The first surprise was having to pay for parking. A sign in front of the hotel says $15 valet, $8.99 Self parking, plus tax. When I checked in I asked the front desk why parking was separate from the room cost, because if I'm staying here, one would assume I'd park here. She stated that they were working on making it part of the cost of the room. This […] notion was quite ridiculous to me. The second thing that registered on my irkometer, the shower had a slow drain. It was disgusting to stand in the shower-a shower used by the public, filling with water. I made the hotel aware of this issue in the morning as I left to eat and shop. But sure enough, I had to endure the pooling water during my next shower. The rates were too expensive for these types of issues. And my time off is too precious to tolerate meger accommodations. I know the value of the dollar has dropped but sheesh. I have no desire to revisit the Hilton at Myrtle Beach. On the plus side, the beds slept like a dream. Mehr

Not at all what I expected from a Hilton resort. Restaurant service on site was horrible, food was disgusting... room was okay. Within 5 minutes of checking in I received a call to the room requesting we come down to the lobby for a "special" guest package: Time share sales for the neighboring property. No thank you.

Room service is over priced. We stayed for a week. There are no laundry facilities on the property. They are located at their sister property. Rained all week. There is no indoor pool. You can take a shuttle to get to indoor pool at Kingston Plantation. Our toilet over flowed. Housekeeping took forever to get to our room. We checked out a day early. […] There are only two drawers in the room. Our trip was for a week. We had to keep most of our clothes in our suitcases. The hotel is fine for an overnight stay, but not for a week long trip. The bath products by Peter Thomas Roth were the only plus. We asked for two queen beds. These are full size beds. Extremely small, so I requested a roll away bed for my daughter and they said no. It was a fire hazard. Real comfy if u sleep in one position all night. A steak at this hotel is 30 dollars. Tea was not fresh. 50 degree weather and rain all week for Spring Break. There is a Starbucks in the lobby. We enjoyed our whole week outside if the hotel at shows. Mehr

The hotel was beautiful and location was great! Being able to use the pool and hottubs at the neighboring hotel was very nice, except both of the hottubs were full of unsupervised small kids every time we went to use them. The toiletries (ie...toilet paper, soap, etc) were not refilled daily and we ran out of toilet paper the last night (with four people […] and two teenagers staying in a room for 4 days, two rolls aren't going to cut it!) Also, we had to leave a note for the maids to leave more coffee and creamer as they did not refill that either! The vending machines were either empty or were not accepting money. The prices of the drinks at the outside bar were a bit high, costing us over $20 for two small cocktails. If you are a guest at the hotel we feel there should be some sort of break on the bar prices, if the prices were lower we would've gone back for more while we sat on the beach. Overall, the hotel and service was great and we would definitely recommend the hotel to others looking for a place with the beach outside the back door and in a quieter location for people with families, but next time we will probably look for a place with a kitchenette. Advertised as under renovations, fair, was, but we were placed in room that was formerly a smoking room and odor was still strong. We should have requested to be moved, but we chose to stay in that room; next day cleaning service was late and we just took replacement supplies, slight hassle, only there 2 days. We actually had not been to that hotel […] in 20 years and wanted to go back as quaint quick vacation. No wi-fi, breakfast and paid to park in November, seems like nickel and diming customers. Overall, if this was a lesser brand, it would be a nice hotel, but since it is the Hilton, it should be a lot better. Maybe this is a brand on the decline? Mehr

Where to begin? Hotel's run down, door jamb was busted, counter with crumbs upon check in, bathroom subpar with NON working bathroom ventilation fan(!), was told no longer pet friendly (which is fine) as a result of renovations (which were absent and in dire need of), rates raised and new rate of $8.99 per night to park, water damage and mold in corridor […] between Hilton and Royal Palms condos (smelled very badly, water was actually pouring into hotel and staff only places towels down instead of a sign and fixing the problem), pool area TOTALLY vacant of staff on wednesday with no poolside towels (not even behind in storage, so walked inside (wet) stood in A/C and upon asking hotel assoc for assistance, she tells me I need to wait in line because she can't handle those problems, the Hilton doesn't allow her to! Disgraceful; she should be embarrased at her conduct. LISTEN - NOT AT ALL A CLASSY HOTEL, IN FACT QUITE POOR. SAVE YOURSELF TIME AND MONEY, GO AAAAANYWHERE ELSE! By the way, waited 15 min before I got a towel, had to hunt down maintenance!!!! Mehr

The actual location of the hotel could not be better. We were right on the beach and just about every room overlooks the ocean. You are steps from the pool and beach and the restaurants and pool bar are great. The room, however, was disgusting. The vent over the shower was rusty and caked in at least 1/4 inch of dust and grime. The only place to charge […] my cell phone at night was behind the bedside table and when I had to move the table to reach the outlet, the cords, wall, and outlet were caked in years and years of dust and dirt. My family enjoyed staying at this hotel. It is next to the beach and provides multiple outdoor pools. People there were kind and courteous. We had good breakfast at the cafe on the 2nd floor. One thing I didn't like was there were not enough towels in the bathroom for four of us.

