Receptionist was excellent. Friendly, helpful and efficient.

was very annoyed being woken up on sunday morning by a dog barking, it was a good half hour before the owners eventually got it to stop barking. If i had known dogs were allowed we would never had stayed there.

my partner and i had a really nice time at the barcelo billesley manor, the staff were very nice, and helpfull, we stayed 2 nights there, and the grounds were lovely, room was a bit small, sleep was ok, and breakfast was plentyfull and lots to choose from, our only gripe was that everything was warm instead of hot on the menu, other than that we would […] definatly stay there again. Lovely hotel, reasonable price for B&B and very close to Stratford. Nice spa and pool area, but very expensive to eat here. Tried to see the dinner menu prior to booking but was told it wasn't possible - another guest said it was very expensive though. Filled with great hopes as we arrived. The building looks fantastic and the location could not be faulted. A long sweeping drive up to the manor house was quintessentially English country. We were there for a wedding and as our room wasn't ready for us to change, we decided to grab a sandwich in the bar. First thing to note was that the food was very […] overpriced given what was served up and that it took an absolute age to arrive. 40 minutes to prepare a sandwich was ridiculous. The room itself was functional and clean although we only discovered on our return that an air conditioning unit right outside made an incessant clicking noise. This continued all night and kept us both awake. It's a shame that such a beautiful setting was ruined with poor service and a tired interior. Mehr

Lovely place. Beautiful setting. Fabulous grounds. Nice food. Pleasant staff. Would recommend this place to friends. But, found the narrow corridors confusing to find one's way about; did not like having to carry heavy suitcases up the stairs; did not appreciate that the shower did not have hot water for two nights, despite reporting the problem to […] reception staff on the first morning. Also think the internet connection arrangements are borderline dishonest - what is the use of 24 consecutive hours of connection? Would be highly preferable to have a certain number of hours available anytime during a 24 hour period. Mehr

The hotel is almost 8Km from the City Centre. For those who are driving, this will be a very good hotel with lots of space and very big garden and surrounding greenery. There is also a SPA. We enjoyed our stay at this wonderful manor home turned hotel. The room was nicely equipped and modern on the grounds of a wonderfully preserved old manor house. As a family with two boys we wanted the experience of staying in a historic home without it feeling like we had to walk on eggshells and always having to tell the boys to be quiet. This fit […] the bill nicely. It felt like a true hotel, not like a B&B. The history of the home was also very interesting, as there are records for the property that go back to the year 750! The surrounding gardens are beautiful and the gated entry is stunning. I will definitely consider the Barcelo family of hotels in the future! Mehr

had small rooms, one in the farthest section of hotel (above the spa) and one in one of the outhouses, both didn't live up to expectations of hotel that looked nicer from the outside - but couldn't complain as we had a good rate. Main negative was the disinterested girl at reception. even though we requested on arrival to have one room with easy access because one person of our party had trouble walking and climbing stairs, we were put in rooms up a very steep flight of stairs and some more steps along the way, the furthest possible away from reception. Upon insistence we were offered rooms in the outhouses on the ground floor by the manager, but they were smaller and colder than the original rooms. You can't have it all at billesley manor. Mehr

What a lovely, historic hotel. Although 4 miles from stratford town centre the hotel was in its own grounds and provided such lovely surroundings that it was worth being out of the centre. Billesley Manor is set in idyllic surroundings and has a wonderful feeling as you drive into the grounds. I had a room in one of the former out bulidings adjacent to the main manor house. On first entering my room I was impressed with the decor and qulity of the bedding. Sadly, entertainment facilities are lacking. The TV was something from 15 years […] ago and hadn't got any digital channels at all! Internet connection was only via an ethernet cable and was charged at £15 a night! I think a hotel group of this stature really need to address the basic in room services they offer their guests. The total lack of any movies, sports or alternative news channels was frankly unacceptable. A small flt screen TV and freeview is the least you should expect and when even pubs and fast food outlets offer free wifi barcelo really need to lok at the charging policy. Mehr

loved the hotel

The rooms are so cold that you need thermal underwear. Speaking to reception the main heating dont come on until 6pm ,but we might be able to find a electric heater, great on a cold November day You need to wear shoes and trousers in there main resturaunt but they dont explain clearlythey can ofter the same menua at the bar . The bar food welll the […] chef must have dificaltyies under standing his own menu, we where that hungry we just had burger and chips but sounded so delious hand made burger in a SOFT bun with fries my partner asked for no mayo but I wanted mayo both come with out ,the best bit was both burgers came out in a ciabata the knife was so blunt that while cutting the hard ciabata it ended up going all other the floor never have I seen staff leave and not return so quick to sort it out.. Oh just went in the swimming pool when on form the fire alarm goes off well they they only had four ropes available for everyone no doulbt the cold will be on its way. Breakfast is typical rubbish the main breakfast room is dirty with mouse trapes in the corners the main mirror is filthy as is the whole hotel we you look deep down needs kim and and aggie there for a chain hotel felt really let down. We really enjoyed our two night stay at the Barcelo Billesley Manor, good location only approx 4 miles outside of Stratford. Although the reception and dining rooms look bit jaded, our bedroom was fresh and modern. The food was delicious but we thought the drinks were too expensive. Nice location in the country just 5 mins from Straford. Large gardens (Topiary garden, tenis courts, the rest grass), very picturesque building (with modern extentions). Rooms modern and comfortable - our room was particularly spacious. Decor generally very good. Nice restaurant - paneled walls, garden views, good breakfast (buffet). Stayed 1 night for business purposes. Room was very nice and had a good ensuite bathroom. Swimming pool was free to use, the changing rooms were a bit shabby, but the pool was good. No assistance was offered with bags, which was a bit of a pain as my room was one in the blocks outside, so had to bring my luggage up to reception from the car park and […] then back outside the way I came to my room. hotel is not 4 stars compared with U.S. standards

Walking into the manor was like walking back in time, the grounds are beautifully kept, the decor is all in keeping with the manor, yet all amenites are modern. The room was comfortable and very spacious, service was quick, with offers to take bags to be taken to our room. Breakfast was very good, a mixture of continental and good old English fry up, […] all with quality ingredients.
