vom strand her kann es schon laut werden,da wurde gefeiert und die musik dröhnte,aber nur einmal.

Lage des Hotels ist o.k. mit Strand vor der Haustuere und oeffentlichem Golfplatz in 3 km Entfernung (Gruenfee 60 Dollar, gepflegter Platz); 2 kleine Pools und Whirlpool (heiss) und viele Huehner Tennisplatz umsonst fuer Gaeste, aber nicht im besten Zustand

Grosse Zimmer, leider war das Aufraeumen und Zimmer sauber machen nicht die Staerke. Lage sehr gut nahe am Flughafen und Ausflugorten. Das waren die Maengel aber Kauai ist absolut der Hit und man ist ja da um die gegend und die Beaches zu erforschen.

Preis/ Leistung stimmt und die Lage ist für Ausflüge auf Kauai ideal. Minuspunkte gibt es für die unbequemen und sehr harten Betten.

Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Ocean View und waren total begeistert vom Zimmer und der Lage. Wir hatten auch Blick auf die Napili Beach, vom Lärm direkt vom Strand bekommt man nur sehr wenig mit. Der Weg zur Beach ist kurz und es gibt mehrere Duschen. Das Zimmer ist sehr schön eingerichtet und die Küche ist in einem Top-Zustand mit Geschirrwaschmaschine. […] Der Garten und Poolbereich sind auch sehr schön und können bis 22Uhr benützt werden. Es gibt neue Barbeque-Grille und das Restaurant war auch gut. Wir waren rundum zufrieden und würden sofort wieder dort übernachten. Mehr

The staff is all very friendly and helpful (including the cleaning staff). Room was clean and met our needs. The location is convenient, with restaurants and grocery stores just a few miles north in Kapa'a. The best part is the Lydgate beach and pools, which you walk to right out the back of the hotel. The pools have great fish viewing for the beginner […] snorkeler. Right next to the protected beach/pools, there's an expanse of beach with better waves. Since my last visit they added free movie rentals, free lobby wifi, and free printing of your airline boarding passes - thanks! Mehr

Nice grounds, although the Japanese Garden looked neglected. Rooms are a bit out of date. Staff was really friendly. All in all a good hotel!

The hotel is in a great place, and its cheap but... its old, is smells, the room didn't feel clean. It was a non-smoking room but smelled very musty.

I arrived at 11pm and was checking out in the morning and was charged a $10.50 compulsory fee to rent dvds and get to drink the cheap indedible coffee provided in the room (which ALL hotels provide for FREE). I said obviously after traveling 18 hrs there and going straight to bed I wasn't watching dvd's but it it didnt matter, I had to be charged. What […] a rip off. Also hotel is v v wornout w old carpet and v basic. I'm used to any conditions and not fussy, but it's not nice enough for more than one night.....if you're ready for the rip off dvd charge! Mehr

The hotel is located at very good areas. However, the cleanliness of room is not satisfied.

Extremely friendly and efficient staff upon check-in. Housekeeping staff very friendly and always spoke "aloha" upon passing in hallway. Loved the convenience of the DVD checkout system for our granddaughter to enjoy some movies in the evening. Overall stay a real nice experience.

The Aston Aloha in Kapa-a represents excellent value for anyone looking for a clean and affordable room close to the Lihue Airport in Kauai. The staff if friendly, the amenities are fine and, basically, the place "works". As an added bonus, the hotel backs up to a lovely state beach, so a morning or evening stroll is easy to do. Finally, the town of […] Kapa'a has a number of excellent restaurants at all price ranges, several of which appear regularly on "Best Of Kauai" lists. My first trip to Kauai and after being on the island for eight days realize I need to look no further for a good hotel. It's not plush or on the cutting edge, but is a real good value. Friendly staff. Great location. Old Hawaii feel. If you want elegance, go to the South Shore and pay the prices. For me, I like it relaxed and comfy.

I originally booked the hotel for three nights, then extended for five more. My earlier review is below. Do your best to overlook the negative reviews. This hotel is over 25 years old but it goes on like a pair of comforatble shoes. Friendly people in a great location.

I read some poor reviews on this hotel but decided to stay there anyway. You should do the same. Plush and snooty it is not. If you want that, go to the South Shore and pay the prices. This is a solid, comfortable hotel, with friendly and helpful staff, convenient to the airport and the sights. Front desk staff excellent, concierge and housekeeping could be a little more helpful. We liked the hotel well enough to come back at the end of our trip as well. Close to airport but not so close as to hear noise.

I would only recommend this hotel based on getting a cheaper price than others in the area. The location was good, but the hotel needs to be updated badly. The bed was not comfortable. The door / window to the outside would not open. In general, the bathroom fixtures & decorating were outdated.

We had a wonderful stay. We had booked with another hotel and when we went there to check in it was horrible. We were able to check into the Mariott and are we thankful. A nice place to stay, walking distance to shopping. I recommend this hotel.

I stayed at thei hotel again becacuse of the location and price . There needs to be more rooms for people with disabilities I have bad knees and the toilet in our room is very low if this is the same in the hotel then I will stay at another hotel because my disabilliteis is a huge issue and I had to walk alot in the hotel I liked walking but if my knee […] was in a flare up I would be walking . I would have liked to have a microwave in my room . I would also suggest like some other chaln hotels to have a breakfast set up for free this I am sure would bring much more business. Mehr

The hoele food was disgusting. It is too bad to have such a nice experience ruined by such awful food.

Older hotel, moderate rates, a little bit "dated". Had ants in our room. BUT - the location was central and right on the beach, very nice! Staff was friendly. Resturant over priced, food ok. Would stay there again due to the central location and access to Lydgate Park. Would be great for families with young children and on a budget.

