dark with a strong smell of cigarette smoke. They have one of the worst restaurant […] inside the hotel. Whatever you do, do not stay in this hotel and if you are stuck and have no choice but to stay there, do not eat in the hotel's restaurant. Food is miserable, service is obnoxious and the dishes keep getting stuck to the table cloth (apparently the dishes as well as table cloth are washed may be once a month). Not many choices for Hotels in Huntington, WV. I thoroughly investigate hotels before I stay. Previous reviews gave the Holiday Inn "about average". . .but the other hotels got absolutely horribe reviews, especially the supposed best hotel. . the Pullman Plaza, which by the way is a dump. I would stay in my car before staying at the Pullman Plaza. The […] Holiday is was a great choice. It's very clean and comfortable. The only complaint I would give is the lady who checked us in. The hotel is comfortable and clean --as you would expect. But the best reason to chose this hotel is its location. You are just down the street from the University. And you are close to good shopping and restaurants. The best choice if you are visiting Marshall.

I left after a few hours. I didnot stay after 9 pm. The place is one of the, if not the worst I've ever been around. The pool was small and needed cleaned. The suite was small, my vehicle was used as a park bench and I was never so glad to leave a place in my life.
