The staff was friendly and even let me use the phone for free which usually costs $ 10. It was not a five star hotel but to sleep and leave in the morning it was okay for that price. The surroundings were okay with lots of other motels/hotels in the area and Wendy's ans Mc Donalds just around the corner (where I had breakfast). There were a few homeless people on the streets outside (not more than five) but neither did the bother me nor did they come into the motel or anything. I felt save and would stay there again. If I wanted a breakfast too then of course I would have to look for another motel/hotel. I can recommend it.

Okt. 2012The door of my room left a slight gap to the doorframe when closed which allowed the wind to blew in the room and one felt an air draft when one sat or stood close to the door. I do not know whether the radiator works because I did not turn it on. The breakfast was horrible compared to other hotels I stayed. But I managed some how to become sated. It was not a warm breakfast. They had two types of cereals, some kind of bred, sweets, tee, coffee and orange juice. The staff was very, very friendly and helpful especially the one in the evening. You get what you pay for. It was close to the highway so a lot of trucks and traffic. Nevertheless I slept perfect. I would stay there again and can recommend it.

We had an over-night stay. When we checked we were told the hotel was under construction on the 2nd floor. Our room was on the 3rd floor away from all the mess. I checked into the hotel at around 3pm on a Saturday. I had worked all day and was going to sleep and then attend a wedding. The hotel was under construction so I was not able to sleep at all. The hammering, sawing and power tool noise was unbelievable. This was my second stay at this Candlewood Inn in Troy Michigan, in the last 3 months. Both stays were good and I liked being able to by snacks and a lite breakfast on the premises. On this trip, I was disappointed that they could not provide me with the firmer pillows a notice in the room said they could, and no one offered to go into an empty room […] to see about finding one. I found this hotel to be excellent for my recent quick trip to the area to help my father who was in the hospital. The staff was polite, freindly and helpful. They copied and faxed items I needed. The hotel is near the I-075 in a light manufacturing and light industrial area. It was VERY quite and had a nice little 'store' area where you could buy an […] assortment of refrigerated, frozen and canned food items. This was handy for me so I didn't have to find a restaurant late at night. The room was clean and comfortabel, The pillows were too soft for me and they quickly replaced them with firmer ones. The towels were plentiful, I prefer softer, but that is a minor point. It is best to have a car, as this area is outside the usual cab serviced areas.