The linen was extremely thin, very worn. The room smelled musty. The staff was very friendly. Location was convenient.

The congierne service was very handy, they knew a lot and recommended us a boat and diving trip which we really enjoyed. Most hotel employees were really nice and helpful. You'll need a car to get around, the hotel is not in any centre but I guess everything in the island is just as far from...well everything.

The room was good, the ocean view was great overlooking the pool and nearby park. But the bed left a whole lot to be desired, if i wanted to sleep on the floor or on a slab of concrete I would've stayed at the airport terminal for my extra night on the beutiful garden isle. Location was good. Staff were professional. But, I would not recommend anyone stay here as the hotel was almost in a state of disrepair.

great location, but the hotel needs refreshing- old thin towels, poor lighting, less than clean decor. Nice people & location, but somewhat depressing

The hotel is in a convenient location from the airport. The grounds are very nice. There are some minor maintenance issues with the exterior of the building. The main negative was lack of lounge chairs in the pool area. This hotel is okay for a one or two night stay.

Apparently "ocean view" does not mean being able to see the ocean from your room. In addition to a general run-down state, the hotel is not very well kept up. I would not recommend this hotel.

We were pleased with the short stay and will most likely stay there the next time we go to Kauai. Not a fancy hotel but pleasant and the staff was very accomodating.Prce was right.

Hotel is old (1960's or '70's), but has been painted and spruced up -a faded beauty. Great if you love retro Hawaii hotels. Overlooks Lydgate Beach Park, a sunrise heiau (temple) and puuhonua (place of refuge). Watching the sun rise from behind a heiau dedicated to the rising sun was an experience not to be missed. Service has plentyof aloha. Perfect […] for families with lots of kids, as beach park has kid-safe swimming. Dinner in hotel restaurant was delicious - kudos to the chef! A great choice for cultural tourists (in Wailua area, lots of Hawaiian cultural resources), County of Kauai has put up signage near bridge, and there is a bike path that starts a little ways down the highway going to Kapaa. Will be awesome once they get the whole network completed - rent a beach cruiser and check it out! Great Kama'aina and budget destination - no lanai is a drag, but other things make up for it. Hotel is beautiful and close to public beach. Room TV did not work and window did not open, but they quickly moved us to another room without question. Only had free internet in common/lobby area, which was a bit inconvenient, but it worked.

I hate when hotels keep their prices low by tacking on hidden fees. I booked through Hotels.com which did not mention the $10 + tax resort fee - which includes ridiculous things like unliminted DVD and Playstation rentals. PER DAY. Who goes to Kauai and watches DVDs all day? We were at this hotel for maybe 12 hours and had to pay that fee regardless […] if we were interested in what it had to offer. That being said - we didn't see much of the hotel. The room was nice enough. The 'shower/tub' was a shower that had a 1'6" lip that could 'hold' water for a bath? it was confusing to me. The pool looked nice, but small and the view to the beach looked nice from the lobby. The location was not ideal since it's not THAT closer to anything (walk able) - but most people have cars and the nearby towns are a quick drive. Mehr

I have stayed here many times over the years and am never tired of it. A great value for the price and location. They did hit me for a 10.00 resort fee per day at check in so be aware of that. Have stayed here for both business and pleasure. the rooms are great with a sitting area, desk, and queen size bed. Very comfortable.

The mattress was so old that it had a permanent curve in it. The AC was old and did not cool the room. The internet only worked in the lobby. The DVD movies that you had to pay for, no choice were scratched, and did not work. we went thru ten movies just to get one to work. it is not worth saving money with these type of issues. Stay Away.

i had ocean view. Resort was walking distance to Lydgate Beach...Great!

the room was dirty, hair and dirty conditions in the bathroom, an lbscured "ocean view" with windows that were so dirty and corroded that you could barely see out of them. the bed was uncomfortable as well. Had to pay $10.42 for mandatory "hotel ammenities" that included coffee packets that we did not have. This is an older hotel, but well maintained. Staff was very nice and helpful. The hotel is situated perfectly for easy access to both the north and south sides of the island. Kapa'a is only a few minutes away as is the bigger town of Lihue. Very good price for this level of hotel.

The Aston Aloha Beach is an older hotel that has been kept up reasonably well. Our room was clean and it had A/C which worked well enough to keep it cool and dry. There was a small fridge to keep drinks cool. A/C and a fridge are my two requirements before booking any room on the islands. The biggest downside to this hotel is its location. Compared […] to other areas of Kauai, it is relatively inexpensive to stay here but if you're interested in Waimea Canyon, the lush north shore and the Napali Coast, or the Poipu area, you're not particularly close to any of them. Perhaps you are thinking, "Why not just drive to them? How big can Kauai be?" Well, you can use part of each day to drive to the more interesting locations but particularly in the case of the north shore and Napali Coast, if you don't get there relatively early in the morning, you will not be able to park. It's a huge convenience to be near where you want to spend your day. What you are close to while staying at this hotel is Walmart, Costco, Kmart, and fast food joints that all provide some relief from the high prices on the islands. This is nice but my advice is still to stop at Walmart on your way to some place more interesting. Bottom line: We were on Kauai for five days: two in Princeville and three here. I wish I would have stayed another day in Princeville and then spent the last two near Poipu. It would have cost more but it would have been worth it for us. Aloha. Mehr

This hotel is older but holds on to it's many benefits that other places do not offer or charge more for. free parking, late checkout, early check-in, etc. The pools are small and old but are only good for a quick dip. It is conveniently located near Kapaa and Lihue whcih provides restaurants, grocery stores, and shopping. Great mid horse shoe location. […] The beds are old and tired and should really be replaced. Hotel is NOT beach front. There is a park between the hotel and the beach. Internet access is available ONLY in the lobby.
