Candlewood Suites Westchase - Houston

Very frustrated ,paid for king suite. I got handicap access room. They were doing construction all day ontop floors no peace and quite at all. Checked out next day.

We were hesitant about this hotel since we got such a good deal on it, but what a great place to stay! They have free DVD rental and board games at the front desk and a cute little marketplace. The rooms are slightly outdated, but very clean! The staff is great as well!!

The hotel was nice but it needs to be given a face lift. You can tell it was constructed in the 90s.

Room was clean but smelled strongly of cleaning solution. The beds were comfortable. Cookies in lobby nice homey touch. Workout room well lit and good working equipment.

The staff was very friendly when I checked in. The hotel is nothing fancy, but it was clean and comfortable- exactly what I wanted for an inexpensive one night stay.

I picked this hotel because I needed a refrigerator / stove/ microwave for my two-night stay. I think the chain is geared toward long-term stays but if was very nice for a short stay as well. The kitchen was well-equipped, with dishes, plates, silverware, knives, cutting board, can openers, pots, pans, toaster, and even a strainer. It had a full size […] refrigerator with ice maker and even a full size dishwasher! If you want to cook outside, they have a community grill available (didn't see it just read about it.) The bed and pillows were very comfortable, they offer you feather or foam pillows if you request them (I did not.) My room was the smallest type (studio suite) but still had a desk, chair, and recliner. This hotel offers free laundry (you just have to bring or buy soap) and a small "pantry store" that works on the honor system. They also have a lending library of books and DVDs that you can borrow at the front desk. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I requested a later check out time and it worked out fine. Everything felt very clean and smelled good - I believe all the rooms at this particular location are non-smoking. A few negatives: I don't think there was a pool. The walls were a bit thin - several times I could hear the sound of water running in the adjacent room, but it wasn't enough to be bothersome. Overall, I was very pleased with my stay and will definitely look for a Candlewood Suites for future travel. Mehr

There was only one way in or out of hotel lot; if you missed it you had to go around the block. Not a great neighborhood: signs posted that hotel was not responsible for any thefts or breakins to cars in lot--not very reassuring. Staff did not explain that housekeeping only scheduled after you've been there for 7 nights--I did not find that the case […] at a different Candlewood location. Overhead light in room flickered maddenly for 10 minutes after flipping switch. Offered alternative pillows, which were not available when I asked. Linens dryed with scented fabric softener; towels not as absorbent, and agitated my allergies. Mehr

The opportunities for improvement I could recommend for this location is that it was a bit confusing in terms of the entrance to the hotel from the road. The sign for the hotel was further down from the actual place that is needed to enter the parking lot, which forced some addtional driving around. It wasn't a huge deal for me since I live in Houston […] but for non-residents, it could be annoying. Secondly, I wanted someone to change the sheets and change towels more often, but these extended stay places don't do it as often as normal hotels. that being said, I just took my towels down to exchange and they did it with no questions asked and even offered some other other toiletries I hadn't thought about so I didn't hold it against them. Otherwise, I loved it. The ice machine was awesome in the room and there was free internet, workout center, easy access to refreshments, free popcorn, kitchenette area was clean with plenty of dishes, etc.. Mehr

Every time I stay at the hotel, it is always clean and smells fresh. I like the fact that a guest can rent movies for free, easy access to the fitness center, and a food cub-board for convenient purchases.

The hotel is located in the Westchase District in Houston with access to the Beltway. Nice surrounding area with plenty of restaurants, shopping, etc within minutes. I really enjoyed the free dvd rentals and free washer and dryer ammenities they offered. I would stay here again!

This was our second stay here. It is a very good value and includes everything you could need (refrigerator, microwave, kitchen, etc.). It is not the cleanest hotel, but definitely better than most motels or small hotels within the same price range. The pillows are pretty comfortable. We would definitely stay here again because they do offer excellent […] customer service. Mehr