The beach and hotel property are quite nice. It is in a quiet section of beach with calmer water that is good for small children. The room was nicely decorated and the beds are quite comfortable, with a variety of soft and firm pillows on each bed. The overall stay was great. There is a small children's pool that kept my daughter very entertained. […] My only qualm was with the add-on parking fee. The hotel charged $8.99 + tax for each night's stay for "self-parking." We thought that was a little cheesy, especially for such a nice hotel. The elevators were also incredibly slow, which turned quick trips to the room into 30-minute ordeals. Mehr

If you stay at this hotel with location in mind, then you will not be disappointed as it is right on the beach. But if you are looking for something that is updated, clean, etc, I would not suggest staying here. The location was great. Hotel is in high maintenance mode. Pool out back by the open air bar/restaurant was closed for 2 days. Hot tub had mildew on parts of the surrounding top. The outdoor kids water park is 3 doors down at the Embassy Suites so a pretty good walk. Rooms are very small and in my opinion hard to really get clean. Despite requesting a non-smoking room, we were checked into a Smoking room, and the front desk did not inform us at the time of check in that we were being given a smoking room. When I entered the room, it smelled of cigarette smoke. I called the front desk immediately and requested a room change, and they at first told me that they have no rooms available, […] and they could spray the room to mask the smell. I have serious allergies to smoke, and I had to convince the desk for quite some time, who then magically came up with another room, same room type on a different floor (10 minutes ago, the hotel was sold out). So, beware, despite being a "Hilton", they might try to trick you to get a smoking room. I was at a convention, and the next morning met several other people who had been given a smoking room. I thought that this was a room preference most hotels guarantee. Mehr

The title of my review says it all, but if you would like details here are some specifics. It's overcrowded. They tried to give me a room with a double when I reserved a king even though we arrived during the first hour of checking in. We were given a handicapped room instead which left the bathroom messy after a shower. The hotel area sounds secluded […] but it's surrounded by a myriad of other hotels. The drinks are outrageously over priced at the bar. There aren't enough elevators for guests. No free parking for guests. The room was not up to scale with the furnishings that I have had in other Hiltons. Mehr

It was great! Two pools to choose from, and the beautiful beach to enjoy as well. Never have to leave the resort - if you don't want to (but do, to check out everything Myrtle Beach has to offer). Great bar (Wet Whistle) to enjoy cocktails, lunch, and snacks. Awesome breakfast buffet at Cafe Amalfi & great prime rib dinner special too. Treat yourself […] to a Cabana one day & be treated like royalty for a very reasonable price. Loved the little desk/make-up table in the room that is separate from the bathroom. I could relax as I put on my make-up w/great lighting & a powerful close-up make-up mirror. Free shuttle bus to places w/in 2 mi's. of hotel - so convenient. For other places like Broadway on the Beach, or Barefoot Landing - very easy to find & close to drive to, or take a taxi. So many things to do and see, you can never be bored. Mehr

First of all, you have to pay a daily fee to park at this hotel because security is on the premises but there are notices everywhere that they are not responsible if your vehicle is broken into. As far as the room goes, there was a horrible odor in the room that was coming from the mattess pad on the bed. After it was changed, the odor still persisted. […] The shower/tub had a hole in the porcelain with lots of rust. For the amount of money paid for this hotel I really expected much better quality. I am not a complainer, therefore, this experience was pretty bad for me to submit this review. Mehr

A nice view (not oceanfront) on the ocean. Nice lobby. Conveniently on the beach. But....bathroom was very small and showed its age, no ventilation in the bathroom, AC did not work consistantly, no free wireless internet. Room was not entirely clean when we checked in and it was not clean before late in the afternoon while we stayed there for 3 days. […] Breakfast was Ok, a bit pricy tough. We loved our stay at the Hilton!!! The staff was great, the amenities were perfect and room was awesome! The activities team was super nice and our children had a blast!! I found the location to be very relaxing and also close enough to attractions that it was easy to get around. Security at the gate was comforting. I do not agree with the parking charges however the covered parking garage is very nice. Overall we had a great time and we will return.

The best part about this hotel is that we were able to walk out the door and onto the beach. The beach was always clean, the sand is incredibly soft, and the water was warm and clean. We could go there any time of the day, and often sat on the beach to watch the sun rise. The large pool has a shallow area with sand at the bottom, which we thought was […] cool. The staff were all friendly, the breakfast buffet in the morning was delicious and only 15 dollars, and the poolside bar was a plus, since you could walk right up from the pool or even the beach for a drink or snacks. This hotel is not in the main hub bub of Myrtle beach, and is rather isolated, but it is only a short drive from the main highway that has every store and restaurtant you could imagine, and then some. The outside facilities were outstanding! However the room was small and the bathroom was small! The bathroom shower head was low and it was difficult to take a shower! The beds were small for a couple to sleep comfortably. The room was clean however the room had paint chipping on the walls. Not worth the money compared to other Hiltons.
