A '' Mr. Mike's '' concept. The steak (the room) sound cheap but by the time you add the potato (parking) and vegetables (internet), it costs the same as a steak at a better restaurant.

Parking was a little awkward with key card access in and out. City street tearup is one of the seasonal challenges that didn't help. Not the hotels fault- just added to the awkwardness Close to a lot of amenities- downtown and Inglewood

It was nice that a hotel of this caliber takes pets. The hotel was close to where we had an appointment and some shopping. It was clean and the service was great. The price was reasonable but unfortunately we had to pay for wireless Internet.

Hotel is in a good location. Beware of rooms facing the pool in summer. Loud DJ during the day and into the evening. Air conditioner is fairly noisy, and seemed maxed out, as the room could have been cooler. No fridge, and door lock had some issues (that were fixed). Room was clean and staff were friendly. Rates offered good value.

The hotel has a great lobby and pool area The room i stayed at was nice, but the ventilation system hummed all night and i got no sleep. Calling the front desk wasn't any help I wouldn't stay here again as there are much better alternatives close by.

What a great hotel. We had the best sleep ever and the rooms were modern yet affordable. Love the downtown area. We will come again!

I don't know what the management of a so called 4 star hotel is thinking: we were on the 2nd floor an there was a party going on down below in the hote restaurant with the Hoity-toity name 'Saint Germain' till about 3 AM. I mean, I like to party - I used to be a DJ in my younger years - but when you've got a flight to catch the next day at 7 AM youre […] not really in partying mood. Anyway, the music was blasting so loud the walls were shaking and the mattress was vibrating. an absolue no-go for a 4 star hotel!! and the funny thing is, when i arrive i asked for a room on a high floor, and they were claiming (un an unfriendly manner) that alls was booked. so i didnt even have the possibility to chane. If your a 4 star hotel and know that youre having a party (i think it was a wedding) and you know the second floor is un-sleepable during party night -> then block these rooms for that night -> very poor management! In general: north amercan 4 stars are like swiss 3 stars, sorry bout that. Mehr

This is my second time staying at Hotel Arts. Hotel room was in general nice with comfortable bed. The only complaint is that this time the room and bathroom is a bit small - smaller than the one I stayed in the first time.

Very nice hotel. Except for the area around the hotel is questionable at night.

I checked into my room at 11pm, walked into it to find A/C not working and room about 1000 degrees. Lobby staff informed me that they didn't have another room - but that they had been instructed to rent to room even though they were fully aware that air conditioning wasn't working. Switched hotels and will never go back.

Friendly service, comfortable accommodation and, most importantly to me easy access to the city downtown and to a great Irish pub just across the street.

I loved the Hotel Arts!!! It is conveniently located, the room was spacious, modern, nicely decorated and there was a balcony with a nice view of the city!!!! In addition, there are two restaurants in the hotel, the one I chose for dinner had outdoor dining in the pool area!!! I wish I could have stayed at longer!!!!!

Great place to stay as long as the A/C works properly in your room!!

The room was exceedingly dark sending readers into uncomfortable positions just to see the page. The coffee maker was awkward and the coffee unpleasant. The bed was soft (for me causing some back discomfort).

I was in room 815 and the furniture was used, it is like if there has been water on the furniture and left marks on it. For the rest, it was perfect. Quietness in the room.

Hotel Arts is fabulous, however, we booked this hotel for it's pool facilities and were extremely disappointed when we arrived at the hotel and found that the pool area was closed due to renovations without any notices that the pool area would be off limits during this time.

The Staff at this Hotel is AMAZING! Morgan in particular (GM, give this guy a raise). I travel a lot, and generally only stay in 4 star places or higher, but I knew the location, and decided to try it. The only reason they didnt get a perfect rating was that the entertainment options in the room were BAD. The TV didn't work properly (the staff went […] all out to fix the problems), and on the site it said that the rooms have a CD clock radio, so I didn't bring one. The only music options were either the 1992 clock radio, or to pay BIG bucks (get this...) to hear specific CDs for 120 minutes. Guys... tsk tsk All in all... I'll be back, but I'll bring iPod speakers. PS - If you are a cranky old fuddy duddy this Hotel will be too loud for you. You can tell that there are people having fun somewhere, and while I personally find that a great vibe, the Pheonix set may object. BTW I'm 48, so I'm not into annoyances either, but this was pleasant. The other issue I read complaints about was the parking. You need to be aware that not only is this abundant secure underground parking, but Calgary has some of the highest parking rates in North America and at $10/day it is about a THIRD of the market rate elsewhere in the city. Great rooms and buffet breakfast at good value. Friendly staff and great restaurant!

We enjoyed our two days at this hotel and were very impressed with all of the staff we encountered. The room was lovely with a view of the downtown lights. The neighbourhood was a little noisy at night with the street activity going on, but we didn't lose sleep over it...wonderful bedding!

The hotel is nice, located near the C-train station as well as the calgary tower. the hotel is really nice, the decor and the atmosphere. The employees were very helpful. One thing I didnt like is that I wasnt informed about a fee for parking. I just got a bill for parking the next day.Overall, the hotel is really nice and the location is great:)

Good hotel, helpful staff..BUT don't forget to ask about the $9.95 per day parking pass!! Bit of a surprise.

Very nice hotel.

We had a great stay at Hotel Arts! The staff was SUPER friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfy, and the location was fantastic! We were on the top floor and the Calgary Tower was right outside our balcony! We stayed here for a concert and were walking distance to the venue! Close to everything!! Modern room decor is very nice. The evening drinks by the pool was the highlight. The hotel desk staff was very nice and informative. I would definitely go back. Signing in and then having to find the parking in the back was awkward, I especially don't think hotels should charge you overnight to park on the weekends when the streets are very cheap to […] park. Depending on the purpose of your stay in Calgary - this hotel may or may not be for you. The hotel is located on the outskirts of Downtown Calgary which can bring about quite a headache on the right day. Parking can be expensive, traffic can be a nightmare, and noise can definetly be a factor. So if you are looking for a calm, relaxing place to unwind […] at the end or your day, this is probably not the place to do it. Word to the wise - if there are any events scheduled at the hotel (ie. weddings, parties, etc) DO NOT stay there. Noise travels through the ENTIRE place no matter what floor you're staying on. We were staying on the 11th (out of 12) floors during our stay, and the music was just as loud on our floor as it was on the main floor - not so great when you're tired and trying to sleep after a long day. Great welcome at reception on arrival with complimentary room upgrade. Right in the centre of Calgary close to train station and trendy 17th ave for restaurants, bars and shops. Really comfy bed. Recommend this hotel to anyone going to Calgary.

A swanky hotel to do entertain my wife at!!!

It was a nice hotel, close to downtown and fairly priced. Would definatley stay there again.

The moment we checked in, we knew we were in good hands. From the mega-watt smiles to the smallest detail of the room, everything was stellar. Particular kudos to Duncan, Brent & the rest of the team at the Raw Bar who provided one of the best experiences in recent memory. We will be back...Often!

Awesome staff who were extremely friendly and helpful, plus had a great location downtown, close to everything. The room was comfortable and the hotel itself was beautiful. Definitely would recommend to others.
